Third Eye Sailing

Greetings from San Juan Island, where orcas swim through harbors and dedicated Americans protest the bullshit happening under orange man. A month and a half has been filled with some adventures, close calls, and break through a breakthrough in eco tech. Just a short check-in!

Back again, raw, unedited, and crabbed out just cooking fresh caught Dungeness. Some new stories, some reminiscing, and some big changes. The fun never stops around here even when fascism is on the rise and when it’s 80 degrees with no AC. Everyone is fine, no heat stroke here. We have fans.

Well, we did it. We are officially out on anchor for the rest of the summer as much as we can be, starting with Blind Bay off of Shaw island. Time to reep the benefits of all the work that was done on this boat since February, and relish the silence that comes with being unattached to the marina. This is what we always planned on doing when we moved to Washington, and now we have begun. It sort of feels like the closing and beginning of a chapter. So what mow? What adventures will come next? It’s that mystery that keeps us excited and happy to see what’s creeping right around the corner.

We are back after what felt like a lifetime's worth of projects on the boat. Our country is in the compost toilet. Pixy likes to say “bless you” when we sneeze. It’s rocky as hell out in our new slip. Parrot Fish and per Alice Ward’s podcast Julien from Nature Jab are going to save the world, along with Chris Valenti. We will get through these people and the orcas will help us if we help them! Listen and find out why.

To get through the day in this socioeconomic climate, all you need is a little faith, trust in yourself, and a cat! We now have a third crew mate aboard Iolar, alocrewmateetting projects done, protesting, and adopting Pixy. We have her, and we are tired, but we are still here living the dream. Take a listen!

The current is shifting, change is coming, and we have microphones now to talk about it! Spring is here, Handa Off nation wide protest on April 5th, leaps and bounds by France with fusion technology, and China with new EV battery developments. Despite the world burning around us, we’re still trying to make it better for the future.  Take a listen!

We don’t know what will take over the world first, deep-dwelling sea creatures, AI, or us having the power to control the earth’s elements with a thought. All are daunting and a bit terrifying, but we’re all going to be ok! You know why??? Because we have Orca love, we can run away in our sailboat!

It’s an honor and a privilege to be able to talk about the beauty and success of new environmental research and the wildlife that is in need of protection. Here’s to American Indian Heritage Month, a fundraising goal for the Center for Whale Research. The world is still turning, and we still have hope for a country that is free, and full of compassion. New projects are coming soon, and a new slip number for our now permanent home!

I swear we start off on a high note, then it gets hairy, but then it gets better again. Kind of like real life. Share a laugh, a beer, and lend an ear, folks. We are here, and the path ahead is clear.

The puzzle is never finished when it comes to life. New pieces are always being added to get you to the next, but the best part is never actually completing it. Whistle while you work because the chores never end over here. We asked for it, and we got it. Sailing book talk, El Niño To a La Niña, having two boats in different places could be fun, and people you need to MYOB and stop congratulating certain folks for just walking outside!

I don’t want to spoil what that is, but it is our chosen torture. New species are being found all the time in and around oceans, reinforcing how much we still don’t know. Would you risk living in space or underwater? Our new neighbors are noisy and messy and treat our surroundings like a trash can throwing bones everywhere.

We’re starting all of our boat projects for the summer, and we hate capitalism. Pink aura running rampant and some aren’t too happy about it. American infrastructure sucks, and we need to leave the royals alone, plus so much more!

Dustin continues to grab the low-hanging fruit by talking about the weather for a highlight, lowlight! It’s fine. It’s a habit that apparently cannot be broken. Probably too much singing from me, end a hell lotta green tech talk. This is us in a nutshell.

Good vs bad intentions toward others, and the idea that it’s possible to tell the difference if you are paying attention. The boat community is the bomb, end means people need to go away.

New year new things. We talk about American and how crappy our public transit is and how big our suburbs are.

Relax, whatever New Year’s resolutions you make aren’t a big deal. If you follow through that’s great, if you don’t, life goes on. It’s fun to put outrageous goals on there. Some people put very practical things like wood working skills and sewing. Others want to learn French because it’s pretty. Whatever you decide is great! Happy new year freaks, and don’t drink and drive. It’s unwise. So we have heard.

What would you do if you had endless amounts of money in today’s world? We have been busy, Seattle, Friday Harbor, very touristy. Kids today are way smarter than we ever were. We want to do too many things, but that doesn’t mean we want to live forever!
