I am back again with a different kind of format. Some 'bathtub' storytelling, (as if I'm) talking to a friend, sharing about a somewhat adventurous afternoon, where I lost my phone. Enjoy! And if you like it, tell a friend.

I guess I'm back. It has been a while. Life took over, we changed years, I traveled for almost a month and moved house. Then, recently, after finding myself in the countryside again, where I stare at the green and blue of nature on a daily basis, right from my veranda, my creativity came back to me at full force. I have to share it with you all, or I will go crazy or possibly explode. I'm sure you understand. Today, I bring you a very special podcast and not just because of the waterfall background soundtrack ;<) It took me 3 and a half months, but I finally managed to get a guest on: a dear friend and a highly creative one - someone who is pretty much breathing art and has done so for a huge part of her life. Clare is a woman from Scotland, who has been living in Italy for almost 15 years. I had wanted to have her on the show for quite some time now, but today we finally found a way that fits both of us and on a topic that is close to our heart. I basically recorded a voice message to her, ( as we tend to do almost daily, at this moment in time ) and she replied to it ( aware of the fact that I would share this in my podcast ). Clare is a great storyteller ( not a summarizer, I can relate ) and tends to share personal stories in a beautiful way. You gotta love her voice too. I sure do. Today I talk about my move back into game making, using the same tool I used back in 2019, when I invented the Hypersensitivosaurus character. A different kind of episode, for a change. Today I felt like talking about a realization that I had, as of late, as I'm getting more and more into philosoraptor mode. This time I give you a 'walkie talkie' on the importance of deep thinking and having a dialogue with fellow artists/ creatives to keep the creativity flowing and do the real important work. I returned from a two week trip to The Netherlands Today I share some thoughts on finishing my books, two weeks ago. I also talk about the three C's: my Creative process, Coffee and Cats.

A friend reached out to me with some encouraging feedback on my podcast and as I was on a walk, at a spot near the river ( see picture ) where I've recorded several episodes, I decided to record a new episode, while text chatting with him, thereby adding some sort of LIVE element. Today, while on a walk, I talk about it being okay to not create, at times, about the importance of not forcing the creative process ( for me ). I also share about having done a similar thing, yesterday, while being on a 'Co-Creation' video call with three fellow creators. The four of us shared stories about our creative process, talked about art and life and so much more. And, all the while, they created and I did not create anything ;>) but it led to some new ideas. I am really in the flow again with editing my book and, all of a sudden, April the 21st feels like an easy goal to make. Today I talk a little about the editing process, on yet another change of mind on ( not ) using illustrations and on having fun with endnotes.

I talk about a creative insight I had, this afternoon, a change in my creative process, that makes a lot of sense.

On slowing down the creative process and not feeling bad about it, eventhough I recently set a goal to ( try and ) finish my book and it's not far away.

I recorded this one at the river, just after breakfast ( that tasted like soap ). I am now one week without coffee and it hasn't been easy. Life is still an emotional mental and physical rollercoaster. I am sure many of you can relate. Not much happening on the creative front but I'll keep taking baby steps, trying not to be too hard on myself. Hope you like the little perfectly imperfect ukulele intro and outro that I added. Three days ago, after falling sick, I decided to quit coffee ( not for the first time ). And, being the sensitive creature that I am, I went through some serious withdrawal symptoms. A similar situation, two and a half years ago, made me invent a character called 'Cold Turkey', who became one of the main characters in my Hypersensitivosaurus stories and, later, the co star of the upcoming 'Hypersensitivosaurus and Cold Turkey'. I talk about the creative process of Hypersensitivosaurus and Cold Turkey and the moments I shared the story with others and give an update on my current process. I used to be a filmmaker, but the last project ended over 4 years ago, it was one of many cancelled projects. I also used to be a film teacher, several times, teaching people from all kinds of ages. Today, my twin sister asked me whether I want to teach some school kids ( including my own niece and nephew ) filmmaking. It triggered a trauma, connected to film teaching experiences from the past and I decided to talk about it with you all and get it off my chest.

Just one of those days. Those that we often don't share about with others. But hey, I'm not the 'small talk' type and just talking about it, instead of staying quiet, already makes me feel better :^)

I talk about today's meetup with a fellow former filmmaker, the possibility of hosting movie nights at a nearby creative space, editing my book, lino carving, burning art/ letting go and the first bit of feedback on my podcast.
