Once again, I want to share what I've been working on with you. To be honest, making content hasn't been easy lately—lots of activities, pushing through different situations and tasks. Everything has actually been quite positive lately. On the other hand, I'm still working through some mental hurdles; I've been procrastinating a lot. I think I could have participated last week without a problem, but I wasn't in the right headspace to go through with it. I guess it's what people usually call 'mental burnout.' Like I said, I think I could have joined in, but it went down exactly as I mentioned. I've been juggling several things and seeing results from the effort put in; it's not enough yet, but it's important to keep moving, and that momentum has also given me new experiences. These days, I’m doing everything with a bit more patience, giving myself the space to enjoy every activity and what I’m going through right now. I’m making a real effort to improve the quality of what I do, gathering resources and acting with intention. Still, none of it has been bad. My motivation has shifted; now I’m taking advantage of not having my pedal to integrate more tools to become a better musician, so I can share my skills and use them alongside any band I play with. Despite the lack of gear, I’ve taken the time to improve my technique and use new scales. It still sounds—and will sound—very basic, but I’m meeting my goal of growing musically. My previous focus was on improving my tone, so I’m using this time to add more skills to my toolkit before I get new gear again. ESP Saludos, comunidad de Hive Music Festival, espero que esten excelentes, una vez mas quiero compartir con ustedes de lo que tengo, sin duda no ha sido facil estos dias hacer contenido, muchas actividades, saliendo tambien adelante en diferentes cosas y situaciones, de verdad que todo ha sido bastante positivo ultimamente, por otro lado sigo superando cosas en mi mentalidad, he estado procrastinando mucho, creo que la semana pasada pude haber participado sin problemas, pero no tenia el nivel de consiencia optimo para proceder, creo que es lo que la gente llama comunmente "Estar agotado mentalmente". Como dije antes creo que pude haber participado, pero parece que fue asi como lo mencione brevemente, he estado en varias cosas sumando resultados por los esfuerzos realizados, no es suficiente, pero es importante mantenerse en movilidad, y esa movilidad tambien me permitio tener experiencias nuevas. Hoy en dia hago todo con un poco de mas paciencia, disponiendome de mi para poder disfrutar cada actividad, asi como lo que actualmente vivo, lo cual es que estoy haciendo un esfuerzo para mejorar mi calidad, reuniendo, haciendo las cosas con intencion. Sin embargo nada ha sido malo, la motivacion me cambio, ahora aprovecho la carencia del pedal para integrar mas herramientas para ser mejor musico para poder compartir de mi habilidad para usarlas en conjunto a la banda con la que pueda tocar. A pesar de la falta de equipos, he tomado el tiempo para mejorar en la ejecucion, usar nuevas escalas, aun suena y sonara muy basico pero voy cumpliendo el objetivo de crecer musicalmente, porque lo ultimo que estaba haciendo era mejorar mi sonido, por lo que estoy aprovechando el tiempo para sumar mas herramientas antes de volver nuevamente a recibir un nuevo equipo, sin embargo soy consiente de que debo balancear las cosas entre la produccion de audio y el aprendizaje. It’s been a bit of a struggle for me to upload content lately, but we’re still moving forward. To be honest, whenever I check Hive, it really encourages me not to let this week pass without participating, especially since this theme is so important to me. It is definitely important to bring a cultural and spiritual touch to the Hive Open Mic weeks. Whoever came up with this theme definitely scored some points. Thanks to everyone who has supported me with my current guitar work. It’s a very different style from what I usually play, and I think that’s also why I’ve been a bit distant from participating lately. I hope you're all doing great and are in top shape. Today, I want to share my entry for HMF week 178. It’s been a long time since I participated; truth be told, it’s been due to work. It’s been tricky to keep up with the Hive dynamic alongside my job, but thank God, more work is coming my way as an English language educator and audio production tutor. This year, despite everything we Venezuelans are still going through, patience and hope have started to fill the streets. In turn, that hope has brought new opportunities that are taken even at full risk, but with a great sense of positive expectation. Because of what I mentioned above, I’ll be making an effort to keep supporting