Facts not Rumors regarding John West | Season 2, Episode 27
Send us Fan Mail This episode came together after I kept seeing the same rumors floating around online about John West. See the video here : https://youtu.be/kNO-RmNPvoIPeople were saying he was behind lawsuits, others were bringing up the recall, and I realized I didn’t have an answer because I hadn’t been following it at the time. So I started digging into it myself and went directly to the sources. In this episode I go through what actually led to the recall, and what’s happened since. That includes the lawsuits, the ethics complaints people have talked about, and a flyer I came across. The goal here is simple. Lay out what’s documented, separate fact from rumor, and give you something solid to work with so you can decide for yourself. If you’re in Josephine County or just want a clearer picture of what’s been going on locally, this one’s worth a listen. #grantspass #josephinecounty #localpolitics #oregon #JohnWest #election2026 #southernoregon

The Josephine County Animal Shelter needs your help ! | Season 2 Episode 21
Send us Fan Mail I went out to the Josephine County Animal Shelter and walked the facility while talking with staff, with Commissioner Gary Richardson there answering questions as we went. You’ll see what they deal with day to day and how the place actually runs. They’ve got about 9 staff members and a volunteer base somewhere in the 150–200 range, handling thousands of animals every year. It’s a small crew doing a lot of work, and volunteers are a big part of keeping it going. One thing people don’t always think about is animal control officers. They’re the ones responding to calls across the county and dealing with situations most people never see. If that service gets cut back, those calls don’t go away. They fall on local police and the Sheriff’s Office, which ends up costing taxpayers a lot more. A lot of people in this community love animals, myself included, and want to make sure they’re taken care of and safe. That’s really what this comes down to. What stood out most is how much things have changed. Years ago, euthanasia rates were around 70% or higher. Today it’s down to roughly 3–5%. Now they’re dealing with more animals coming in and rising costs. The focus is keeping things where they are and making sure it doesn’t start sliding backward. That’s why continued support, and even having a real conversation about increasing funding for animal control, matters. If you live in Josephine County, this directly affects your community. Misinformation - Season 2 , Episode 8
Send us Fan MailI’m finally back with a new episode of the Josephine County Republican Podcast after taking a little break and spending some time in Curaçao.In this episode I talk about something that is becoming a serious problem in our country and even here in our own community. Misinformation on the internet.Social media is full of memes, headlines, screenshots, and viral posts that are designed to make people angry before they ever check if something is actually true. In this episode I explain what a meme is, why they spread so quickly, and why both the left and the right need to slow down and verify things before sharing them.We also talk about a few recent examples of misinformation circulating online and why it is important to go directly to real sources like the FBI, DOJ, and official statements instead of trusting viral posts.I also share a few photos from my trip to Curaçao and talk about some possible upcoming interviews including Josephine County Commissioners Colene Martin and Gary Richardson along with a possible interview with Dr. Frank. Also coming up very soon is the Patriots Conference on March 28 at the Josephine County Fairgrounds.Tickets https://www.zeffy.com/en-US/organizations/josephine-county-republican-central-committee-pac--319Take a few minutes to watch and let me know what you think.#JosephineCounty #GrantsPass #SouthernOregon #JosephineCountyRepublican #Politics #Podcast #LocalPolitics #FactCheck #Misinformation #SocialMedia #FreeSpeech #FirstAmendment #Community #TruthMatters

