These Days Are Ours

This is a podcast dedicated to the classic American sitcom Happy Days, which ran from 1974 to 1984 and introduced to world to the phrase "Sit on it!" Together, Peter and Joe will guide you through all 255 episodes of this landmark show, breaking down the misadventures of Richie Cunningham, Arthur Fonzarelli, and the whole Milwaukee gang.

  1. 100

Episode 302: "Cyndiana Jones and the Temple of Goldblum"

Was the world ready for Cyndi Lauper's movie career in 1988? Ron Howard must have thought so, because his company Imagine Entertainment produced her first starring vehicle, a romantic comedy-adventure called Vibes. Somehow, Jeff Goldblum and Peter Falk got roped into this, too. Peter and Joe have a review.

  2. 99

Episode 301: "The Young People of Today, Am I Right?"

In 1972, America was (apparently) crying out for an animated version of All in the Family. And Hanna-Barbera responded with an unusual little pilot called "Love and the Old-Fashioned Father" starring our very own Tom Bosley. Are Peter and Joe here with a review? Yes.

  3. 98

Episode 300: "The Genie and the Weenie"

For their epic 300th episode (a milestone neither of them even mentions), Peter and Joe look at an extremely dated made-for-TV movie directed by our very own Jerry Paris in 1971. Join them for an in-depth examination of The Feminist and the Fuzz.

  4. 97

Episode 299: "Potsie Weber, Wanted Fugitive"

Right before he became Potsie Weber, Anson Williams starred in an incredibly bleak educational film called The Money Tree. It's about the dangers of renting furniture. No, really. Peter and Joe will explain it all to you.

  5. 96

Episode 298: "The Top 5 Garry Marshall Movies of All Time"

Let's say you only had time to watch five of director Garry Marshall's feature films. Which five should those be? Peter and Joe have some suggestions, and they also talk about Garry's career overall. Are they still working their way through some trauma? Find out!

  6. 95

Episode 297: "Skype, We Hardly Knew Ye"

Each director must have a last film, and for Garry Marshall, it was the 2016 all-star comedy Mother's Day. Peter and Joe are here with a review. And we also mourn Skype, which was too pure for this world.

  7. 94

Episode 296: "Garry Marshall Drops the Ball"

Should old Garry Marshall movies be forgot and never brought to mind? That's the question Peter and Joe will try to answer as they review his 2011 all-star spectacular New Year's Eve. Join them!

  8. 93

Episode 295: "Jennifers, Julias & Jessicas"

In 2010, Garry Marshall assembled every single famous person in the world and put them in one movie. That movie was called Valentine's Day, and Peter and Joe have some thoughts on it. Join them.

  9. 92

Episode 294: "God Bless Us, Every Fonz"

This week, in honor of the Christmas season, we're reviewing the 1979 made-for-TV movie An American Christmas Carol starring Henry "The Fonz" Winkler as the very Scrooge-like Benedict Slade. Is this adaptation worth your time? Peter and Joe have a review.

  10. 91

Episode 293: "A Tyler Perry Movie for White People"

Garry Marshall wanted to make the dark comedy-drama Georgia Rule for a long time. In 2007, he finally did it. In 2025, Peter and Joe had to deal with the fallout from that decision. Join us for an eye-opening review of this semi-forgotten Jane Fonda/Lindsay Lohan movie. WARNING: Contains discussion of child molestation.

  11. 90

Episode 292: "Garry Marshall is for the Children"

In 2004, just months after the release of Raising Helen, Garry Marshall gave us a second film in the Princess Diaries franchise. Should he have bothered? Peter and Joe will weigh in as they review The Princess Diaries 2: Royal Engagement.

  12. 89

Special Announcment: Joe on TV WE LOVE!

Joe's on a documentary, talking about Happy Days this week! Here's where to find him!

  13. 88

    Episode 291: "Hot Lutheran Love!"

For his 13th feature film, Garry Marshall decided to explore the role that sexuality plays in the Lutheran faith. The result was a romantic comedy-drama called Raising Helen. Are Peter and Joe here with a review? Yes. Yes, they are.

  14. 87

    Episode 290: "Straight Outta Genovia"

This week, we get to another of Garry Marshall's most famous films, The Princess Bride...er, Diaries. Peter and Joe are here with a review, and one of them actually read the book this was based on. (Hint: it wasn't Joe.)

  15. 86

Episode 289: "Julia Roberts in Love is Nice"

How do you make a sequel to Pretty Woman without making a sequel to Pretty Woman? Peter and Joe try to answer that question as they review Garry Marshall's smash hit romcom Runaway Bride.

