Never Ever Give Up with Shaya Frum
In this week's episode of the Impact Table Podcast host Marssie Versola is joined by Impact Table Member Shaya Frum, Director of Program Advancement for the Jessie Rees Foundation.Through their work, Shaya and her family and team bring joy through delivering joy jars, and inspire and encourage children and families around the country to keep going despite the challenges they face.NEGU (short for Never Ever Give Up) was a term coined by Shaya's sister Jessie Rees, during the time that she and her family faced an experience steeped in what might the ultimate experience of uncertainty, fear, misinformation, missing information, information overload, and questions - a childhood cancer diagnosis. Their story is a testament to resilience, love, and the power of joy. And their reminder to "Never Ever Give Up" is one we all need right now. Some of the key takeaways:💫 NEGU is resilience. It's courage. It's knowing that you have the strength inside of you to keep going.☀️ There may be seasons where it feels dark every single day... but it will not last forever. You never know when it's going to get brighter and completely shift. 💪 Self-care fuels the mission. Find and use practical tools like moving your body to clear your head, taking deep breaths to slow down, and coming together to sit with each other and grieve the bitter moments, so that you can keep moving forward.🕯️ Don't give challenges the power to dim your light. You've been through hard things before. If you had let those really tough things completely drag you down, you wouldn’t be where you are today, and you wouldn't be able to make an impact tomorrow.Ready to take a seat at the Table?Join us at www.impacttable.com/joinFind, Follow, Like and VisitConnect with Shaya on LinkedIn and support Team NEGUFind us on LinkedIn hereFollow us on Instagram @ImpactTableLike us on FacebookVisit our website @ www.impacttable.com

Let It Be Easy
The statistics on burnout in the social impact sector are staggering. According to a recent study published by the Center for Effective Philanthropy, most funders and 95% of leaders in nonprofit organizations express some level of concern about burnout, with 87% of nonprofit leaders expressing concerns about their own burnout and 75% indicating that burnout among their staff is impacting their organization’s ability to achieve their mission. And we know that women in social impact, already affected by the gender pay gap, are often further burdened by the lack of of nonprofit organizations or purpose-driven departments to offer equal or competitive pay or benefits, a lack of leadership and professional development, under-resourced teams and organizations, regularly reported feelings of isolation and overwhelm, high emotional investment and demands in this work (especially in roles in direct service), and largely recognized inequalities in the home, with women taking on most household and caregiving responsibilities. But, despite these very real challenges, what if we could let it be easy? Listen in.