Ron Smith's Recusal Part 3 , Season 2 - Episode 5
Send us Fan MailThis episode walks through the public record step by step so people can see the timeline for themselves. (This episode won't make sense unless you watch the last one)On December 4, Ron Smith personally made the motion to move forward with the process to fill a vacancy on the Board of County Commissioners. He stated the process was appropriate, there was no discussion or objection raised, and he voted in favor of it along with the rest of the Board. The motion passed unanimously.Between December 4 and December 12, the meeting minutes show no objections, no concerns raised about the process, and no statements claiming it was improper or that anyone had been excluded. On December 12, Ron formally recused himself from the appointment process. After that date, he publicly stated that the process was improper and involved what he described as backroom deals. Those explanations appear in local newspaper reporting and in a radio interview he gave after the December 4 vote. They do not appear in the minutes at the time the process was approved. To be clear, we only know what is in the public record. We know what the minutes say, what was reported in the newspaper, and what Ron said publicly on the radio. We do not know what may have happened behind the scenes or what Ron personally encountered, and this episode does not rule anything out. What the record does show is that if there were objections to the process, they were not raised in a public meeting when the decision was made. Instead, Ron later recused himself and then deliberately missed nine properly noticed meetings whose sole purpose was to carry out a mandatory Charter duty. Each of those meetings required staff preparation, notice, and time, costing taxpayers money while no action could be taken. This episode does not ask listeners to attack anyone. It simply lays out what happened, in order, using the public record, and asks whether objections to government process should be raised publicly and on the record rather than through inaction after the fact. Please make sure to check out Bill Meyer’s Podcast here : https://kmed.com/billmeyer/ and http://www.billmeyershow.com/ as well as his Facebook Page here : https://www.facebook.com/BillMeyerShowTo watch these episodes in order of the Ron’s Recusal Saga Episode 1 : https://youtu.be/egnhAXMCGgAEpisode 2 : https://youtu.be/9zWlRLUvj24Episode 3 : This Episode you are about to watch right?

Ron Smith's Recusal Part 2 , Season 2 - Episode 4
Send us Fan MailThis episode documents how county business in Josephine County has stalled, including what Commissioner Ron Smith told the public via our local newspaper, what actions followed, and what the County Charter, County Code, and Oregon law actually require.VIDEO IS HERE : https://youtu.be/9zWlRLUvj24It explains why the 30-day language in the Charter does not necessarily remove a sitting commissioner’s authority, why recusal does not eliminate the duty to vote, and how repeated inaction has delayed required county action at taxpayer expense. The episode also examines a confirmed case in Jefferson County, West Virginia, where two county commissioners deliberately skipped meetings to avoid voting on the appointment of a new commissioner, denying quorum and stopping county business. (sound familiar folks?) Those commissioners were arrested, charged with 42 misdemeanor counts for failure to perform official duties, and removed from office, with the removals upheld by the state Supreme Court. This is a fact-based breakdown of law, conduct, and outcome, presented so the public can understand how refusing to act can carry serious consequences. This West Virginia case was outlined here : https://apnews.com/article/west-virginia-tricia-jackson-jennifer-krouse-jefferson-county-21e9eeecefe7e2b759a0f93661bce6b2

Big Iron on his Hip - Season 2, Episode 3
Send us Fan MailFacts make them melt down. Youtube Link : https://youtu.be/B5cZNBHKtsIBring receipts, logic, law, or statistics and suddenly you’re “offensive.” Correct them and you’re “dangerous.” Disagree and you’re labeled evil, a bigot, or a threat to democracy. Why? Because they don’t debate. They deflect. When feelings replace facts, the truth gets labeled as hate speech. This podcast exists for one reason: to challenge nonsense with reality. We debate. We show proof. We welcome questions. We invite disagreement. And that’s exactly what drives them crazy. I’ve watched it happen over and over in local Facebook groups. Facts get buried. Lies get repeated. Anyone who steps in with evidence gets muted, blocked, banned, or threatened. Not because they’re wrong, but because they’re right. So here’s a challenge to you! Don’t take my word for anything. Use Google. Use ChatGPT. Look it up yourself. Ask the question they don’t want you asking: Have the 2025 Josephine County Commissioners been convicted of crimes? Have there been ethics violations? Criminal investigations? Findings by the DOJ, DA, FBI, Secretary of State, or Ethics Commission? You won’t find any. None. Zero Partner! This show is for people who are tired of being talked down to, gaslit, and fed recycled talking points. If you believe in thinking for yourself, questioning everything, and calling out lies with evidence, you’re in the right place. They can threaten. They can gossip. They can make things up on the fly. I’m still here. And I’m not going anywhere. You bring the lies. I’ll bring the facts. And I’ll keep shooting them down, old-west style. Welcome to the show.

