    E120 - 2026 And Beyond (w/Marc Brownstein)

E120 - 2026 And Beyond - Marc Brownstein returns to discuss The Disco Biscuits' new lineup, their recent Jamcruise sets, and where he sees the band headed in 2026 and beyond. He describes the pressure-cooker atmosphere that surrounded the band's fall tour, his musical relationship with new drummer Marlon B. Lewis, and how he and his fellow band members have been using their time off the road this winter to write music, get healthy, and spend time with their families. Max asks if the band's light touring schedule indicates a return to a destination-era touring model, and Marc explains the hybrid approach that the band has planned for this summer and fall. PLUS, Marc shares an exclusive preview of a brand-new DJ Brownie remix of the Conspirator classic Orch Theme. This episode features excerpts from the following live performances:Little Shimmy in a Conga Line, from December 21, 2025 atSoul Power '74, Star Kitchen, from April 20, 2023 at Ardmore Music Hall, Ardmore, PASave the Robots, from February 6, 2026 at Miami Beach Bandshell, Miami Beach, FLShelby Rose, from February 7, 2026 at Jam Cruise 22Hot Air Balloon, from February 8, 2026 at Jam Cruise 22Vassilios, from February 6, 2026 at Miami Beach Bandshell, Miami Beach, FLThe Bells, from February 6, 2026 at Miami Beach Bandshell, Miami Beach, FLSound 1, from February 6, 2026 at Miami Beach Bandshell, Miami Beach, FLPhoto credit: Aaron Bradley PhotoFor all tour dates and tickets, head over to discobiscuits.com/shows.424-666-SIYDinsta: @touchdownsallday / @fymaxwell / @barbershredsx: @tdadbaby / @fymaxwell / @barbershredsSupport this show http://supporter.acast.com/touchdownsallday. E119 - Welcome to the band, Marlon

E119 - Welcome to the Band, Marlon - Max is joined by Marlon B. Lewis for an interview that traces his path from Upper Darby High to Berklee College of Music to drumming for The Disco Biscuits. Marlon opens up about his musical influences, his approach to improvisation, the deep faith that guides him on stage and off, and his exhilaration over playing alongside Barber, Magner, and Brownie. He shares his feelings about the Biscuits' catalog, including the songs he's most looking forward to debuting this winter, and acknowledges the lessons he's learned from studying his predecessors Allen and Sammy. And because he's Philly born and raised, Marlon definitely has strong opinions about who's got the best cheesesteak and the Birds' and Sixers' playoff prospects. The road to New Year's Eve 2025 begins on December 18 in Minneapolis, MN. E114 - Snowball Fight at the Giants Game - On the Monday after the band's three-night Pine Creek Lodge run Barber and Max regroup and recap the Ardmore Bisco Sixer and the first half of the Between the Trees tour. Barber describes the minimalistic approach that created standout jams and his excitement over introducing his and Joey's newest song, Dream Journal, into the rotation. E112 - Touchdowns With All The Fixins

E112 - Before Max joined Barber as the co-host of Touchdowns All Day he was the straight-man sidekick for another...shall we say...interesting personality. Reality TV star Corinne Kaplan has a well-earned reputation as Survivor's "Queen of Mean.". Her outrageous real-life stories and uncancelable spirit have also made her one of the greatest podcast guests (and hosts) in the game today. In this special episode, Max introduces his new co-host to his old co-host, orchestrating a meeting of two of the most fascinating and unusual minds on the planet today. In addition to catching up on reality TV gossip, Barber and Corinne trade some of their more out-there views on dieting, dating, music, and life itself. Make sure to check out Corinne's new podcast with Big Brother legend Britney Haynes, Where's My Spinoff, wherever you get your audio entertainment. And don't ask where you can find the old episodes of All The Fixins...it ain't happening. Autumn is almost here, and with it, The Disco Biscuits' massive Fall Tour! E107 - Conducting Camp Home Again

