Protestors Converge For May Day Resistance (FIELD REPORT)
On this TJPS Truth In Transit investigation, I was in my hometown, Charleston, South Carolina, to witness the power of people-powered resistance. In this report, I follow members of the Union of Southern Service Workers (USSW), as they protest and voice their opposition regarding corporate greed, worker exploitation, and the erosion of human rights. Please donate and help support my Mama's recovery: https://gofund.me/b561bdb5fAt a time when journalism, specifically black independent journalism, is under attack, I need your support to sustain this platform. How South Carolina State Students Resisted A MAGA Speaker For Their Graduation
Today, I visited South Carolina State University to conduct a Truth In Transit field investigative report, after university leadership formally invited Republican Lt. Governor Pamela Evette to be a commencement speaker for graduation. The move, made in December 2025, was not told to student government leadership until this month. Upon being informed, they unequivocally disagreed with the decision, and it sparked a wave of resistance! I had many questions and concerns, so I traveled down to Orangeburg myself. I got to witness the board of trustees meeting, speak to student government representatives, and interview an alumn, who happens to be an elected official on the county council and a persistent advocate for the HBCU. In this report, I tell the history of resistance behind this HBCU, how students mobilized and won victory, and the power of using your voice to effectuate change! Please donate and help support my Mama's recovery: https://gofund.me/b561bdb5fAt a time when journalism, specifically black independent journalism, is under attack, I need your support to sustain this platform. Bondi Could Face Criminal Prosecution Per Historical Record
Pam Bondi was just fired as Attorney General, but that doesn't mean she'll escape accountability for her crimes and overt disregard for the rule of law. In this 42-minute special, I tell the story of how Richard Nixon's Attorney General went to jail for brazen corruption & why sycophancy never pays off in the end. Sylvia Wright: The Persistent Force Running To Restore Hope In S.C Education
In the introduction, I discuss the long history of far-right efforts to undermine education—ranging from attempts to dismantle the Department of Education and infiltrate school boards, to advocating for private schools and vouchers, and driving a heated “parents’ rights” movement that intimidates teachers. I explain why authoritarian movements often fear educators, highlighting the importance of defending public education right now.My guest is Sylvia Wright, a dedicated and seasoned educator who is campaigning to succeed Republican State Superintendent of Education Ellen Weaver, who notably earned her master's degree in just six months. Sylvia's goal is to rebuild confidence and optimism in South Carolina’s educational system and to support students, teachers, schools, districts, and the state as a whole. At a time when journalism, specifically black independent journalism, is under attack, I need your support to sustain this platform. TJPS SPECIAL- The Fight To Close Guantanamo Bay | Ep. 556
On this episode, I tell the story of how the U.S changed after 9/11, the war on terror, and lies, deception, & torture that influenced decades of American policy, culture, and life. The opening of Guantanamo Bay prison is a major staple in the fight against terrorism. A horrendous prison that two Presidential administrations and others have tried to close. In this special, I explain the history and if Biden can get it done.
