The Glimp- Wednesday Night Tech Show

After a week or so of long work hours, it's finally time to get back to The Glimp. Tonight will be a discussion on a little bit of everything: gaming, mac, and tech news. Zach and I will be talking about the latest on the first update to the iPhone, a Halo 3 feature that we've all been dying for, and what Apple is holding for us on the 7th.

I know, it's Tuesday, and we're doing the tech show. It seems that our iPhone reviewer cannot be with us tonight, so the Tuesday Night Mac Show will go live tomorrow night. Just to clear all that up. Otherwise, enjoy the latest tech industry news. We'll talk about what technology laws our presidential candidates should be for or against, a new crackberry on the market with a special capability, and an ancient fish thought to be extinct is captured by fishermen.

Once again, Talkshoe is down. At least, for us hosts it is. Couldn't even start the show, so I just decided to do it in Garageband. Actually turned out to have better quality. Realized that the computer I'm recording to has an awful video card, and part of the line noise is coming through that. Anyway, tonight's episode covers the last bit of iPhone news before it goes big on Friday. I did that, since Thursday is a movie review, and there's no room for any sort of tech news. So the show covers that and a new site called Pownce. That's how it's spelled, and it's another one of Kevin Rose's creations, vastly different from Digg. It lets you send links, messages, and events to other people in your circle. This would be great for podcasters, being able to send out invites to a live show. I'll definitely look into this, but that's the news for today. Tune in and enjoy.

Tonight is a discussion on notebooks (laptops), and in my opinion, they're better than desktop machines that just sit on a desk. We're already seeing a rise is sales of these machines, so it could actually be true. But before that, we talk about Safari 3 beta for Windows, and if it's actually worth the time. The version for OSX is lightning fast, but XP and Vista had a tougher time running it supposedly. Then, the Church of England asks Japan to join their fight against Sony in the abolishment of violent video games, and the FBI warns American college students of another terror attack. So sounds like foreign students are going to have a more difficult time in our universities, and possibly persecution. All this and more news is on the show this evening.

Was today busy or WHAT! Worked eight hours at the shoe store, then came home and spent another hour on Talkshoe. How ironic. Zach's in the same position Tonight, we talk about backing up your computer, and how easy it can be. You don't have to have RAID to have an efficient means of mirroring your information. But before that, we cover a little bit more on the new macbook pro and a new phone that mimics the iphone, plus some other news to fill your expectations. Tune in, and enjoy the atmosphere.