and doing what I love on Hive. This community has definitely taught me a lot—so much so that when I’m on other Web2 social networks, people tell me how fluidly I speak on camera. I tell them the truth: on Hive, I’ve managed to overcome many fears because there isn't such a wide margin of judgment like on other platforms. On another note, I sold my pedalboard. It sounded very good and I got the most out of it, though maybe not 100%. Still, I pushed it to the limit for my personal interests. Therefore, moving to a better product will lead me toward new directions and possibilities. I’m bringing this up because I’m currently playing the acoustic guitar. Honestly, I was quite afraid this setup would be rejected by the community, but I see it’s been accepted not just here, but on Web2 and my other social networks as well. I also had many doubts when producing this arrangement; I thought it wouldn't sound good at all, but I was wrong. It sounds much better than I expected. In fact, even though there’s a lot of fan noise, it actually exposes my full ability as a musician. I also took the time to study some more exotic scales to vary and broaden my musical language. Playing the acoustic guitar isn't easy. The one I’m using in the video is pretty basic; the action is high and I can’t press the notes on the frets with much agility, which affects the tone and overall performance. ESP Saludos, comunidad de Hive Music Festival, espero que esten excelentes, y esten optimos, en esta ocasion quiero compartirles mi entra a el HMF de esta semana 178, tenia muchisimo tiempo sin participar, la verdad ha sido por temas de trabajo, ha sido complicado poder mantener la dinamica de hive con el trabajo, y gracias a Dios en camino viene mas trabajo como educador de el lenguaje del ingles, y como tutor para la produccion de audio, este año a pesar de las cosas que aun vivimos los venezolanos, en las calles ha empezado a transitar la paciencia, y la esperanza y su vez, esa esperanza ha traido nuevas oportunidades que incluso se toman a todo riesgo pero con una gran esperanza positiva. Asi que debido a lo comentado anteriormente estare esforzandome para seguir apoyando y haciendo lo que me gusta en Hive, sin duda esta comunidad me ha enseñado mucho, tanto que cuando salgo en otra red social Web2, la gente me comenta que como soy tan fluido al hablar en camara, pues digo la verdad que en Hive he logrado vencer muchos temores porque no existe un amplio umbral de juicio como en las demas redes sociales. Por otro lado, vendi mi pedalera, sonaba muy bien, la aproveche, no al 100%, sin embargo la lleve a su limite en mis intereses personales, por lo tanto un cambio a un producto mejor ira encaminandome hacia nuevos rumbos y nuevas posibilidades, y hablo de esta situacion porque estoy tocando la guitarra acoustica, la verdad tenia mucho temor de que este esquema fuese repudiado por la comunidad, pero veo que ha sido aceptada no solo aqui sino en la web2 en mis otras redes sociales. Tambien tuve mucha duda al hacer la produccion de este esquema, pense que no iba a sonar nada bien, pero me equivoque, suena mucho mejor de lo que pensaba, de hecho a pesar que suena mucho el ruido del ventilador, esto lo vuelve y me expone a la vez en toda mi capacidad como musico, sin embargo aproveche a estudiar nuevas escalas mucho mas exoticas para variar y ampliar mi lenguaje musical. Tocar en la guitarra acustica, no es facil, esta que uso en el video es bastante basica, la calibracion es ruda y no puedo presionar con agilidad las notas sobre los trastes, el esquema de sonoridad y todo lo que es acorde a una. I'm sharing my latest entry with you once again; I try to stay consistent and keep active week after week. Thank God there’s been work to do, and I'm pushing myself to keep up with my Hive activities because it's something I truly enjoy. I’m still sticking with the acoustic guitar for now. I’ll probably spend a few more months doing these performances in this format. I definitely miss playing the electric guitar; even though I haven't posted that many entries with it, the electric has been my companion for over a decade. It’s tough getting used to an instrument that is relatively the same, yet so different at the same time. However, during this time I’ve learned more about music theory to apply to my music, which has moved my knowledge forward and, at the same time, really sparked a desire to learn even more about how to make music. Sin embargo en este tiempo he aprendido mas cosas de teoria musical, para implementar en la musica, lo cual me ha generado un avance en conocimientos y a la vez me ha estimulado mucho el querer aprender mas a hacer musica. Today I want to share my entry for this week. I am still not