My Response to the Agitators - Season 2, Episode 2
Send us Fan MailSee the Video on Youtube : https://youtu.be/h24mGKFbq1UHey folks, in this episode I put two documents on the screen that were released today and walk through what they actually say, not what certain groups want you to believe they say.One document comes from Restore Josephine County, the same group actively pushing recalls against county commissioners. They claim this “isn’t about personalities or politics,” while doing exactly that. We also look at a second document criticizing the commissioners’ white paper and asking the public to trust materials produced by recall organizers instead of official county information released by the county. In this Episode We cover:Why calling something a “fact” doesn’t make it oneHow manufactured controversy keeps getting blamed on the people responding to itThe library issue, what changed, and why county taxpayers were paying maintenance on a non-county enterprise. Why the previous Commissioners & Chris Barnett , Andreas Blech and Ron Smith did the right thing. Why private Facebook pages turning off comments is not a First Amendment issueAnd why recalls should be based on real misconduct, not political disagreementEverything discussed is shown on screen so you can read it for yourself and decide where you land.See the last episode here : https://youtu.be/KDZnSkZYazA Like Subscribe Turn on Notifications Comment Share

Clarity, Not Conflict: Understanding the Mandamus Filing in Josephine County
Send us Fan MailThere has been a lot of noise, speculation, and misinformation surrounding Commissioner Ron Smith, the appointment process, and the recently filed Petition for Writ of Mandamus in Josephine County. This video is intended to calmly explain what is actually happening and, just as importantly, what is not. A writ of mandamus is not a punishment, a threat, or a political attack. It is a legal tool used to ask a court to clarify whether an elected official has a mandatory duty under the law or whether lawful abstention is permitted under specific circumstances. In this case, the petition asks the Circuit Court to clarify the scope of Commissioner Ron Smith’s duties under the Josephine County Home Rule Charter, specifically Section 24 regarding the filling of vacancies. This action was not filed to pressure, bully, or intimidate Commissioner Smith. There is no court order, injunction, or stay in place, and the petition does not seek to compel a specific vote or outcome. It simply asks for legal clarity so county government can function lawfully, transparently, and without ongoing uncertainty. We respect Commissioner Smith and stand behind him. While the judicial process plays out, we encourage everyone to remain polite, respectful, and diplomatic. Personal attacks, threats, and social media outrage do not help and only distract from the real issue: ensuring county government operates within the bounds of the law. If you have questions or concerns about the mandamus process, the Charter, or the appointment issue, feel free to reach out directly rather than relying on rumors or commentary designed to inflame rather than inform. This is about responsibility, not pressure. Clarity, not conflict. Lawful governance, not chaos. Part II - More Angry Democrats!
Send us Fan MailYou all saw the video above showing the vandalism and hostility coming from recall organizers toward us and other citizens. Now you will see what the Commissioners have been dealing with week after week at public meetings at the Ann Basker Auditorium. As I mentioned in the video, I want people to see the pattern of behavior that has existed since day one. From the moment these men took office, a small group of people created disruption and chaos, repeatedly threatening a recall both on social media and in person. At the time, they did not have a legitimate reason. But of course they brought up weekly a decade-old civil case that was already well known when Chris ran for Commissioner, yet the threats continued anyway. This recall was not spontaneous. It was always part of the plan. In this video, you will see how these individuals conducted themselves. Keep in mind, this is not an attempt to disparage or single out anyone personally. There is a designated three-minute public comment period at these weekly meetings where citizens are allowed to speak their minds. What you are seeing did not happen once or twice. Incidents like this occurred almost EVERY SINGLE WEEK throughout the year. I will be highlighting only some of the most outrageous moments.