E107 - Conducting Camp Home Again - Max and Barber spent the afternoon grilling and swimming and then sat down to try to record a podcast. Fortunately, their guest was Matt Butler, all-around mensch and the man behind The Everyone Orchestra. This past June, Matt had the unusual honor of conducting an all-improv set by The Disco Biscuits at Camp Home Again. The jams that set produced marked a turning point in the band's summer tour and unlocked sounds and textures that can be heard across many of their subsequent shows. In addition to breaking down the Camp Home Again jams, Matt reflects upon the influences that shaped his unique approach to improvisation, including his childhood exposure to the Eugene Symphony, his athletic background, and his creative collaborations with the late Ken Kesey. This episode features excerpts of the following live performance:Camp Home Again Jams 1 and 3, from June 19, 2025 at Bearsville Theater, Woodstock, NYIt's a Philadelphia Sixer! E097 - The Guru, Part 2 (I Remember When)

TOUCHDOWNS ALL DAY w/ JON BARBER & MAX DAWSONE097 - The Guru, Part 2 (I Remember When) - Benjy Eisen is a New York Times best-selling author, music journalist, artist manager, promoter, and podcaster. He's also one of the original jamband influencers, and for more than three decades he has catalyzed and mythologized our scene. Benjy's relationship with The Disco Biscuits stretches back to 1997, when he became one of the band's original fans, advocates, confidants, and collaborators. Part two of our interview with Benjy begins with the creation of DiscussBiscuits, the band's first online discussion forum, and focuses on the events of 1998 and 1999, two pivotal years in the history of The Disco Biscuits. Benjy describes how his experiences at festivals like All Good and Autumn Equinox inspired him and his friends to launch Melstock, a multi-day camping and music event hosted on the Mechanicsburg, PA family farm of early Biscuits fan Jason Melham. In addition, Benjy recounts his involvement in the first performance of The Hot Air Balloon rock opera on December 31, 1998, and shares the story of how he accidentally came up with the idea for Camp Bisco. For full video of our interview with Benjy, which includes archival footage of historic Disco Biscuits performances, please check out (and subscribe to) the Touchdowns All Day YouTube Channel.Special thanks to Mike Zarcone, Chris Kasari, Colleen Stern, and Carla Ngo for archival photos and videos. This episode features excerpts of the following live Disco Biscuits' performances:Pygmy Twylyte, from December 2, 1997 at Theater of the Living Arts, Philadelphia, PABernstein and Chasnoff, from December 12, 1997 at Bogie's, Albany, NYM.E.M.P.H.I.S., from February 9, 1999 at Newby's, Memphis, TNMagellan, from September 28, 1999 at Autumn Equinox Festival, Wilmer's Park, Brandywine, MDIMan, from June 27, 1998 at Melstock, Melham's Farm, Mechanicsburg, PAWhat a Show, from December 2, 1997 at Theater of the Living Arts, Philadelphia, PAHelicopters, from August 28, 1998 at Wetlands Preserve, New York, NYHelicopters, from June 28, 1999 at Melstock, Melham's Farm, Mechanicsburg, PAAbove the Waves, from December 31, 1998 at Silk City, Philadelphia, PABernstein and Chasnoff, from January 23, 1999 at Stone Church, Newmarket, NHTickets are now on sale for TDB30, Celebrating 30 Years of The Disco Biscuits! E096 - The Guru (I Remember When)