getting used to the acoustic guitar; while it is definitely easier to record and takes less time, the playing style is a world away from what I am used to, which is the electric guitar. It is quite a challenge to perform these tracks with a steady sound, plus I get tired really fast because the action is so high. Esta semana he hecho un "downgrade" debido a que vendí mi pedal multiefecto; y ¿qué mejor que seguir adelante usando lo más tradicional que tengo a la mano? Una guitarra acústica. Pretendo tocar de esta manera por la siguiente temporada hasta que haya resuelto la compra de un nuevo equipo. Probablemente haya mucho "hate", o tal vez no. La verdad, como digo en el video, quiero mejorar mis equipos y realmente vale la pena el esfuerzo; específicamente en estos aspectos deseo mejorar muchísimo. Por otro lado, me disculpo por no estar tan atento con la comunidad, ya que he estado trabajando fuertemente como profesor universitario. Sin embargo, he podido lograr un balance en mis actividades nuevamente, por lo cual estaré integrándome a Hive con este formato provisional. I know it’s very late to be posting, and even though this video is technically within the day’s limit, I didn't want to let the week pass by without sharing my entry. Always trying to bring a genuine sound and melodies, this time I’ve managed to flow with better rhythms and sounds that lead to a better mood. As for this week's theme, I really identified with it because I’ve been restarting many things in my life and looking back at my past, even remembering myself as a child. Without a doubt, this week is no coincidence, so I've been able to flow wonderfully. These past weeks have been complicated for posting because, as a university professor, I’ve had to learn how to properly handle even the formatting, but I feel really good that I've been able to support the generation coming after me lately. Music has also brought me closer to other people through teaching, and I started giving lessons to a young girl and getting her prepared as well. Estas semanas han sido complejas de publicar porque como profesor en universidad he tenido que aprender incluso a llevar de manera correcta los formatos, pero me siento muy bien de que estos dias he podido apoyar a la generacion que viene despues de mi. La Musica tambien me ha acercado a otras personas para la enseñanza y empece a impartirle clases a una niña y preparla tambien. Apologies for posting my entry today, right on the deadline; unfortunately, I haven't been able to be on Hive much because my job as a university professor has started taking up my schedule again. It's that time of the term to organize all the class info, grades, and attendance. To be honest, I've enjoyed teaching Accounting and an elective on "Planning"; these have been great experiences, and it’s been a real learning process dealing with so many people at once, which builds a bit of leadership that I use to deliver quality information. That’s the reason for my absence from Hive for almost a week. In fact, I have some tags from a friend that I haven't properly checked yet, but I'll get to them soon. I think they’re related to the format and content style I bring to you, which I always try to keep genuine. I’m striving to expand my melodic vocabulary even further with the goal of connecting my thoughts with you through my playing; being seen as an example or a reference truly makes me happy and keeps me motivated. These learning periods have been crucial, and they've pushed me to take my guitar studies more seriously. Probably in the coming weeks, after finishing up some work on an artist's music, I’m going to record a cover of the songs that have influenced me since I first started playing. I’ll tell you in advance: the artist I’ll be covering is Pete Thorn. He’s an incredible guitarist, and I’ll soon be uploading a cover of one of his tracks—one of my personal favorites, and likely a favorite for many other guitarists who follow modern talents. Regarding this specific entry, I kept the intro brief and focused more on the performance itself. I’m really happy with how it turned out; it took several takes to get this result, but I'm thrilled with it. ESP Saludos, comunidad de Hive Music Festival, espero que esten excelentes, disculpen que haga mi participacion hoy justamente el dia de cierre de las participaciones, lamentablemente no he podido estar mucho en Hive, ya que el trabajo de profesor de universidad nuevamente empezo a consumir tiempo de mi itinerario, ya que ha llegado el tiempo de arreglar toda la informacion de las clases, de las notas y asistencia, la verdad me ha gustado dar clases de contabilidad y otra materia de relleno que trata de "planificacion", han sido experiencias, ha