The Over Indulgence Podcast Episode 019 – The De-Deadening

Time flies when you're having fun doesn't it? So we're not dead, we're still around and talking bollocks for people to listen to. The whole crew is here for Episode 19 which doesn't really have a focal point, it was just good to get everyone together and talk considering the lives we all lead. This episode is called The De-Deadening, purely to advise that we're alive. Griff and Korthal have started a little side project called Loading Savestate in which they're posting content on everything Indie Gaming. All of the information for Loading Savestate and social media outlets can be found on their site. Remember to check out and sign up to the Dollar Shave Club service, remember we have a promotional code (SHAVEMYBACK) that will get you your third month free! It's an awesome service and my face thanks me for doing it. Also if you like what you hear please make sure to head over to our Stitcher channel and subscribe! Or hit up our iTunes subscription too. Every little bit counts! Now, we don't have a link dump as of yet, due to time constraints and people working. Keep an eye on space, or make us one and send @TheOICrew a tweet based off what you've got.

The Over Indulgence Podcast Episode 018 – Thanks Obama

After the massive extravaganza that was PAX we're happy to be settled in back home and well rested enough to get together and pump out a podcast. With that in mind, we have decided to bring in Alex (Griff's housemate) who has been hounding us for months to be able to join us for an episode. As Beaves was unavailable we figured stuff it, why not? Also, due to the city being closed for G20... Thanks Obama... The primary point of discussion seemed to centre around both the abortion that seems to be Assassins Creed: Unity as well as Ubisoft and their practices in general. Whilst this was topical to begin with, it quickly degenerated into talk of /r/ScaryBilbo (NSFW) as well as Fleshlight. All in all, for a quick get together with no real organisation, I think it turned out pretty well. Over Indulgence Podcast – PAX Aus Day 3 Wrap Up

Day 3... Let me tell you about Day 3 of PAX Australia. After a massively hectic weekend of walking around from 8am onwards each day, it was exhausting! But it was still a hell of a lot of fun! We managed to get in straight away and jump right into more interviews with as many people as we could around the expo. Of course we tried to spend some of the day actually playing some of the games as well, but we still managed quite a few interviews! The previous night, Griff and Korthal went off to the Wargaming.net PR Event on the Polly Woodside which was an amazing location, the ship was fantastic, they provided food and drinks and we ran around talking to other Media personalities and exchanging details. During this, Scarecrow was off at the Star Citizen event which we have heard many many good things about. Again, another great event with some fantastic people to continue networking with. Immediately as we entered the building at 10am once the doors opened, Scarecrow and Griff went straight to the Smite booth for an interview. Straight from there the boys headed to the Xbox Pavilion to have a chat with some of the developers for Never Alone which looks amazing and Griff thoroughly enjoyed. During this period Korthal was running around chasing up emails from Developers who had asked us to come check out there wares. Korthal met up with the boys as they were finishing up the Never Alone interview and dragged them along to check out Spookmash, which is an AWESOME little MOBA being developed by indie studio Porcelain Knight where we talked with Yu for quite some time about this awesome little game. From here, lunch was a must! After we had eaten, we all went back in and met up with some friends. We decided our final day we should spend the afternoon playing around in the Indie Pavillion as we'd not really had time prior to do so. Korthal and Griff checked out a bunch of different Indie titles, some notable ones we played and had a chat with the devs were Tasty Fish, Rogue Singularity and Satellite Reign. Finally, Korthal had succumbed to the dreaded PAX Pox and headed back to the Hotel around 4pm. During this time Griff and Scarecrow headed on over to the Wargaming Booth to sit down with some of the team and discuss World of Warships and much more! After such a long day Scarecrow wrapped up by having a chat with some of the Artists that were in the Hallway along the building, these guys were super super talented, so check them out! Leigh McDonald, Flick, Katrina Young, Daniel Buchanan, Peter McDonald. All of our interviews will be going up over the coming days, some of which the audio wasn't that great (thanks to a certain booth...) so we've thrown up transcripts for those interviews. All of the aforementioned interviews will have more details in their own specific posts, so be sure to check them out! We hope you enjoy our Day 3 wrap up!

