The Huddle
by Riss & Jet
The Huddle ~with Riss and Jet~ is a podcast for sporty gals. We're talking to fans, but not fanatics. You like your teams. You know your players (sometimes). You love to tune into a good game, and you're especially here for a rivalry moment. A good sports storyline? Heck yes. You're down to debrief on the highlights, but you're not reciting every stat, predicting every play or internalizing every trade deal. Sound like you? Join the huddle. New episodes air twice monthly (sometimes more, sometimes less - we're chill if you are). Ready... break!

Sincaraz is the Next Heated Rivalry
You already know we love to talk tennis, and the AO semi-final gave us LOTS to chat about. Love stories? Maybe. Temper tantrums? Yuh. Long matches?! Oh baby those ticket holders sure got their money's worth. Equally as important as the winners down under: sports bring new friends to Hannah in Seattle. And honestly, if she's making her elote dip for the watch parties, those friends are the bigger winners than the teams themselves.

Winter Break *Point
We’re back after winter break. TL;DR Netflix needs to slide into Mr. Mendoza’s LinkedIn DMs, the girls get into the NFL playoffs (we love you Josh Allen), there’s a glimmer of hope for the Giants next season, though we still don't know which Harbaugh is which. Obviously we also recap our tennis crushes performances down under at the Open.

I'd Skip This One
I think that's a delete - Alex who refused to be a guest speaker. Here's to the best sports weekend of the year! ho ho ho

Maddie did not in fact call it the CFC. She knew it was the CFP.
The Fighting Irish sure are a fightin'. There's uproar in the college football world, and we're here to kinda, sorta talk about it. The Hoosiers upset the Buckeyes for their first conference championship in... well, nobody knows how long (jk it's 58 years). And all of the aforementioned teams have Heisman finalists. Cool! Meanwhile, Bama continues to piss everybody off, there's breakup drama in the NFL, Jalen Hurts and Younghoe need new, talented therapists, and nobody (in all of Oz) can afford to go to the FIFA World Cup.

To Sour or Not to Sour, That is the Question
On this week's episode, we talk World Series (late) Cam Skattebo's injury (late) and Marissa's Buffalo Chicken Wrap (late). You can thank laryngitis for the delay. As a disclaimer, our resident fact checker, Alex, said Bridget's baseball stats would be AH-MAZING if they were true. YIKES! The Blue Jays have indeed won the world series, AND they repeated. So ignore both of those silly little comments. Bridgey's a lax rat not a baseball baddie.

See You at Shaffers
Giant highs and even more GIANT lows. If you’re not on the Jaxon Dart & Cam Skattebo algorithm, what are you doing on social media? We’re in peak sports szn ladies, buckle up. This episode we talked football, baseball, basketball and hockey. TLDR? Jet is a betting woman. Hannah’s social life is being put to the test with the Mariner’s loss. Cooper Flagg needs to FIO with the facial hair. And, while we may not be the biggest hockey gals, we are both heaux for a good buff chick wrap. We’ll be holding court at Shaffer’s soon enough. Happy to sign autographs, of course.

Another Day, Another Ramble. Aaron Judge is HOW OLD?
Little bit of this little bit of that. Football? Sure. Tennis. Duh. Hockey? We’re working on it. GO GIANTS!

Know Your Niche
Listen to this episode only if you're ok losing 13 minutes of your life to pure, under prepared YAP.Welcome back to the huddle, season two is about to be prolific because Riss and Jet are neighbors, Travis and Tay are getting hitched, and the Giants STILL STINK.

Wimbledon's Unofficial Sponsor: Morgan Stanley
Another day, another risk of Bridget cancelling herself. Shoutout to Fritzington, Carrot Top, Paige Lorenze, and Party Boy Car Car for strutting their stuff over the pond. The intelligence in this one is as real as the grass at Wimbledon, just not as well maintained.

Strawberries, Cream, and Wimbledaddies
Summer tennis is upon us, and we are chuffed to bits, as the Brits say. The lawns of SW19 are sizzling — and it’s not just the British summer heat... in today’s episode we chat Aussie & French open, and set our sites on those tennis whites.

Postseason Prognosis
Say a prayer, light a candle, and maybe do a lil pregame jog—we made it to another episode after a few week delay. This week, we’re yet again toeing the line between chaos and content and diving headfirst into what can only be described as a sportstravaganza with some side quests along the way.First stop: Knicks vs. Celtics. We are living for the drama, the defense, and the accidental elbow to the face. College lacrosse is also heating up—shoutout to Georgetown for keeping our bracket alive and Bridget's family group chat loud. Hoya Saxa! And as self described tennis super fans, we would be remiss not to inform you: Roland Garros is around the corner and we’re gearing up for clay court couture and to watch Sinner in his first match back from the ban.Listen now for the vibes, the vaguely informed takes, and a healthy dose of postseason delusion.