sido un aprendizaje lidiar con tantas personas a la vez lo cual hacer esto genera un pequeño liderazgo el cual uso para poder llevar una informacion de calidad. Ese es el porque de mi ausencia en hive, sin duda casi una semana, de hecho tengo etiquetas de parte de un amigo que no he revisado como tal, lo cual pronto hare, creo que tiene que ver con el formato y el esquema de contenido que llevo a ustedes, el cual siempre hago de manera genuina, trato de elevar aun mas mi vocabulario melodico con el objetivo de conectar mis pensamientos con ustedes a traves de las melodias, y ser de ejemplo y refencia la verdad me hace muy feliz, y me anima. De verdad estos tiempos de aprendizajes han sido cruciales, y esto me ha llevado a tomarme mas enserio el estudio de la guitarra, que probablemente en una posible semana luego de limpiar y pulir la musica de un artista, voy a proceder a hacer un cover de las canciones que me han influido desde mis inicios como guitarrista, dire de manera adelantada, el artista que interpretare se llama Pete Thorn, es un gran guitarrista, y estare pronto subiendo un cover de una de las canciones la cual para mi es mi favorita, y tal vez la de muchos otros guitarristas que estan atento de estos talentos modernos. En cuanto a esta participacion, la introduccion la hice breve, y la interpretacion fue mas llena, de verdad que me ha gustado el resultado final, la verdad hice varias tomas para este resultado pero estoy super contento, la agilidad aplicada y la musica ejecutada cada vez tiene mas sentido melodico, lo cual es lo que siempre busco. We’re moving forward in these weeks filled with musical experiences, and I’m definitely grateful for the community’s support. This week I’m bringing you a fairly lively performance with a steady and very melodic musical style. It does, however, have some drastic changes that aren’t always easy to interpret melódically. Still, I put in the effort to deliver an experience that allows for an emotional connection between the melodies and the listener. I had some initial trouble with this interpretation because I didn't quite grasp the musical flow given the track’s title: Jazz Funk. Together, these genres suggest a high level of melodic language and complex phrasing. However, upon listening, I realized it’s a bit smoother than the title implies. Because of that, I struggled a bit with my approach. I usually flow naturally when things are clear to me, but here there was a bit of a clash since I’m quite traditional when it comes to the genres this track touches on. In the end, after practicing the track several times, I realized it was even more complex than I thought. It requires managing melodies for specific soft parts while building tension and a strong, attack-heavy character for others. I’d say the best approach is definitely to play with a conservative focus when listening to the heavy guitar strums and the drums, knowing how to subtly switch to the gentler sections. I really enjoy exploring the complexity of these things regarding melody because it offers invaluable learning. It allows for a unique sound and ultimately gives the musician an original voice. ESP Saludos, comunidad de Hive Music Festival, espero que esten excelentes, seguimos avanzando en estas semanas llenas de muchas experiencias musicales, sin duda agradecido con el apoyo de la comunidad. Para esta semana les traigo una presentacion bastante animada, con un estilo musical estable y muy melodico, sin embargo con cambios drasticos que a veces no son faciles de interpretar melodicamente, sin embargo se hace el esfuerzo para llevar una experiencia que permita la conexion emocional de las melodias con el oyente. He tenido algunas dificultades iniciales al realizar esta interpretacion porque no entendia el fluir musical debido al titulo de la pista, siendo este un Jazz Funk, y ambos generos en conjunto proponen alto nivel de lenguaje melodico y complejidad de frases, sin embargo al escuchar me doy cuenta de que es algo un poco mas suave de lo que propone, en este orden de ideas me costo un poco como aproximarme, normalmente fluyo con naturalidad cuando tengo claras las cosas sin embargo aqui hubo un pequeño choque ya que soy conservador de los generos que propone esta pista. Al final despues de practicar varias veces la pista me doy cuenta que incluso era mas compleja de lo que pensaba, ya que requiere administrar melodias para partes especificas con un caracter suave y para otras partes generar tension y un poco de caracter fuerte lleno de ataque, podemos decir que la mejor aproximacion sin duda es interpretar con un enfoque conservador al escuchar los rasgueos fuertes de la guitarra con la bateria y el resto de ritmos y saber de alguna manera cambiar