Gab's mission: Put people first and to promote free speech for everybody Much bigger than any one person or one political party. Pay to play advertising The point of business is to provide solutions to problems and create value. Many of the Big Social companies have lost their way in the drive for shareholder value. Up until this point there hasn't been an alternative to Facebook and Twitter although Snapchat is the remaining independent and has a large audience. The lack of Conservative leadership in Silicon Valley. The need for someone to stand up not only for Conservatives but for everybody. "The people, all people, are why the social media platforms exist." The CEO sets the tone for the users of the platform whether you have 300,000 or 300M users. People on the Left, Center and Right are all expressing disgust with the fact that censorship exists in Social Media today. Different Communities growing in Gab - gamers, politics, sports, etc. It's important to encourage different types of influencers to join Gab and to bring their following with them. Trends - possibly implementing AI and VR tools for content creation. Mobile is crucially important and they are working on native IOS and Android applications Open to feature and technology feedback from the Gab community. Main focus is being ready for scale. If you're looking at your phone you're not connected to the people with you're with. Make an effort to be present. Getting out and exploring nature, setting the phone aside. Studies that show there is a chemical reaction, dopamine is produced, in our brains to notifications. Mike Cernovich blog post about "How to relax and clear your mind and focus". Getting into a routine of starting the day working on yourself before getting into email, Social Media, notifications, etc. - Miracle Morning "This is my life's work, my purpose". HSAY 004 - Patty Dominguez - Marketing Guru | Boss Free Baller | Entrepreneur
HSAY 004 - Patty Domintuez - Boss Free Baller | Marketing Guru | Entrepreneur - Patty talks about her 4.5 year ride on "the greatest roller coaster ever which is entrepreneurship", going with the flow and understanding the power of technology and Social Media. Collaborated with a "lone wolf" consultant friend on CREATEbuzz where they help small businesses. the SMB market, get and keep customers. They have discovered that technology in general is super overwhelming for the small business owner. That's the perspective she brings from assisting her small business clients. One of the great quotes from one of her clients "I'd rather do my taxes than try to start to understand Social Media". Helping Small Businesses understand the monetization potential and how to create scale. How to understand technology and let go of the "overwhelm". One of the the overwhelming components is Social Media. They work with Small Businesses at the strategic level helping them understand where they want to go and to formulate a blueprint and identity, how you're different, your unique selling proposition. Being congruent. How you show up, on-line or off-line, is all in alignment. Congruency applies whether you're a solopreneur, network marketing, Small Business or big brand. You have to show up, who you are, what you say you do and what you do are all congruent. Identifying the perfect customer has everything to do with where you should be on Social Media. Patty consults to Fortune 100 companies and she is emphatic that Social Media is The Great Equalizer. No matter your size you can dominate your niche or "get rich in your niche" she calls it. Patty told the story about an associate who decided to test the concept building an audience in a niche with OctoNation on Instagram and now has over 32K Octopus loving followers! He started to provide a platform for these artists. He was consistent and patient. There is no shortcut. Patty event referenced Dawn Bartolini's story from HSAY 002 and her commitment, consistency and patience in building her network marketing business on Facebook. It's not glamorous, its just work. Patty found her footing on Social Media back in 2006 on LinkedIn and Twitter and was following some of the early thought leaders in Social Media like Chris Brogan and Seth Godin and their ability to be consistent and dominate. She really didn't understand what it was about. Then she got into Facebook and calls it the greatest cocktail party ever! Patty discussed the power of video om Social Media with Facebook Live and Snapchat and your ability to hack the algorithm with video on the various platforms. Patty talks about family life with her sons and Social Media and how she gets their attention she sends them a private Snapchat. She sees them playing with different new apps. They'll check something out, make a decision and drop it or keep it and share it with their friends. She's aware that Snapchat is the main platform but she does caution them to be careful. Just educate them to make good decisions. Patty also encouraged us to build and gain trust by engaging, delivering value and humanizing the interaction as much as possible. creating a relationship. Making people feel like they matter. What are you doing on Social Media to help people feel like they matter. As far as productivity tools Patty also talked about SocialBro from Audiense.com that tracks hashtags and tweets and helps automate some processes for her. She cautioned to be careful of too much automation, people's BS meter is very accurate. As far as the future of Social Media she said that Internet Marketers are the ones to watch as they are always 12-18 months out in front of everyone else. She says that video is the sustainable play, more content, more platforms, engagement and virality. Ray Higdon as an example dominates with any key word that you can search relative to entrepreneurship or network marketing. He has been blogging every single day for over three years. He posts videos at least five days a week. The definition of consistency. You can find Patty Dominguez and and company at CreateBuzz as well as on The Morning Would Show on Vimeo where she and her partner impart exceptional business marketing wisdom. She and her partner Tim also have an incredible podcast for entrepreneurs called The Boss Free Society Podcast. You can also find her on Twitter @pattydominguez_ as well as on LinkedIn here. HSAY 001 - Entrepreneur Mark Lindheimer Introduces The How Social Are You Podcast
HSAY 001 - Mark Lindheimer - Entrepreneur | Social Media Connoisseur On this first Podcast Entrepreneur Mark Lindheimer introduces you to The How Social Are You Podcast, tells you a little about who his is, his experience in social media, some of the concerns he has with the impact Social Media is having on us as social beings and our culture and society as a whole and what he hope to accomplish through interviews of social media influencers, entrepreneurs and individuals. Hello everybody I’d like welcome you to The How Social Are You Podcast this is Mark Lindheimer and you are listening to episode number one! Today we're going to introduce you to the podcast, share a little bit about me and more importantly what I hope to accomplish with this podcast so let's get started. So, what do I want to discuss on this podcast? Well, I’d really like to interview people about,, you know, what's going on in social media, who's using it, and how, and what are the trends in social media. But a lot of podcasts are probably talking about that already. More importantly I want to talk about how social media is affecting us as social beings and society as a whole and what part is it playing in our culture.A little bit about me. I live in Los Angeles and I'm a native southern Californian. I'm a husband and a father of three beautiful girls. I’m a partner in an Instagram based marketing company called Luxury World Traveler. We have millions of loyal travel obsessed followers who was recently recognized by Forbes.com as one of the top ten most influential profiles to follow. So I've had some experience with social media. I'm also a baby boomer and so I've experienced the amazing trajectory personal technology has taken over the last twenty years or so and from the PC to the cell phone to message boards to Facebook and the rapid advances in social media from there. The things and products and technologies that we're dealing with on a day to day basis. I personally use almost every social media application except for My Space and I currently have active accounts on Facebook, Twitter, Instagram, and Snapchat. I'll admit I've found the social media applications to be useful, pretty entertaining, frustrating, and absorbing sometimes all the same time.I've also noticed that as social media has become more and more prevalent it appears that people are interacting at the human level less and less. Maybe you've noticed this? I've been wondering lately, what's the impact social media is having on us as social beings? I hope to explore many of these topics on the podcast. I want to interview a variety of people on how they're currently using social media, their observations about social media's impact on our culture, and if they have experienced any personal challenges as a result. Any recommendations or strategies they might have in order to, you know, gain some value from social media without allowing it to take over their lives. So that's the podcast in a nutshell. I hope you find it entertaining, that it helps you take a look at how you're using social media and how it's impacting you as a social being. And that you learn something that you can implement into your own life.I want to thank you again for listening. You can find the podcast on stitcher, on a speaker and Google play now with iTunes coming soon.