Please vote "NO" on the recall of Commissioner Barnett
Send us Fan MailBE SURE TO VISIT THE RECALL SITE FOR DETAILED INFORMATION AND REBUTTALS ON THE RECALL : https://www.jocorepublicans.org/page/no-on-recallThe Josephine County Republican Party Central Committee voted unanimously to support Commissioner Chris Barnett and oppose his recall. While there are always disagreements over decisions made by public officials, Chris Barnett has shown himself to be a strong conservative and has done nothing to warrant a recall. Chris Barnet is currently spending this Christmas season opposing his recall so he can continue his work for the county. Please help him by voting NO and immediately turning in your ballot. We hope you have a wonderful Christmas and New Year! Please Vote No on the Recall - Ballots are due no Later than January 6th. The recall effort against Chris Barnett was spearheaded by a disgruntled former employee. County employees earn up to $150,000 or more including benefits. The income of tax payers who pay for them is far lower. Our county needs employees, but responsible use of our tax-money must be made by our commissioners. It is their job to decide which employees the county needs. 1) Rumors are circulated that a recall attempt will be made unless the elected official does as requested. 2) Next, a well-funded and Democrat supported operation sets up a signature gathering effort with one-sided claims about the official. These accusations do not tell the whole story and are often outright false, but they are used as an excuse to gather signatures. 3) The timing of the recall effort is designed to force a special election which costs the county $50,000 or more to run. Since it is a special election, turnout is often low and many Josephine County voters who would oppose the recall don’t realize that to oppose it they must vote and vote NO. 4) Furthermore, because a special recall election has been scheduled, voters who are short on time to investigate are led to believe that the public official did something wrong. Our commissioners should not be subject to these kinds of constant threats. We need to stop this cycle, by voting NO and rejecting the recall. The Josephine County Republican party has investigated this matter and concluded that Chris Barnett has done nothing which warrants a recall.

Ron Smith's Recusal Part 1
Send us Fan MailIn this episode, I talk through Commissioner Ron Smith decision to recuse himself from the vacancy appointment process and why it has raised questions across the community. I want to be clear that I support our Commissioners and I support Ron Smith. This discussion is not an attack. It is an effort to walk through the law, the County Charter, and the responsibilities tied to the office. Much of the online conversation has focused on ORS 244 and what it does and does not require, along with what the Josephine County Home Rule Charter says about filling a vacancy. I cover that ground, but I also go further and look at recent situations around the country where government officials attempted to step away from mandatory decisions and how courts and the public responded. The goal of this episode is context, not controversy. I hope Ron listens, and I hope this helps bring clarity to a complicated issue at an important moment for Josephine County.

Send us Fan MailLet me be clear and take responsibility for this. At the time, the information I had pointed toward Rogue Indivisible, and we still have photo evidence showing their presence at the initial meeting where the recall of the commissioners was discussed. That meeting was focused on how to pursue a recall, and based on the information available to me then, I made several videos reflecting that understanding. After later reviewing records from the Secretary of State and submitting formal public records requests, I learned that neither Rogue Indivisible nor CRG organized or funded the recall. Their involvement was limited to volunteering at signature tables, which is their legal and civic right, regardless of political disagreement. I also want to be clear that I regret what Matt Spurlock was put through as a result of my earlier statements. He did not organize the recall, he did not finance it, and he was simply exercising his right to speak out on issues he believed in. I should have corrected the record sooner, and I take responsibility for that. At the same time, I want to state plainly that I still fully support our commissioners. Acknowledging where I was wrong does not change my belief that the commissioners acted in good faith and did nothing illegal or immoral and deserve our support. What I believe should have been done since day one of this recall was to debate the recall list itself. Which I did write the "Debunked" papers about halfway through the recall process but unfortunately the entire campaign about Rogue Indivisible was far more damaging to our Commissioners than the ones trying to recall them in my opinion. It made the public think that we were reaching for a fantasy and blaming a conspiracy theory instead of facing the truth.

December the Seventh
Send us Fan MailSupport our Commissioners Website has been Updated with the latest Documents as I showed in the last post. Download the documents and share them with your neighbors, send them to your contacts on your phone , show them the website if they are living on the county and registered to vote the special election is coming and people need to know the truth. Download the White Pages an the Fact Sheets here : https://www.jocorepublicans.org/page/no-on-recall Note:The financial figures referenced on this website and this podcast are taken from commissioner-produced White Papers dated September 14, 2025. These figures were based on assumptions at that time, including that certain positions would remain unfilled. Subsequent county finance records indicate that some positions were later refilled or budgeted to be refilled, which may reduce recurring savings. The September 2025 figures should be understood as estimates based on conditions at that time, not as verified ongoing savings.

