The World via Magic
Hello, and welcome to the World Via. Today we're going to delve into details that the devil himself may find vexing. We're going to try and explain that which defies explanation, articulate the indescribable, take you to the boundary of reason, and then take one step beyond. With slight hands and clear minds, we'll attempt to keep the code while escaping the code, confiding and confounding at the same time. You may miss our directions, but we think you'll still be happy to gather around and follow the object of our conversation, today on the World via Magic.

The World via Celebrations
Hello, and welcome to the World Via. We are emotional creatures, possessed at times by passions beyond our control. Today, we're going to discuss how those passions arise from victory, how they arise from solemnity, how they arise from the simple passage of time. We're going to consider how the collective bubbling of our passionate brains binds us together, and how passionate we can be about persuasive contrivances. We will try to guide you through this liminal space, overturn some norms and maybe elect a ruler of the ridiculous. Whatever your pleasure, we hope you have a good time together, today on the World via Celebrations.

The World via Juggling
Hello and welcome to The World Via. We all enjoy having a little bit of wonder in our lives. A dash of magic that shakes us out of the mundane moment. There’s something about the unexpected, the mesmerizing, the unexplained, that brings us to a childlike state that captures our attention and blanks the mind. It's interesting that we enjoy this loss of control, this brief passage, in which our minds and bodies are not our own. Held hostage to the perplexing and the fascinating, perhaps it’s then unsurprising that those among us who can induce this state, are looked upon with both reverence and suspicion. Have been placed upon the biggest stages and banished to back alleys. Are we awed or stupefied by their technical skill, their athletic feats, their dazzling artistry, or their mathematical genius? Is there something divine or devilish in Mills Mess or Burke’s Barrage? What are they doing with those flaming torches or growling chainsaws? We’ll toss these questions back-and-forth between us today on The World via Juggling.

The World via Nothing
Hello and welcome to The World Via. We are presented with a challenge today. What do you talk about when you don’t have anything to talk about? How do you address an absence of a thing? Or a thing that is not present?Do you speak of the space around it or the potential that has not been realized within it? Do you ignore it, pretending that there’s nothing amiss? Is it a mystery that is meant to be investigated with reason or a given that is accepted with faith? What do you do when you realize that zero is greater than zero? When you realize that silence is not silent...?When you realize that the vacuum is not quite empty? Will we stand with Nietzsche, sit with Buddha, or abhor Aristotle?Empty yourself and gather all your zero point energy to find out, today, on The World via Nothing.

The World via Pets
Hello and welcome to The World Via. It’s a common observation that life in the information age has led to a greater ability to digitally connect with our fellow humans across time and space, but, has it also led to increased feelings of solitude and loneliness? Increased feelings of disconnection? As neat as digital watches, Super Mario and infinite cat videos are, it appears that we need real physical presence to maintain our mental and emotional health. The moment we can’t be near family or friends, a friendly, furry, feathery, or scaly face, may give us that little dose of empathy and intimacy. Through play, care, exercise, comfort, and occasional bouts of wonder, we can form deep and enriching emotional bonds with beings that are sometimes simply stoked to be fed. Which kind of begs the question once asked by a man named Perry, can we serve the same purpose? We’ll find out today on The World via Pets.

The World via Art
Hello and welcome to The World Via. Today, we are going to talk about creation, about shared experience, about context, about intention. We’re gonna wrestle with judgment, comparison, objectivity, and subjectivity good taste and bad taste. We will consider the deep cultural significance of the thong song and the gaucheness of Michelangelo’s David. We will discuss the vast swaths of human creativity from our earliest ancestors to our contemporary automatons. We’re gonna run over well-trodden ground, borrow shamelessly from those who’ve come before and present the product as our own creation and then ask what it means if a machine does the same. Please put on your painters cap, grab your writer’s pen, pick up your drumsticks, put on your dancing shoes, find your yarn, heat up the kiln, and join us in a dialogue across time and space, today on The World via Art.

The World via Buffalo Wings
Hello and welcome to The World Via. We seem to love binaries. The choice between two items juxtaposed, produces a minor thrill in many of us. Ahhh, good. I can cast my lot and demonstrate my knowledge and allegiance through a simple choice of A or B. Is it true or false? Choose the left or right? Will we win or lose? The consequences can be mundane or grand but the ease of choice, the reduction of myriad possibilities into a pair, seems to fit neatly within our minds. Of course it’s been observed that often dyads exist on a spectrum. That the neat clean lines blur and mingle and that a middle space can be found and understood between concepts. Today, however, we will reject compromise. For the debate is simple and clear. Breaded or fried? Boneless or bone-in? Wing or drum? Ranch or blue cheese? All these questions will be answered on The World via Buffalo Wings.

