You are the only you and truth makes that true

“If matter’s all there is, then nothing really matters.” I’ve said that many times over the years. And for a very good reason. Because you are the only you. And the enormous amount of information found in just one of your trillions of cells shows how true that is as it reveals your unique story. Yeah, truth proves that you are the only you. But there’s something really interesting about truth. People either love the truth or hate it. And that’s because the truth either sets them free or convicts them. And freedom is great. But that whole conviction thing is a horse of a different color. And people don’t want that different color. Most of them prefer neutral tones. I’m as fond of gray as the next guy, when it comes to painting things around the house. Because it goes with just about everything. But when it comes to truth, going with gray, or neutral tones, is a recipe for turning you into God puke. Take that off your to-do list. But let’s get back to your unique story. The reason I write entertaining books for you (especially for kids) is because your story matters. (by the way, “reason” isn’t found in matter) ThatAnd your story matters because you were created by the original, infinitely brilliant storyteller. You didn’t just happen. And the story of who you are and why you look and sound the way you do is written inside the cells of your body. It’s like a secret code. But it’s not a secret anymore. Technology now gives us access to DNA where your code (your story) is written. Your code is yours and no one else has the your code. That’s how and why you are the only you. And this is true of every person on the earth. Big or little. Fat or skinny. Blue or pink, so to speak. If we took the code inside of you and used a special decoder ring, we could read the one book in the world written just about you. It would tell us why your singing voice is so nice. Or why you can’t carry a tune in a bucket. It would tell us how you grew up to be a 7 foot basketball player in the NBA. Or a 5 foot jockey in the Kentucky Derby. Well, your code wouldn’t tell us how you won a place in the NBA or the Kentucky Derby. But it would show us why you’re tall or short. Imagine how many other things we could learn about you by reading the teeny, tiny instructions in each of the trillions of cells in your body. But then there wouldn’t be time to read or do anything else. You can just be sure that… Your Story Matters Inside a trillion tiny cells Where no one’s eyes can see… A trillion times your story flies On sparks of energy. That energy is life itself The fire to light your way To write your story and to live And love someone today. Be thankful for your source of life And bow or smile and nod… Because your story matters most, When it reveals our God.   © 2013 TF Your email address matters, too. Rainbow City fading away but I thought of it today

I lived in a one bedroom one bathroom garden level apartment in Lakewood, Colorado for a couple of years. I finished up the 80s there. And I started out the 90s there. During my first summer, in that complex, I noticed oodles of rainbows after the almost daily short summer rains. And that inspired me to write a song called Rainbow City. The only recording I have of the song is an MP3 demo version. And when you hear it (and listeners of the power of God’s love podcast can hear it), you’ll notice two voice styles. Because I had intended to make it a collaborative project with another singer. And I wanted to send the demo to him with a different voice, so he could hear where his part would be. That never happened. So, I just ended up with a funky little demo. And I thought about that old song today as I watched the sun finally emerging after two days of heavy rains here along the Emerald coast. I don’t really see rainbows here like I did in Colorado. And I miss that. So, I guess that got me feeling nostalgic and I figured I’d share the lyrics to… Rainbow City Why does everybody worry? Spend so much time fretting and fussing And you’re bound to end up grey. Why is everybody faithless? Detour yourself into the night And you can’t enjoy the day. Where is everybody going? We’re escalating and elevating And still no ground is gained. Where can people find an answer? They put away for a rainy day, But it already rained. Don’t you see? We’re living in Rainbow City. Don’t you know? We own that pot of gold. Can’t you tell? We’re livin’ in Rainbow City. Can’t you feel, and come in from the cold? How can anybody profit? Give of your hand and not your heart And no one’s world can change. When will anybody listen? When all the deer and the antelope Lose their home out on the range? Why does everybody forget? Their little brick and glass domain Can’t shield them from the fire.>I wish that we could all be happy.>I know we should and maybe we could Put our faith a whole lot higher…repeat chorus I know it’s cold out there…I’ve been to that empty place, But you can be warm inside…the light can shine on your face. inst…repeat chorus    © 1990 TF All these years later, the so-called lgbtq movement has attempted to hijack the meaning of rainbows. But, as a Christian, I know it will always be a covenant God made with us. He said He would never again flood the entire earth. And that the bow in the sky, after a rain, would be a sign of His covenant with us. Now, that’s a beautiful use of beautiful colors. Too bad some try to pervert it. In the end, that won’t work out well for them. If you support the modern day take on what a rainbow means, you should connect with me.
