Although the world has gained a broader understanding of equality, there are still individuals that hold on to antiquated mindsets. In this episode, we focus on sexism and how it has impacted opportunities for young women throughout Polk county. We also discuss how gendered expectations have affected mental health. Additionally, we offer advice on what to do when a misguided understanding of gender roles is promoted.

Hispanic Experiences
In this episode of The Mpact, we discuss the joys and adversities of being Hispanic in America. According to the PEW Research Center, one seventh of Polk County residents are Hispanic and the distribution of this population is uneven, creating enclaves and deserts of Latin culture. Here, students reminisce their heritage, share their family's history, and offer advice for young Latinos in modern America.