The Over Indulgence Interview Podcast 003 – Alienware

During our time at PAX Aus we were fortunate enough to get to have a chat with Joe Olmsted (The Director of Product Planning) and Jeff Morris (General Manager of End User Computing in Australia/NZ) from Alienware. Now if you don't know who Alienware are, they are an off-shoot of Dell Computers who are dedicated to building top of the line Gaming Computers. Scarecrow flew solo with this interview and discussed a range of their products and features both new and existing that they were showing off in the Alienware Booth this year. Part of this line up was the Alienware 13" Gaming Laptop a solid little machine that can easily power whatever games you're looking to run. Also on display was the Area-51 Desktop an absolute beast of a machine with a design sure to make jaws drop in awe as your friends come over to visit. Lastly is the Alienware Alpha, a neat little media computer perfect for your home entertainment systems or to run as a Steambox using the Steam OS. Whatever your fancy, if you like Alienware you'll definitely want to have a listen to this interview! Let us know what you think!

Over Indulgence Podcast – PAX Aus Day 2 Wrap Up

Day 2 of PAX Australia was insane... We apologise on the delay on getting this up, but there were technical issues with the Internet Connection at the end of Day 2! We spent as much time as possible heading to as many booths to chat with everyone! We wanted to see and hear as many stories as possible, no matter how small or how big! SkeelsyShoota from the QuadFeed Podcast along with his co-hosts Ben and Castro we're handed the reigns for this wrap up cast as Scarecrow was off gallivanting about the town (i.e. rubbing shoulders with people at the Star Citizen event). The day started off early again, we wanted to get in as quickly as possible to check out whatever we could. Whilst Ben wasn't even at the Event he definitely had some words to say about what he saw as our roving reporter out on the streets of Melbourne as we Alpha/Beta Tested PAX Aus for his triumphant entrance on Day 3. Griff goes on to tell us about how we lined up to play some Super Smash Bros. Wii in the Nintendo Booth, Castro and Griff teamed up against Korthal in #IDARB again where Korthal (once again) destroyed them. We went to check out Screen Cheat which is an epic little game that we're all pretty excited to get together with some drinks to play. Skeelsy went to check out the 'For the Love of Gaming' Panel and then we all discussed the rest of what we checked out, including our lunch trip in which we were super looking forward to a Reuben where they were sold out. There was discussion on the queues throughout the event and some of the bigger titles being shown, not that any of us bothered lining up to play. Not to mention the continued mention or 'What an Asshole' at any chance we got and the discussion of #Melbourne and its little quirks. So make sure you jump in and have a listen to our 30 minute wrap up of Day 2 of PAX Australia! Apologies for the delay, keep an eye out for our Day 3 Wrap up due tomorrow morning as well as our Interviews with multiple different people from PAX!

Over Indulgence Podcast – PAX Aus Day 1 Wrap Up

After a long exhausting day browsing the wares and chatting to all the fine people of PAX, the Over Indulgence boys went back to their hotel room where a surprise was in store for them. SkeelsyShoota and Ben from the QuadFeed Podcast we're waiting at the hotel door to come say hey! We grabbed them, dragged them up to the room and started this episode as a wrap up of Day 1 of PAX Australia. Whilst we didn't manage to stay on topic the entire time, we did cover what we managed to see throughout the day. The day began by rocking up at 8am to enter the Hall at 9am with our sexy Media Passes. We spent the first hour before the onslaught of people walking around chatting to whoever we could, including shaking the hands of Jack and Ray of Achievement Hunter (much to Griff's squealing delight!) Went to visit Kim from Defiant Development, then sat down with Adrian from AllCanPlay to interview him on his new Gaming Social Media platform (that Interview can be found here.) After this Griff and Korth walked around for the remaining quiet period checking out some games and other booths around the area whilst Scarecrow headed off to have an interview with Alienware which will be uploaded later this morning! Then the doors opened... The flood of people tore through the hall rushing to their favourite companies or booths to see their favourite things. Griff and Korth wandered over to the Xbox One pavillion to check out some of the titles they had available, including a neat as hell little indie game entitled #IDARB where Korthal destroyed Griff 17 to 3. We then headed over to the Drop Bear Hall to have a listen to Ben Marrinan and Ryan Langley from Halfbrick Studios discuss the process involved in how Halfbrick makes a game. Some great insight and information was presented to the audience, especially for those interested in starting to make their own games. The rest of the day was spent chatting to random punters and seeing how they were enjoying PAX as well as just looking at everything PAX Aus had to offer. We left relatively early (3:30pm) in order to finish up our interviews we had done throughout the morning. Now we're ready for Day 2  with more interviews lined up and some additional information! Make sure to check back later tonight / tomorrow morning for our Wrap Up of Day 2 of PAX Aus as well as any interviews we may have managed to get done!

