The Jazz Room

This months podcast is a heady mix of big band jazz (Buddy Rich and Benny Carter) to small group mainstream (Jonah Jones) and a few unlikely Christmas songs you might not have heard before to vocalists Anita O'Day and blues singer Big Joe Turner in Christmas mode and which Jazz giant at the age of 99 years old is still playing, you could be surprised!

This months Jazz Room covers a very wide range of styles. From Mugsy Spanier, Errol Garner's unique piano gifts plus live guest Dennis Rollins will be showing how good he plays trombone, plus a couple of delights from Ella & Louis.

The Jazz Room is back prior to our new live music season starting on September 17th with the Emily Brown Quartet at the Irish Club in Huddersfield, UK. Among many gems there is trumpeter Kenny Baker, singer Ella Fitzgerald with the Count Basie Orchesra, the Buddy Rich Big Band, Bob Crosbys BoPcats, plus a new singer of note Veronica Swift and many more highlights