sutilmente a las secciones que son mas suaves. Me gusta sin duda explorar la complejidad de estas cosas en materia de melodia ya que ofrece un aprendizaje invaluable, lo que permite un sonido particular y termina otorgando al musico un sonido original. Today I’m bringing you a new entry with a lot of energy; I really enjoyed making this short video. This week I’m bringing another blues track. Without a doubt, this musical style has been key to my musical expression and flow in every sense of the art lately. It has also brought me encouragement and joy while playing, and with every single note, I realize the story my emotions are telling. I learned quite recently that it’s important to pay attention to the body when there are feelings that frustrate daily success, and I understood that these can be released. Without even realizing it, I talk a lot about what I feel through the music I express, so I end up accepting those feelings and letting them go through the melodies. I make myself feel every sensation without ignoring it; I also learned that when you ignore feelings, they build up. I’ve had times when I wanted to let my emotions flow, but by ignoring them I realized I wasn’t allowing myself to experience them or empty them out. The human body is certainly complex, but most of the time, music helps me move through every feeling if I choose to embrace it, whether it’s pain, sadness, or attachment. The focus of this entry is on the blues genre. Honestly, blues was born and became very popular for defining a simple cadence to create a poetic framework when singing, whether in a song or with an instrument. Espero que estén excelentes, esta semana que empieza he decido empezar con esta entrada bastante animada con la mejor actitud, ya arrancando motores y definiendo este año con una mejor disposicion para hacer las cosas y con mas fe. En esta semana traigo otro blues, sin duda este estilo de musica en estas ultimas temporadas ha sido muy clave para mi expresion musical y fluir en todo el termino del arte musical, tambien ha traido animo y contentamiento al momento de interpretar esta pista y que con cada nota tras nota me doy cuenta de la historia que marca mis emociones. He aprendido hace muy poco tiempo que es importante prestar atencion al cuerpo cuando existen sentimientos que frustran el exito diario, y entendi que estos pueden ser soltados, y sin darme cuenta con la musica que expreso hablo mucho de lo que siento, por lo que termino aceptando esos sentimientos, y a traves de las melodias voy soltando, porque me dispongo a sentir cada sensacion sin ignorarla, tambien aprendi que al ignorar los sentimientos, estos se acumulan, y tambien he tenido temporadas que deseo fluir las emociones pero al ignorarlas me doy cuenta que no me permito transitarlas y vaciarme de ellas, sin duda el cuerpo humano es complejo, pero de verdad que la musica la gran mayoria de las ocasiones me ayuda a fluir cada sentimiento si decido abrarlo, ya sea el mismo dolor, la tristeza o el apego. El enfoque de esta entrada tiene que ver con el genero blues y la verdad el blues nacio y se hizo muy popular por definir una cadencia sencilla para generar un esquema poetico al momento de cantar ya sea una cancion o con un instrumento. I used to look at starting from scratch with a bit of regret, but nowadays I'm teaching my subconscious mind that some things won't come back and others will never be the same; I'm embracing it all through love rather than judgment, with the goal of healthily appreciating my identity. That's why I decided to make this original song. I hope you are all doing great and had an excellent start to the year. Personally, I’m in better spirits because of external things happening in life, specifically regarding my country. I know nothing is strictly better or worse yet, but after a chapter where we were way too stagnant, we’ve actually been able to move forward, and that gives me hope. We don’t know what will happen next; I just put my trust in God. Aside from that, I feel better emotionally; I keep moving forward and healing from a period of grief I’m currently going through. It’s not easy to let go; my unconscious mind still seeks to recover what was lost, but consciously, I have the clarity to know that everything is okay and that I must let go. A lot of the music I’ve developed while going through stressful times has also helped me push forward, as the power of music exists on a different level of consciousness. Today, I continue to express through my sound the desire to keep going, to fight, and to improve, participating in #HMF with the best possible attitude. On another note, regarding musical expression and the deep study I’ve put into the guitar—which is what I was getting at