Acronyms & Playoffs & Drafts, oh my!
We're experimenting with episode structure and flirting with format. Dabbling in prep and dare I say even entertaining a wee bit of analytics. Podcasting is a marathon, not a sprint... and certainly not the NFL combine. On the docket for this week's episode? Acronym Land. We talk NHL playoffs (RIP to the Rangers and our Shaffer's social outings), NBA playoffs (don't @ us for pronunciation OR lack thereof), and the NFL draft. To take a page out of every athlete ever's post game interview: all glory to God that we made it through this episode tho.

Rory’s Gloryhole & Poppy’s Putt
In case you were wondering… We are golf girls now. The McIlroy’s stole the show this Masters week. Poppy set the stage for dad with her epic and ultra stoic tap in put during the par 3 tournament, and then Rory proved that the 17th time’s the charm as he took home the green jacket and rounded out his golfer guy EGOT (otherwise known as grand slam). In all seriousness, we’re so happy for Rors. Tears were shed. Screams were screamed. And, lots was learned. Plus, Riss’ dad has a lookalike who just so happened to take second place. Tune in for our masterful Masters recap.

Mischief Managed: Gators Take the Cake
Chomp chomp March; the comeback kids might not be flying private, but they sure are National Champions. Even though emotions are still raw after the Duke Dream Team fell in the final four, we’re happy for Walter Clayton Jr. and his cute daughter. And, we really hope Cooper Flagg graces us with one more year of college hoops. Poppy McIlroy has already stolen the show at the Masters. The question is now whether dad can do his part, too. (Correction: the little girl who swung poppy around after her epic tap in is not in fact her older sister, rather Shane Lowry’s daughter. Even. Fricken. Cuter)

And Then There Were Four (Plus! The Giant's New QB, Russell Crowe or Owen Wilson?)
In this week's episode, Riss and Jet break down the Elite Eight and look ahead to the final four. Did anybody actually know what a Vol was before last weekend? We sure didn't. Doesn't matter though because Tennessee is out and Houston's in... as are the other three No. 1 seeds...lame or cool? Either way, here's to hoping Jon Scheyer becomes the youngest NCAA Men's Basketball Coach to win the Natty. Recall: we're Blue Devils by proxy. Plus, knowing the college basketball season is coming to a close, we tease some upcoming convos for funsies, and we may or may not do some more research on these because if Walter Clayton Junior can transition from football to basketball, who's to say Russell Crowe isn't transitioning from Hollywood to the NFL?

Would You Get Married On Final Four Weekend?
While the rest of the country is in the thick of March Madness, Riss (and Jet by permanent third wheel proxy) are in the thick of wedding planning. In today’s episode, we talk Sweet Sixteen, the implications of NIL on the tournament and the general lack of Madness this March, but we also debate whether or not it’s worth planning your wedding around major sporting events. Take a shot every time one of us says “interesting” - Next episode, we promise a more ~interesting word choice. Correction: Bridget’s high school and their unstoppable girl’s lacrosse program did NOT in fact have a mercy rule, but they did have a running clock in place for when they were beating a team by too much. Same, same but different.

March Madness Rounds 1 & 2: Bracket Busters, Survivors, and College Hoops Cuties
After three and a half days of perhaps not quite as much Madness as the country was hoping for, Riss and Jet are back (with a fresh new jingle, mind you) to chit chat about all that went down in the first two rounds of The Big Dance. From the song of the tournament to McNeese's first round takedown of Clemson, we might have to start calling Riss Ms. Marissa Manifestation Murray. Jet, our resident Big East dreamer on the other hand... had the Johnnies going all the way. RIP. Other storylines? You'll have to listen for more, but we'll say this: We're all in on Richie Saunders (+ his cute dad), and we love Cooper Flagg playing bingo.

First Episode Madness: Happy March
As only makes sense for a first episode, we've gone full delulu. We think (and hope) you might be interested in tuning into to fun little concept we call 'illogical bracket picks by gals who don't know much about college hoops.' Sounds like fun, right? It is. During this episode we (Riss and Jet) walk you through our March Madness selections, choices founded on very little but but random brand loyalty, unsubstantiated hunches and of course, official rankings. We're betting gals, and we'd put appx 10 cents on the fact that many of you deploy similar reasoning in filling out your brackets. Definitely let us know if you also picked one school over another because your cousin went there, or if you thought it was notable to see Kansas next to (Ar)kansas.
