YS Jagan uses taxpayers' money to boost his and his family's image.Andhra Pradesh Chief Minister YS Jagan Mohan Reddy is splurging taxpayers’ money on many doles and freebies, unmindful of its deleterious effect on the future of the state. The new normal does not limit to extending benefits alone. It seeks to reinforce the Reddy family rule as the schemes are named after the chief minister’s family members. This is as if the doles are charity being funded from their personal accounts. The truth is its taxpayers money that is being used to build their image.

Telangana CM K Chandrashekhar Rao is busy in pulling down the old Secretariat and planning to build a swanky new one, while the state in general and Hyderabad, in particular, are reeling under the worst impact of Coronavirus.

Many Central and State Government Institutions, prestigious educational institutions, banking and research institutions, sports academies, cultural and spiritual organisations acquired lands in Amaravati to have their presence in the upcoming capital. However, with CM Jagan's decision to abandon Amaravati, a great opportunity to have the presence of some of the best institutions has been lost.

Even as the protests by farmers of Amaravati have entered 200th day, it is not merely farmers who gave lands to the proposed capital that are at a loss. The state of Andhra Pradesh and the public money that has already been spent on the development of Amaravati is going down the drain. CM Jagan Mohan Reddy's decision to aground Amaravati is an irresponsible action that is causing immense loss of public money.

AP Chief Minister YS Jagan Mohan Reddy has been hunting down his political rivals, especially the opposition TDP leaders, since he assumed power in May 2019. A year into his rule, the YCP government has only gone into overdrive mode in using every arm of the administration to lock up critics or file cases against them.

Modi government is in a fix over Jagan Mohan Reddy's actions with regard to renewable energy projects. Pressure from international investors may lead the Modi government to bring out a law against dumping global agreements once they were signed.

Jagan Mohan Reddy is banking heavily on English medium policy. So much so, that he warned against any party leader from speaking in a different voice. Poor, Raghurama Krishnam Raju, Narsapuram MP, got caught in this crossfire. Clearly, the medium issue is more political and less a revolutionary move.

Andhra Pradesh CM Jagan Mohan Reddy is serious about his fight against corruption. At least, it appears so, given his government's tie-up with Indian Institute of Management, Ahmedabad to tackle the problem in various departments. Ironically, Jagan faces several corruption-related CBI cases.
