In Ephesians 6, Apostle Paul introduced a perspective and way of life that ran counter to the societal practice of slavery of his day. By declaring the lordship of Christ over all, it rewrote identity, motivation and community. Thus, the Gospel didn't immediately remove slavery, but it removed it's power to define people. Similarly, it translates to our work life today. Are we letting the lordship of Christ define the paradigm? God established a "household code" that often runs counter to what the culture of the day may teach. Children are called to obey and honor parents, not just as a behavior, but as an act of worship and following Christ.