TOUCHDOWNS ALL DAY w/ JON BARBER & MAX DAWSONE096 - The Guru (I Remember When) - Benjy Eisen is a New York Times best-selling author, music journalist, artist manager, promoter, and podcaster. He's also one of the original jamband influencers, and for more than three decades he has catalyzed and mythologized our scene. Benjy's relationship with The Disco Biscuits stretches back to 1997, when he became one of the band's original fans, advocates, confidants, and collaborators. In this, the first of a two-part interview, Benjy looks back on his and the band's formative days and the emergence of the Pennsylvania jam diaspora of Philly, Harrisburg, State College, Elizabethtown, and Mechanicsburg. He takes us back to the days of The Blue Terrapin and Cafe 210, a time when The Disco Biscuits were still searching for their identity, and shares his memories of meeting the dedicated coterie of young fans who would become his and the band's lifelong friends. Benjy is responsible for turning many people on to the music of The Disco Biscuits, including four guys from Vermont, and his passion for and belief in the band has been a throughline of their thirty year career. This episode features excerpts of the following live Disco Biscuits' performances:A Night in Tunisia and Boogie Stop Shuffle, from July 11, 1997 at Blue Terrapin, Elizabethtown, PABanter, from July 13, 1997 at Sturtz Court, Reading, PALittle Shimmy in a Conga Line, from January 19, 1999 at Flapjack's Pub at Paul's Pancake House, Dillsburg, PARoadhouse Blues and My Lady Survives, from December 8, 1997 at Cafe 210, State College, PA Tickets are now on sale for TDB30, Celebrating 30 Years of The Disco Biscuits! E095 - Basis for a Day (Song Spotlight Series)

TOUCHDOWNS ALL DAY w/ JON BARBER & MAX DAWSONE095 - Basis for a Day (Song Spotlight Series) - In TDAD094 we brought you the story of Kevin Abrams, the filmmaker, novelist, and bassist for a day who, along with his college best friend, composed The Disco Biscuits' signature song in 1995. In this episode we're joined by Andy Bazany, author of The Biscuits Internet Project's definitive history of Basis for a Day, for an in-depth discussion of that song's thirty-year history. Basis for a Day is The Disco Biscuits' Dark Star (or Tweezer, if you're so inclined). Its modular structure and myriad tempo and key changes have made it the band's most exciting, exploratory, and impactful jam vehicle. Basis is a license to get weird, a laboratory for experimentation, and a lodestar for the band's ongoing evolution. We trace the history of Basis for a Day from its earliest, embryonic versions through its current-day incarnation as a show-stopping set piece via a selection of standout versions hand selected by Andy, longtime Disco Biscuits archival recording engineer Rich Steele, and their colleagues on the Touchdowns All Day Advisory Committee. Plus, Max digs deep into the PLAN C archives to uncover the earliest recorded version of the song, from the band's performance on November 9, 1995.This episode features excerpts of the following live Disco Biscuits' performances:Basis for a Day, from August 7, 1996 at Wetlands Preserve, New York, NYBasis for a Day > Help on the Way, from December 10, 1995 at an unknown venue, Philadelphia, PABasis for a Day, from July 3, 1998 at Webster Hall, New York, NYBasis for a Day, from May 1, 1999 at Wetlands Preserve, New York, NYBasis for a Day, from January 29, 1999 at Friar Tuck’s, Norfolk, VABasis for a Day, from October 6, 1999 at Palookaville, Santa Cruz, CABasis for a Day, from October 27, 2000 at Bluebird, Bloomington, INAceetobee > The Great Abyss, from November 4, 2007 at Town Ballroom, Buffalo, NYBasis for a Day, from November 4, 2007 at Town Ballroom, Buffalo, NYBasis for a Day, from December 28, 2018 at The Fillmore, Philadelphia, PABasis for a Day, from April 17, 1999 at Alley Katz, Richmond, VABasis for a Day, from April 9, 1999 at The Trocadero, Philadelphia, PABasis for a Day (fakeout), from October 2, 1999 at Café Tomo, Arcata, CABasis for a Day, from April 17, 2003 at Vogue Theater, Indianapolis, INBasis for a Day, from September 27, 2013 at The Mann Center for the Performing Arts, Philadelphia, PAMirrors > Basis for a Day, from September 19, 2009 at Stubb's Bar-B-Q, Austin, TXBernstein and Chasnoff > Basis for a Day, from May 14, 1999 at The Stoned Monkey, Huntington, WVBasis for a Day, from July 9, 2023 at Pine Creek Lodge, Pine Creek, MTBasis for a Day, from November 9, 1995 at an unknown venue, Philadelphia, PATickets are now on sale for TDB30, Celebrating 30 Years of The Disco Biscuits! E080 - Bernstein and Chasnoff (Song Spotlight Series)

