For the last few weeks, I have been reflecting on my family memories—reading my sister’s memoirs, alternating with my mom’s memoirs. It amazes me how two people, who lived the same events, can retell their stories from such vastly different perspectives...

The story isn’t the adventure, the characters are.

I am fascinated by the intersection of ordinary human life, artistic imagination, and the Eternal Image of God imprinted on each human soul. Let’s take a look at My Road Goes Ever On—Turn the Page.

If a short story is a “window to other worlds,” it does not necessarily have to be tiny. It can be as large as the universality of the human struggle to keep faith with the best of ourselves.

Fiction often reveals what we don’t want to see but stares us in the face every day. The mystery of who we are and what we are becoming either draws us forward, knocks us to our knees, or buries our souls in despair. We have to stop and consider our lives to understand our response...

Things rarely go as planned, but sometimes, they go better than planned. The trick is not to assume that a planned timeframe determines the worth of a project or that our maps are worthless when we are led off the beaten path. Back in 2010, I wrote my first book, The Road Goes Ever On—A Christian Journey Through The Lord of the Rings and now it's available as an Audible book professionally narrated by Kaylay Eaton. Kaylah maintains such perfect control of her voice and yet adds a gentle, almost beguiling tone, which fits with the fantasy story of The Lord of the Rings so well, I was pleased to realize that the meaning of what I wrote stood out more clearly than ever before...

Audiobooks are on the rise and with our current multitasking generation growing into a science fiction future, I suspect that my work may be far more approachable in the audiobook format.