Hello and welcome to The World Via. Today, we are bringing you a glimpse into the past. The past that foreshadowed the present, which in turn, illuminates the future. The World via Quality
Hello and welcome to The World Via. When you sit and listen to our production. Your device of choice translates the digital signal of our recording into waves of compressed air that are received by your ears, detected by specialized cells, and then transmitted to your brain. Your brain translates these waves into the sounds of our voices, questing and questioning, our mirthful laughter and burdened sighs. The creaking of our chairs and the scratching of our fidgets. Do you ever wonder if the sounds you are hearing are the same as those experienced by other listeners? Are you experiencing all that this podcast has to offer? Is this podcast offering you all that it is capable of? Have we, your hosts, put in the care required to ensure that your expectations are not just met, they are exceeded? And can we truly understand what your experience will actually be? We’re not sure but we’ll do our best to answer these questions in a diligent, repeatable, efficient and aesthetically pleasing matter, today on The World via Quality.

The World via The Simpsons
Hello and welcome to The World Via the Simpsons. Today, we’re gonna take a ride down to 742 Evergreen Terrace. Sit back on a well-worn 3-seater couch, turn on the old flatscreen, and engage in a discussion about a cartoon. Will we be boorish or bratty, sagacious or skeptical, or will we simply observe with child or animal-like wonder at the behemoth that this simple show about a simple family in a simple town became. We hope you enjoy today’s episode of The World via The Simpsons.

The World via Funnels
Hello, and welcome to the World Via. We live in an age of complexity, surrounded by a rushing chaos that pulls our attention hither and yon, unrelenting from the moment we awake, until we close our eyes for slumber. How do we, as simple creatures, corral this mad experience, gather it up and concentrate it down so that we can make some sense of the day, some sense of the moment? Can we direct this riotous energy towards a useful end, direct our own divergent attentions so that they're not distracted by the 10,000 shining lights, but instead focus on something meaningful? Is there a tool from which our collective efforts can flow towards a single goal? When we have finally brought some order to the chaos, can we perhaps use that tool, to make cake? Please concentrate your attention, watch out for flying cows and trepanating doctors, and prepare for an infundere with us, today on the World Via…Funnels.

The World via War
Hello and welcome to the World Via.Today, we’re gonna talk about a topic that humankind has grappled with since we were facing off against each other for bananas on the savanna, many millennia ago. We’re gonna play some cards, listen to some music, probably not watch a Jet Li movie, maybe savor some metrics, sometimes running hot and sometimes running cold. There’s gonna be tragedy, glory, assymmetry, totality, a whiff of Malthus and a dash of Augustine. From 13,000 years ago to good god y’all, this very moment. We’re going to consider politics by other means, today on The World via War.

The World via TV
Hello and welcome to The World Via. We humans are interesting primates. The act of sitting and observing one another with our eyes, our ears, our minds, appears to be a fundamental activity. One that we've been partaking in for millennia. We observe to gain new knowledge, to have old teachings reinforced, to honor higher beings, to laugh at lesser beings, and sometimes because those beings want us to buy stuff. We do this on our own, in groups, small and large, in public squares, and in the comforts of our home.Clever monkeys that we are, we’ve come up with innovative ways to observe each other, particularly, magic boxes of light that allow the multitudes to observe while sitting safely within their metaphorical caves. So please, sit back, relax, and join us today as we discuss a massive medium on a medium scale, today on the World via TV.

The World via Dungeons & Dragons
Hello and welcome to The World Via. Today, we’re inviting you to look beyond your mundane reality and envision yourself within a fantastic world. A world of heroes and villains, goblins and elves, fire-breathing dragons and earthshaking giants. Picture yourself sitting in a quiet inn, resting your feet after a long journey, listening to tales of adventure from the patrons around you. A half-giant, a halfling and an elf are sitting nearby and you overhear them chatting about a new fad that they encountered in the Capitol. A game that allows you to become a different person and journey to places you’ve never seen before. The half-giant sees your interest, motions you to join them at the table. You sit and they introduce themselves as a band of explorers. The halfling raises his tankard in greeting and says, “Well met, and welcome to the company of The World via Dungeons and Dragons.”

The World via Color
Hello and welcome to The World Via. Today, we’re gonna hold up a metaphorical prism and wrap our minds around the array of wheels, solids, spaces and spectrums that result. We’ll compare objective wavelengths to subjective perceptions. Try to understand why addition and subtraction both lead to black and have a debate about the blue debate while considering hue, saturation, luminance, and interference. We’re gonna get help from Goethe, mantis shrimp, and the fine Franks at the CIE. We may not quite get synesthesiatic but we’re gonna give our trichromatic best, today, on The World Via Color.