Interview #2 With Commissioner Barnett
Send us Fan MailHey Folks, So I did the FIRST interview with Commissioner Barnett here just a bit ago. We decided to do one thing at a time , one point at a time so the Commissioner and I picked the Library Topic to tackle first. This is one of the recall reasons by Jim Goodwin on www.restorejoco.com 4) Voted in January 2025 to prematurely cancel the lease agreement of the GP Library District branch and in March 2025 paid for Facebook advertising to spread an article that was advocating against the Library’s interests. There will be MORE INTERVIEWS coming up this week or next week I would like to cover all the points on this recall with both Commissioners if possible.

New Intro Song + Request to the Commissioners
Send us Fan MailI’ve sent a request to all three Josephine County Commissioners to meet with me individually and go through each point listed in the recall petitions filed by Jim Goodwin. My goal is to give the people of Josephine County the chance to hear directly from the Commissioners, in their own words, about each claim that’s been made. For safety and fairness, these meetings will be held one-on-one at an undisclosed location. Regardless of whether you’re Republican, Democrat, Independent, Libertarian, Green or NAV, you’ll be able to tune in and hear their side of the story straight from them, not from supporters at volunteer tables or social media commentary by myself and others. Though I can't promise that the Commissioners will accept my invitation hopefully this happens with at least ONE who is being recalled.

November 25th, 2025
Send us Fan MailIn this episode, I talk about what happened during the recall effort of Joseph Rice, from the early confusion to the weeks of work and the official confirmation from the Oregon Republican Party that everything was done correctly. We now have a functioning leadership team with a Chair, Vice Chair, Secretary, and a Treasurer Pro Tem, and our party is growing stronger every day. Over the past few weeks, hundreds of people have come down to sign the gas tax referendum, new volunteers have stepped up, and the Josephine County Republican Party is organized, active, and thriving. Unfortunately, a few former PCPs who resigned have taken to social media to spread misinformation, stir up drama, and even call us a "cult." I talk openly about why we are done tolerating toxic behavior in our online groups. Free speech is welcome, but lying, harassment, and nonstop trolling are not. Our social media spaces are here to build community, not tear people down. I also share a message of grace. I genuinely wish those individuals well and hope they find something positive to focus on. But moving forward, our party deserves peace, honesty, and a place where people can contribute without being attacked. This episode is about closure, clarity, and confidence in where we are headed. 👍 Like, Subscribe, and Share If you support transparency, integrity, and building a stronger community, hit that like button and share this episode with your friends.

November 3rd Workshop -- Homeless Grant Part 3
Send us Fan MailWell congratulations to Elk for winning the grant. I am not bashing any of the applicants whatsoever I supported and spoke with all three of them myself over the last few months. There seems to still be confusion as to whether or not ANY OF THEM had actual secured properties during this RFP process. I just wanted to pick out a few sections of today's workshop to share and also highlight what had already been said and was public information multiple times. FOIA request the applications and or if they are released you can decide for yourself the wording in the end there are people who are just as confused as me. Let the record be straight that our Mayor and City Attorney has and continue to state that there were NO SECURED PROPERTY among all three applicants. Thank you Erich for making that clear to the public today I think that there has been some heat on our council and mayor so now we have the truth. (Which I have been saying this whole time but here it is)

Fair, Legal, and on the Record: What Really Happened With the Homeless Grant.
Send us Fan MailWhat this episode covers: RFP requirements (≥150 capacity, ADA access, 24/7 managed, 6-month go-live). The two tiers of disqualifiers (mandatory vs. optional/mitigable). Why only Tender Technologies was disqualified, on the record. Why the Pathways “improper communication” motions failed—twice—after public debate and votes. Why “unacceptable location” = zoning/code, not popularity. Why continuing to interview and score reduces legal risk and improves outcomes.