TOUCHDOWNS ALL DAY w/ JON BARBER & MAX DAWSONE080 - Bernstein and Chasnoff (Song Spotlight Series) - For years you've heard the songs...Now hear the stories of the people who inspired them. Andy Bernstein is a jamband Zelig and the inspiration for one of the Disco Biscuits' most beloved classics, "Bernstein and Chasnoff." A friend and collaborator of Marc Brownstein's since their Brooklyn days, Andy has enjoyed a front-row seat for the Biscuits' entire career. But Andy has never been just a spectator. As the author and editor of The Pharmer's Almanac he helped codify the lore and cannon surrounding Phish. As the co-founder and executive director of HeadCount he oversaw an organization that has registered more than 1.5 M music fans (and counting) to vote. And in his current role as the president of the board of Trey Anastasio's Divided Sky Foundation he's helping to establish a cutting-edge residential recovery program for individuals affected by addiction. We conclude the episode with a visit from another Andy: the Biscuits Internet Project's Andy Bazany, who stops by to share five of his all-time favorite versions of "Bernstein and Chasnoff."For a more in-depth conversation about Andy Bernstein's work at HeadCount and Divided Sky, check out his recent appearance on the Roadcase Podcast. This episode features excerpts of the following live Disco Biscuits' performances:Intro, Pat & Dex, and Mr Don, from April 18, 1996 at Penn Rocks, University of Pennsylvania, Philadelphia, PAThe Devil’s Waltz, from March 10, 1999 at Ritz, Salt Lake City, UTThe Very Moon, from March 12, 1999 at Fox Theater, Boulder, COAquatic Ape, from March 13, 1999 at Starlight, Fort Collins, COBasis for a Day, from April 9, 1999 at Trocadero Theater, Philadelphia, PANo Matter (The Maui Project), from April 8, 2000 at Wetlands Preserve, NY, NYDisco Bisquick, from August 7, 1996 at Wetlands Preserve, NY, NYRun Like Hell, from October 31, 1997 at Phi Sigma Kappa, University Of Pennsylvania, Philadelphia, PAPeaches En Regalia, from April 18, 1996 at Penn Rocks, University of Pennsylvania, Philadelphia, PABernstein and Chasnoff, from July 5, 1996 at Downtime, NY, NYTrooper McCue, from August 7, 1996 at Wetlands Preserve, NY, NYBernstein and Chasnoff, from September 24, 2023 at Delmar Hall, St. Louis, MOBernstein and Chasnoff, from March 23, 1998 at Tammany Hall, Worcester, MABernstein and Chasnoff, from January 23, 1999 at Stone Church, Newmarket, NHBernstein and Chasnoff, from May 5, 1999 at Exit Inn, Nashville, TNBernstein and Chasnoff, from September 11, 1999 at Iron Horse Music Hall, Northampton, MABernstein and Chasnoff, from October 27, 2000 at Bluebird, Bloomington, INBernstein and Chasnoff, from September 6. 2001 at Higher Ground, South Burlington, VTBernstein and Chasnoff, from August 16, 2007 at Indian Lookout Country Club, Mariaville, NYBernstein and Chasnoff, from February 3, 2017 at The Fillmore, Philadelphia, PABernstein and Chasnoff, from December 31, 1998 at Silk City, Philadelphia, PABernstein and Chasnoff, from December 29, 2006 at Theater Of The Living Arts, Philadelphia, PASupport this show http://supporter.acast.com/touchdownsallday.