The Over Indulgence Interview Podcast 002 – AllCanPlay

This morning on Day #1 of PAX Korthal, Griffwah and Scarecrow went to have a chat with Adrian, the creator of AllCanPlay. What is AllCanPlay you ask? Simple, it's a Social Media site built explicitly for gamers. Gamers of any type! Mobile, AAA, Indie, no matter the game you can be sure you'll find people like you to socialise and check out your favourite titles. Whilst this is only new, from what we've heard from Adrian as well as what we have seen and experienced ourselves it is definitely something that could take off and be an amazing social platform. So jump in, have a listen and let us know what you think! If you want to add us you can find Korthal under Christopher Edwards, Griffwah under Christopher Griffiths and we have also created an Over Indulgence Account under Over Indulgence! So jump over and send us a friend request!

Over Indulgence Podcast – The Pre-Pax Episode

The boys arrive in Melbourne with little sleep and a big thirst. After running through the plans for the event, Korth tries to annoy the triads and Griff is griff. If you are listening to this before PAX Aus 2014,  come and find the boys at the event and sit down for a chat.

The Over Indulgence Interview Podcast 001 – Defiant Development

So we've decided to delve into the big bad world of Interviews. We want to look to roll many of these out over the coming weeks and months (ESPECIALLY with PAX this weekend) so we figured why not start our first one with some home grown talent. Griffwah and Scarecrow went to Defiant Development to have a chat with Kim, one of the Associate Producers there regarding the company as well as the inside goss on their upcoming game Hand of Fate. The game is currently in Early Access on Steam and is depicted as a tabletop card game brought to vivid life! Beyond the thirteen gates at the end of the world, the game of life and death is played. Draw your cards, play your hand, and discover your fate. Hand of Fate is a hybrid roguelike/action-RPG/deck builder, in which the player builds a set of cards into a deck, which is then used to deal out the dungeon floors through which they adventure. Upon entering a combat, all of the cards the player has collected fly into their hands as fully modeled 3D assets, and combat begins. Build your deck, enter the world of Hand of Fate, and prepare to face the Ace of Skulls. The boys talked all things gaming, from gaming tattoo comparisons, to the industry in general (let's hear it for local Brisbane AAA Indie-devs!) and of course Hand of Fate itself. If you'd like to hear more about this awesome company and their upcoming titles be sure to have a listen! If you want to jump in and grab Hand of Fate whilst it is still in Early Access then jump over and purchase it on Steam now for $24.99 USD!

The Over Indulgence Podcast Episode 017 – Social Justice Commission

We're back! Long hiatus with good reason. Scarecrow with finding a new house, and the rest being lazy lazy motherfuckers. But we're here again so you can stop worrying! We have (surprisingly) been busy in the time we've been absent between casts, we've managed to get some new recording equipment which we hope shows in this episode, we've organised going to PAX Australia this year (30 days!!!) and hope to see everyone there. We'll be wearing our special sexy Over Indulgence Shirts. So without further ado, please have a listen to this horrible episode and learn about the Social Justice Commission, the greatest guys on the block! With so much time between episodes we had a lot to catch up on, there was music talk, talk (of course) about Destiny and the Clan [Social Justice Commission], a lot of discussion on Diablo 3. Much bitching about Apple and the stupidity that was forced receipt of the U2 Songs of Innocence Album and of course the continued chats on the ALS Ice Bucket Challenges and the different famous people. We of course couldn't finish without talking about Kanye West and his antics whilst in Australia.