in the previous paragraph—I’ve managed to improve my technique. Little by little, I’m rebuilding my confidence; I’m also seeking out and practicing new information that I’m currently absorbing, since I really love working on guitar solos. Theory isn't easy to master once you really get into the weeds, but the effort is paying off. My dexterity when playing note by note has changed, and I wanted to highlight that because practice really is everything. Espero que estén excelentes y hayan tenido un excelente inicio de año, particularmente tengo un mejor animo por las cosas externas que pasan en la vida, especificamente por mi pais, se que aun no hay nada mejor o peor, pero de un capitulo el cual estabamos demasiado estancados, la verdad se pudo avanzar y eso me genera animo, no sabemos lo que pasara mas adelante, solo confio en Dios. De resto emocionalmente me siento mejor, sigo avanzado y mejorando por un asunto de un duelo que vivo actualmente, no es facil soltar, mi mente inconsiente aun sigue buscando recuperar lo perdido, pero consientemente tengo claridad de que todo esta bien y que debo soltar. Mucha musica que he desarrollado desde que he vivido muchas cosas que me han estresado tambien ha ayudado a seguir adelante, ya que el poder de la musica esta en otro nivel de consiencia, hoy sigo manifestando en mi sonido animos de seguir adelante, de luchar de mejorar, y con toda la mejor actitud participar en #HMF. Por otro lado, la expresion musical y el estudio excesivo que he tenido con la guitarra, lo cual en teoria lo he tenido, y a eso me refiero en el parrafo anterior, es que he logrado mejorar mi tecnica, poco a poco estoy volviendo a resconstruir mas confianza, tambien estoy buscando y practicando nueva informacion que estoy asimilando, debido a que me gusta desarrollar solos de guitarra. La teoria no es facil dominarla cuando se profundiza sin embargo estan dando frutos el esfuerzo tomado, mi destreza al tocar nota a nota ha cambiado y queria de alguna forma resaltar esto, ya que la practica es importante, es relevante y quiero probar nuevos horizontes musicales que no he explorado. Thankfully, I’m doing very well and in better spirits. A lot of things got complicated during this year-end—things I never expected to happen. However, as the saying goes, "everything happens for the best." Sometimes we get so caught up in trying to control things that stem from our own willingness and initiative, but despite putting my heart into many plans, both emotional and financial, nothing turned out as expected this year. The situation in my country has been so tough that it’s even impacted my personal life. People make choices that sometimes push you aside, perhaps not intentionally, but because the world is so chaotic right now and people feel the need to seek new alliances. I think that’s the most neutral way of saying my relationship ended, and I’ve spent these last few days going through a mourning process that’s impossible to ignore. Nevertheless, when I look at it logically, I see that everything happening is teaching me to better focus my efforts on the future. It wasn't what I wanted or wished for, but the Bible says, "we know that in all things God works for the good of those who love him" (Romans 8:28). Maybe not everyone here believes in that, but for my own peace of mind and conviction, I choose to hold onto it as truth. Today, I wanted to share my final performance of the year. As I mentioned in the video, I truly recognize the hard work the Hive Music Festival team does. It’s an uphill task, it's not easy, and I’m sincerely grateful for your support. Throughout my time participating in HMF, I’ve learned so much that has gradually built up my confidence and self-esteem. Sin embargo las personas toman sus decisiones y estas a veces son tan fuertes que te desplazan y no porque era la idea de hacerlo sino porque el mundo esta convulsionado en todo lugar y se necesita dar lugar a alianzas, creo que es la manera mas neutral de decir que fui desestimado para continuar una relacion, y estos dias he pasado un luto imposible de obviar, sin embargo cuando lo veo de la manera mas logica, es decir todo lo que sucede, tambien me enseña a enfocar mejor mis esfuerzos para prepararme mejor para el futuro, no ha sido lo que queria ni deseaba, pero dice la biblia "sabemos que Dios dispone todas las cosas para el bien de los que lo aman Romanos 8:28", y tal vez no muchos aqui crean en esto, pero para mi conviccion y bienestar, elijo creerlo como una verdad. Hoy quise hacer mi ultima presentacion en el año, sin duda como dije en el video, reconozco mucho el trabajo que realiza el equipo de Hive Music Festival, es un arduo trabajo el que realizan, no es facil y agradezco por su apoyo.
