The Weeks In Review Episode 5
This week we had a very special guest on TWIR. We welcomed lead singer/multi-instrumentalist Ted Joyner from the indie rock band Generationals onto the show. This New Orleans band is blowing up huge, having just made appearances on KCRW's Morning Becomes Eclectic and Seattle's legendary KEXP before we got them on the phone. We discuss his background in music; past bands; his friendship with bandmate Grant Widmer; the new album Actor-Caster; the critically acclaimed debut album Con Law; the decision to branch out musically and risk it all on the second album; and the band's N.O. influences. Drop feedback at [email protected] and let us know how we're doing. Thanks for listening!

The Weeks In Review Episode 4
Isaac Weeks, film critic for NewRaleigh.com, is joined once again by platonic longtime companion Michael Smith to discuss ZOOKEEPER and WINNIE THE POOH. We also delve into: Michael forgets about the existence of PAUL BLART, Ken Jeong: box office gold, Al Pacino's 401K, JACK AND JILL = FIGHT CLUB 2?, is a HEAT 2 out of the question, Mila Kunis attending the Marine Corps Ball in our old college town, and Netflix screws us over. Enjoy!

The Weeks In Review Episode 3
Your host, film critic Isaac Weeks of NewRaleigh.com, is joined once again by his all-around pal Michael Smith to discuss a variety of topics. Things that can be in this week's podcast: We give our thoughts on the new TNT series FALLING SKIES, FX's LOUIE, and hop into the wayback machine to revisit TRON LEGACY, HARRY POTTER AND THE DEATHLY HALLOWS: PART ONE, and I watch KUNG FU PANDA 2 yet again, but am surprised by the results of this viewing. We also give our reviews on current films: BAD TEACHER: We had some laughs, but was it WITH or AT the film? LARRY CROWNE: It's no JOE VS THE VOLCANO. Depending on who you are, that can go either way. TRANSFORMERS 3: DARK OF THE MOON: I sit this one out, other than to make sarcastic remarks here and there while Michael gives it a verbal bj.

The Weeks In Review Episode 2
On Episode 2 of TWIR, I am joined by SAINT BERNADETTE's lead singer Meredith DiMenna. She is hear to promote her band's fifth album, The Nevers, being released on August 9, 2011. We discuss her history in music; the band's past and future; the scene in Bridgeport, CT; why Lady Gaga may have had no choice but to sell her new CD for $.99; and why the John Mellencamp business model doesn't work for musical acts today.

The Weeks In Review Episode 1
Welcome to the first episode of The Weeks In Review, hosted by Isaac Weeks, entertainment writer for NewRaleigh.com. My guest for the first episode is my best friend and shadow to 90% of the film screenings I attend, Michael Smith. We had been taping for 20 minutes before I noticed that I had only been recording MY end of the conversation, hence at the beginning of the episode why I say, "Michael saw GL and X-Men, liked them both, anyway..." We also touch on Russell Crowe signing onto the new Superman film, the Megan Fox-Michael Bay-Steven Spielberg press fiasco, and I review CARS II and THE ART OF GETTING BY.
