    Episode 485: Exploring the Other Passion of Darkly Noon

    The Passion of Darkly Noon kicks off our tenth season celebrating Brendan Fraser History Month, which feels appropriate because it is a film that we only ever became aware of through these annual celebrations.We venture deep into The Forest of this film and eventually make it out the other side to find a deeper appreciation for the Brendan’s abilities as an actor as he takes on one of his scariest roles yet. We also do our best to figure out the message the film is trying to send with its ethereal fantasy storytelling and what we can do to be better after having experienced this parable.

    Episode 79: A Very Special Episode - American Pie Presents: The Naked Mile

    In this very special episode we continue our celebration of the twentieth anniversary of the American Pie franchise with a deep dive into the fifth installment… The Naked Mile. We find a lot more depth in this film and also find a way to better understand the Stiflers that came before we were introduced to distant cousins Erik and Dwight and what their characters might ultimately mean for the series as a whole, but mostly we use to college sex romp as an excuse to reminisce about our own crazy shared collegiate party experiences.

    Episode 484: The Castlevania-Like Report

    This past week Devon gazed through the smoke and interacted with two $10 games that were Castlevania Adjacent “Saint Slayer: Spear of Sacrilege” and “Vampire Crawlers: The Turbo Wildcard from Vampire Survivors” and he is ready to discuss. Then we go on a journey discussing what it means to be an adult by reminiscing about our fast food follies from our youth and then discussing retail practices that somehow make Walmart and Target the lesser of two evils when compared against large corporations and their quest for infinite profit growth.Finally we share our theme and schedule for Brendan Fraser History Month 2026 so the listen can properly prepare for May’s content.

    Episode 482: Feedback and Gameplay Loops

    In this latest episode of the Say Report we start off with Devon admitting to his failure to complete any of the games he had planned to conquer over this past week while Sejohn talks about his own time with Raccoin and how he compares it against similar games in the genre he has spent time with. Then we try to transition to a discussion about The Super Mario Galaxy Movie but get distracted by  the current state of cinema and pause for a brief moment to discuss Disney potentially cancelling the last two Avatar films and why that makes sense from a monetary perspective and also to discuss our thoughts about how successful Avengers: Doomsday will be. Eventually we begin our discussion about the second animated Super Mario film and share why we know it worked for us while also attempting to  figure out why it has inspired such an outcry of disappointment from others.Finally we leave things with a dessert helping of television with a brief update on Best Medicine and our plans for watching the Malcolm in the Middle: Life’s Still Unfair revival

    Episode 480: The Super Mario Bros. Wonder: Nintendo Switch 2 Edition Report

    This episode starts with a heavy examination of the updated Nintendo Switch 2 edition of Super Mario Bros. Wonder based on Devon’s hands on experience. We focus on the changes from the original release and a few opinions on the multiplayer games that make up the bulk of the release. Not to be outdone by Devon’s gaming experiences Sejohn shares his own continuing saga with Pat’s Parabox and Dice A Million.Finally to round out the episode Devon discusses some of the television shows that have premiered in 2026 and his feelings about  just how necessary some of them are.

    Episode 470: What the Sam Hill

    In this episode that received a battlefield promotion from Time Capsule to Excused Absence episode we kick off our examination of the 1996 Tom Arnold Trilogy with Big Bully where we find him starring alongside Rick Moranis.Devon brings a pretty insane but logical theory to the table about the intentions behind the film’s production, while Sejohn rightfully bemoans the wasted potential on display.In the end we pay a nice tribute to Rob Reiner and find the secret underlying beauty of this oft-derided film and learn a little bit about ourselves along the way.

    This episode kicks off with some direct addressing of comments we received after last weeks episode that nicely dovetail into Devon’s final thoughts about Metroid Prime 4: Beyond after finally completing the game. From there we discuss ways that the youth are being infantilized and having those small options for independence taken from them in a world that seems to keep adding restrictions for the population under the age of 18.Next Sejohn shares some of the things he has spent his money from the holidays on from supporting creators to the purchasing of some truly crackerjack collection comic publications. Finally we give a little bit of oxygen to the Winter Olympics that will be kicking off in a few weeks in additions to a brief discussion about the televised entertainment that has premiered so far in 2026.

    Yes you read that right Devon bought a Katana, and that fact leads us into a deeper discussion of the Ninja Gaiden and Shinobi games he has already completed this year and how his experience has been with Silk Song both in and out of the game. Then Sejohn talks about his latest stoppage point with Super Mario Odyssey and his excitement at Borderlands 4 being a bit tempered by some of the unending missions he has found himself involved with on the planet Kairos. Next we discuss Disney. From the Indefinite Preemption of Jimmy Kimmel, to the latest full season drop of Futurama on Hulu, before finally the new released to streaming film “Elio” and trying to figure out why that film ended up as such a non-starter for audiences. It’s rough, it’s raw, we discover our first episode of SNL that we each watched was the same one that featured Christopher Walken as the host deepening our lore, but most importantly this is most certainly an episode of the Say Report and we thank all of you for taking the time to listen.