The World via Beer
Hello and welcome to The World Via. Today, we’re going to sit back, raise a glass, and commune with our past, with our present and with our future. We’re going to journey from the field to the farmhouse, from the brewhouse to the pub. We’ll wonder at the partnership between man and microbe and how a simple molecular byproduct can help us all get along. We’ll consider gravity and effervescence, IBU’s and ABV, MCU’s and SRM’s. There’s gonna be some malting, mashing, watering, boiling, fermenting, conditioning. We may even break out the Irish Moss. Crack open a cold one, pour one out for your Homies, and your Holies, and take a long refreshing sip and join us today on The World Via Beer.

The World via Hospitality
Hello and Welcome to the World Via. Please make yourself comfortable and allow us to provision your mind with all that it needs, as you spend some time in our intellectual home. Today, we’re going to try to bring the outside inside and to consider what the inside looks like from the outside. We’ll discuss the common ground held by motels, sub shops, cocktail lounges, and theme parks. We’ll contrast the Xenia of ancient Greece with the Omotenashi of modern Japan. We’ll try to answer the eternal question, “Can love convert the cannibal, or is it simply fish soup?” We’re going to dissolve our mental borders and bring you all into this conversation, giving freely, with no expectation of reciprocity. Eh, mostly. Today, on the World via Hospitality.

The World via Attendance
Hello and Welcome to the World Via. Today we will be discussing a duality of sorts. A state of presence or absence. We will discuss the impact of this duality on the mind, on the individual, on organizations, and on society. We will ensure that you have our complete focus and we hope that, in turn, you will focus on us, if even for a brief time. We will consider your freedoms and our own freedoms and what occurs when those meet. We will count heads and weigh the value of virtuality or perhaps answer the eternal question, “If someone buys a ticket to a sporting event but doesn’t show, do they count?” We’ll be fully present and accounted for today on The World via Attendance.

The World via Reality
Hello and welcome to the World Via. Today, we’re going to talk about all there is to to talk about. We’re going to engage with anything and everything, as long as it exists, or we can convince each other that it exists. Let’s get ontological, baby, today, on the World via Reality.

The World via Hats
Hello and welcome to The World Via. Today’s topic of discussion wasn’t taken from the tops of our heads, although it will often be found there. Keeping us protected from the elements, or proclaiming our faith. We’re going to talk about berets and bowlers, fezzes and fedoras, Phyrgians and piths, sombreros and Stetsons, toques and turbans. The World via Search Engines
Hello and welcome to the World Via. Today we’re gonna talk about information and how it gets from out there in the world to in there in your head. We’re gonna crawl, collate, index, tag, rank and summarize and then present this to you in an easily understood format. We will consider whether the blogger or the Redditor carries the banner of truth and whether we get to decide. We’ll consider chaos, we’ll consider order, we’ll consider the digital clockwork Leviathan that carries us from one to the other and question it’s dominion. We may even tell you what happens when you take the less trodden path. So please sit back, relax and enjoy the clearly presented and logically ordered results of our probabilistic research here on the World via Search Engines.

The World Via Trailer
Welcome to the World Via, your new favorite philosophy-adjacent podcast. This podcast is the brainchild of the creative minds behind Cabin Boy Minute Podcast. Our intimate analysis of that wonderful movie revealed to us that there’s a depth to the most minute things and a random topic such as coffee machines or bags of basmati rice can lead to a profound discussion about life and the universe. We came to realize that we could escape the confines of film media and turn to the world around us for inspiration. The belief of your hosts, Rob and Brian, is that with the holistic nature of the universe, much can be learned from any and every corner of it, and we seize the opportunity to grab the comet tail of randomness and eke order from it. Every episode, we will take on a different topic and discuss it in all its multitudes. We will attempt to see how far the rabbit hole goes and crawl back out, if we can. To aid us in our escape, we use the the guiding light of a sconce. Why a sconce you ask? The most random and banal an object as you could choose? It provoked a surprisingly deep discussion when we first encountered them in Cabin Boy Minute. Ubiquitous, illuminating, possessing a form that is both fixed and mutable. It served as an inspiration and guide light to all of our talks. As such, we end each episode with a discussion about how the topic relates to sconces, before returning our minds, and your ears, back to the real world. So please, grab hold, buckle up and come along for a ride through the universe with us on The World Via.