  16. 85

Episode 288: "Legend of the Black Widow"

Gird your loins, folks. It's time for us to discuss Garry Marshall's 1999 film The Other Sister. It was his attempt at making something like Rain Man or Forrest Gump. Did he succeed? Peter and Joe have the answers.

  17. 84

Episode 287: "Still the Beaver" or "The Myth of Sissy Foods"

This week we're talking about Herndon! What's that? You've never heard of Herndon? Well, buckle up, because we're about to become the internet's #1 Herndon podcast as Peter and Joe review an obscure Garry Marshall pilot from 1983 starring Michael "Kramer" Richards.

  18. 83

    Episode 286: "Oh, Dear God..."

Garry Marshall feels the urge. The urge to glurge. This week, we're talking about Dear God, Garry's attempt to make the most heartwarming movie that ever warmed a heart. Peter and Joe have a review for you. Do their hearts remain as ice cold as ever?

  19. 82

    Episode 285: "Horny Idiot Island"

For some reason, in 1994, Garry Marshall thought it would be a great idea to make a film of Anne Rice's BDSM novel Exit to Eden and add a comedic subplot about a diamond heist. Spoiler alert: This was not a great idea. Peter and Joe have a review anyway.

  20. 81

Episode 284: "Frankie Goes to Johnnywood"

How do you follow up Pretty Woman? Hell if I know. But Garry Marshall decided to make a romantic comedy-drama about a cook and a waitress who... well, you'll find out when Peter and Joe review Frankie and Johnny.

  21. 80

    Episode 283: "Attractive Female"

Mercy! Hot off the success of Beaches, Garry Marshall made the romantic comedy Pretty Woman, which turned out to be one of the defining movies of the entire 1990s. This week, Peter and Joe revisit the film and discuss how it holds up in 2025.

  22. 79

Episode 282: "TRUE STORY: I'm in a Happy Days Documentary"

  24. 77

Episode 280: "Stockholm Syndrome: The Romantic Comedy!"

This week, Peter and Joe review Garry Marshall's fourth film, Overboard, starring Goldie Hawn and Kurt Russell. We hope you won't be over-bored by what we have to say!

  25. 76

Episode 279: "Diabetic Neuropathy of a Salesman"

For his third film, Garry Marshall brought in two big guns, Jackie Gleason and Tom Hanks, to play a bickering father-son duo in the dramedy Nothing in Common. Does it work? Peter and Joe have thoughts.

  26. 75

Episode 278: "The Devil's Cabana Boy"

If you're listening to this podcast, you probably like both Garry Marshall and nostalgia. Well, then, have we got a movie for you! Join Peter and Joe as they review the 1984 Matt Dillon classic, The Flamingo Kid.

  27. 74

Episode 277: "But What I Really Want to Do is Direct"

After decades in television, Garry Marshall was itching to become a movie director. And in 1982, he went and did the damned thing. The result was an oddball comedy called Young Doctors in Love. It stars everyone and features everything. Peter and Joe have a review.

  32. 69

Episode 272: "Wisconsin Fonzarelli and the Chest of Wonders"

This week, Fonzie and his pals find themselves in Timbuktu circa 1100 A.D. Does it go well? Does it go poorly? Does Ralph make terrible jokes along the way? Join Peter and Joe as they review "All This and Timbuktu."

  33. 68

Episode 271: "Fonzie Circumnavigates His Own Cool"

  34. 67

    Episode 270: "Oy, Canada!"

This week, Fonzie and his pals take off to the Great White North! Specifically, they find themselves in the Yukon in 1898 where they have to save yet another damsel in distress from another snarling villain. Peter and Joe give you the skinny in their review of "Perilous Pauline."

  35. 66

    Shotgun Wedding (1963) commentary track

As you may have guessed from that title, this is not an episode of These Days Are Ours: A Happy Days Podcast. Instead, it's a commentary track I recorded back in 2022 with the late, great Greg Javer. It was intended for a Blu-ray box set but got lost in the shuffle. Greg passed away recently, and I wanted to share this track with his friends. Enjoy!

  36. 65

Episode 269: "Rome (If You Want To)"

This week, Fonzie meets Caligula! No, not really. But he goes back to ancient Rome and tangles with a fake Julius Caesar. Peter and Joe will tell you all about it when they review "There's No Place Like Rome."

  37. 64

Episode 268: "Love in a Cold Climate"

Two amazing things happen this week: (1) Fonzie and the gang travel to 4th century Norway and do battle with a sorceress. (2) Cupcake gets a love interest. Peter and Joe discuss both of these things when they review "Fjords and Sorcery." You'd be a fool not to join them.

  41. 60

  46. 55

Episode 259: "Amazon Women on the Earth"
