I recently came across an article written by The Sportster entitled "10 Tropes That Make No Sense." After reading this article, I found that I agreed with some of the Tropes and disagreed with others. I also felt this would be a great subject for a podcast episode. So here we are. After hearing the Tropes, please let me know what you think. All comments are welcomed.

Over the past several years, there has been a decline in individuals learning how to play instruments. This is especially true with our youth. In this episode I express the importance of our youth learning how to play an instrument or learning to sing. We, as parents and family members must support the youth when they show an interest in learning an instrument and beginning their musical life journey.

This was a challenge for me to share.

I must admit, there is something special about some one like todays guest...ABBY K! She is an individual who has faced adversity within this thing we call "the music business". Through all of that, ABBY K has remained determined and steadfast in her music al journey. This is a woman who has the intestinal fortitude to make a name for herself, not only in the Independent Music Scene, but in all of modern music. This is a fantastic interview with ABBY K. On this episode of TMoLR, I speak about a video I viewed on YouTube concerning the future of Rock and Metal. I also chat with SoHi about some new and exciting news that is coming from their camp. It is a jam-packed episode of The Mind of Little Rage.

MAXIMUS was one of the very first interviews I was able to bring you on this program. Since then, I have been able to meet Blackie and get to know him. He has an innate sense of integrity when it comes to his music. In the last several months, MAXIMUS has been to hell and back. This first episode of season 7 is over a year-and-a-half in the making. Yvonne Loveland, the Queen of Voodoo Queen Management is my guest today. VQM is what a management company should be. Placing focus on the musicians, and not on herself. Yvonne has become a trusted confidant and friend over the lifespan of this podcast. Yvonne gives us a look into not only VQM, but herself as well. It is full of laughter and downright poignant discussion.  This is  an episode that should be listened to  with open ears. The advise and insight provided by Yvonne is something that can be applied, not only to the music business, but in all business, and life in general.

I get excited when we have a returning guest. On this episode of TMoLR, we have just that. Scott from FALLING INTO RED returns to bring us up to speed on what he has been up to. As I stated in the last episode, Independent Music is at a crossroads. In todays episode I am begging for all of us to come together and establish some form of infrastructure for Indie Music. I have also been given a golden opportunity to participate in a workshop that could affect the Music Industry in Houston, TX. I need and want your ideas for this opportunity. I can be your voice to share your ideas, please use me as your voice!

I stole another topic from the band Foust. It is a good one. Independent music is at a crossroads. The musicians and fans do a phenomenal job of promotion with the tools available but there needs to be more. In this episode I look at the limitations of the tools we have, and possible solutions to the issue. Please share your ideas with me. These are some random thoughts and ideas I have formulated over the past week. I am also asking for your input to improve the show.

We start of season 6 with a potentially controversial topic. Can bands in Hard Rock and Heavy Metal still be original? Is originality in music even objective? Why are bands even worried about it? Is it something bands should strive for? As musicians, what is more important, originality, or writing good or great songs?

This has been the most challenging and frustrating topic I have ever tackled. It is something that should be discussed. As divisive as politics in America are, we should always strive to find common ground and be mindful of the words we use. In this current setting, we need to come together and stop the growing division. Our political words must be stated in logic and not on emotion alone.

I want to bridge any gap between myself and you, the all important listener. One way to do that is to share my influences outside the world of Heavy Metal. This segment continues our look into the definition of Indie and also explores what determines when a band is no longer Indie or Umderground. Some may disagree with my comments, and I invite your responses.

This is a point of contention that has been discussed for decades. In part one of this series, we try to define what Independent and Underground means in the world of music.

In the final installment asking the question "Should DSP services pay more" we look at payouts received by 2 different artists. We also explore terrestrial radio royalties. Are these DSP services playing by a different set of rules? Are we getting accurate information from streaming services? Check out this episode to get my opinion.

This episode proved to be eye-opening and infuriating at the same time. Unfortunately, it turnes into a hit-piece on Spotify. I hope part 2 is informative for you. I hope I didn't make a total ass of myself today.

The question of platforms like Spotify, Apple, and Amazon paying musicians fairly has been a discussion that has raged for a while. In part 1 of answering this question, we will get a better idea of how these DSP's operate as it pertains to revenue generation and royalty payout rates.

Live music venues all over this country are being forced to close. This is a growing trend that we must do everything we can to stop.
