    Headletter

    The driving forces behind Newcastle's disbanded sleepeaser have recently teamed up to create the brand new alt-rock fit Headletter. The band features Jake Hewish, Matthew Marsh, Alex McWhirter and Damo Edwards. They’re set to release their debut single ‘Bad Idea’ this Friday and will back it up with a launch show on June 24 at the Hamilton Station Hotel!

    Abbi Yeo

    Abbi Yeo is an incredible local singer/songwriter. Her debut EP ‘Perfect Silence’ was was well loved and since then, she’s released an epic single called ‘Deserter’. Abbi is about to release a brand new single and has a launch gig coming up this Friday to celebrate!

    Spuz

    Spuz are a 7 piece fusion band led by Andrew de Souza. They take your favourite elements of funk and give them a modern flair - they are a must-see live band. We are joined by Matt Woodcock and Naomi Blanch following their set at The Gum Ball Festival 2023 on Wonnarua Country.

    Veldar

    The next muso that I’m welcoming onto the show is Sam Madden aka absolute bass guitar wizard formally known as Veldar. He also has a gig tomorrow night at The Stag to celebrate the release of some new tunes!

    Midway

    Midway is a freshly three-piece surf/garage rock band from Newy. They’ve released 6 singles and are set to drop their debut EP mid April. Despite being a small band in size, Midway has one of the biggest live sounds to ever pass through Newcastle. I’m joined by Mason, Kade and Jordan from Midway for a huge announcement!

    Elestial

    Indie/pop band Elestial are days away from releasing their debut EP Delphinium which will be celebrated with a launch party on April 1st at The Cambridge Hotel. Elyssa joins us to chat about the inspiration behind the EP, her journey as a musician and also a recent event that she coordinated.

    Baam Bam

    Baam Bam is a loud and raw two-piece that features Dan Flegg on vocals and guitar and Stuart Moppett on the drums. Baam Bam has released a single called Schweetums and played some eccentric and creative gigs. Baam Bam is about to take part in a unique event within the Newcastle Writers Festival called 'Words and Music'.

    Mishayla

    Mishayla is a local singer/songwriter known for her soulful melodies and honest lyrics. Mishayla has so far released two singles and is set to release her debut EP in the coming months.

    GUM BALL: Young Gums

    In my day to day in the music industry I am very grateful for the musicians, venues and experiences I get to see. One of the most magical moments in my career so far has been stumbling across Dashville and the incredible community that makes it thrive. Each year Dashville is home to incredible festivals like Thrashville, Dashville Skyline and Gumball which is approaching very quickly. Gabe from Turpentine Babycino joins me to talk about an incredible opportunity for young lovers of music.

    Goon Gremlins

    Indie/garage rock band Goon Gremlins released a brand new single called ‘Attention Span’ on Valentines Day. Forming post pandemic, Goon Gremlins have played plenty of gigs and are sure to capture the hearts of grunge lovers.

    Melody Pool has returned with a brand new EP called Lost In Time. It’s filled with experimentation, honesty and melodies that will melt your heart. Melody joins us in studio for a chat about the EP, her return to music and all things in between.

    Tonight we're chatting to incredible singer/songwriter Angela Rose following the release of '24'. This single is euphoric, vulnerable and an instant earworm. We also hear a LIVE track from Kingsley James prior to his hometown gig at The Stag and Hunter Hotel

    Following his return home to Maitland, Kingsley James joins us for a mid-tour catch up. Rod Coote has just released a brand new single called 'Oceanside' which is an ode to Newcastle despite his recent move to Naarm!     This week we are joined by the band that has flipped the local music scene on its head, Well?. Internationally acclaimed guitarist Adam Miller pops into the studio for a chat and a live performance. We also dive deep into the career so far of local creative genius, Wanagi.     This week we are joined by local singer/songwriter Max Jackson who is the 42nd winner of the Toyota Star Maker Award and has just released a cosmic single called 'Stratosphere'. The Tryouts join us prior to their upcoming tour and following the release of their debut single as well as the winners of the UON Band Competition for 2022, Acacia Blue. We get to hear exclusive LIVE tracks from the Bout Time Festival, courtesy of Chris Barnett, featuring Piper Butcher and Abbi Yeo!

    Alyssa Salamon, Manuel Rohl and Lachlan X. Morris

    This week we popped on to the streets of Newcastle West to capture some special interviews as part of West Best Bloc Fest with two standouts from the lineup - Manuel Rohl and Lachlan X. Morris. We are also joined by Alyssa Salamon, known for her work as Alpha Sierra and Lysytsa. Alyssa has always been such a major source of encouragement for everyone around her, including myself so it was a privilege to get to chat with her. We also get to spin some beautiful LIVE tracks from Elestial and Bree Rusev.

The winner of the 2021 Steel City 50, Abbi Yeo joins us to discuss her influences and chat about her mindblowing songwriting. Aaron White and Chloe Parker chat to us ahead of their performance at Lizotte's Live n' Local. We also hear exclusive live tracks from Chloe Gill and The Appointments!
