The Indie Popsicle

Good reads, good food & good tunes, because honestly what else is there to life?Beyond that, The Indie Popsicle is a podcast hosted by Carissa Marques, your average artsy girl with bangs and Doc Martens based in Jacksonville, FL. She hosts a variety of musicians, artists & other guests to talk about their latest creative endeavors and what inspired them to start creating. Sometimes you'll find media reviews or other random topics sprinkled in between. So grab a snack, hit the road, or finally start folding that pile of laundry that's been sitting in the corner chair and enjoy an episode!

    Hello and welcome to The Indie Popsicle 2024! I’m pulling from the vault to kick off this year, so this is a movie review I recorded with some friends in Fall 2023. We talk about the 2022 drama, Tár, starring Cate Blanchett. There are spoilers, and the movie is rated R, including themes of death and grooming, so do with that what you will. Mainly us just us laughing and me saying “wow true” as my intellectual friends give an insightful analysis on the film.

    COVID Conversations

    In this episode, you'll get a closer look at what's been going on in the minds of my best friend and I as we discuss what we've experienced after a month of being away from college.  The idea came from Gemae's cultural geography course, where she had to do a project on how the coronavirus has affected her life thus far. Topics range from Zumba classes to the effects the virus has on local businesses with lots of laughs in between.
