    Triple H Newsdesk - Entire Programme 27/11/13

This week's entire Triple H Newsdesk program. All the region's news, plus: Newsdesk looks at a local proposal for a women’s homelessness shelter in Hornsby. What can the north shore community do about a problem that’s very hard to see? And, confusion and concern over a plan by the state government to allow unregulated clearing of trees in bushfire-prone areas. We hear about the group of Berowra locals determined to renovate sporting facilities at a local oval themselves. They’re doing it without the council’s help - and without their money. And a mural at Asquith Boys High School is about to be demolished. But it was never supposed to be painted in the first place. What is it, and why has it become such an icon? This week's program is once again slightly shorter than usual due to the absence of James Elton-Pym, who is away this week. It's also our last program for the year - thank you very much for listening and we'll be back after our break over the summer. Triple H Newsdesk - Entire Programme 20/11/13

Our assistant producer Edward Luca fills in for James Elton-Pym this week, who is away. The program is slightly shorter than usual due to James' absence. On this program: a tornado in Hornsby! Newsdesk hears from two eyewitnesses to the storm. Cars flipped, trees came down and roofs at Westfield and Event Cinemas collapsed amid swirling winds. And, we hear from the mayor of Ku-ring-gai on the council’s plan for Turramurra’s town centre - but is it threatened by Coles? Declan Gooch speaks to Hornsby police about the theft of a $100,000 digger. How did thieves make off with such a huge vehicle? And the Asquith store that’s just been voted New South Wales’ favourite local business. But which one is it? Have you been there? Triple H Newsdesk - Entire Programme 13/11/13

All the region's news, plus: We hear from Fire and Rescue NSW about last Friday's bushfires in West Pymble and North Epping and how close the blazes came to homes. And, we follow up on the death of cyclist Paulo Froes in South Turramurra. What, if anything, can the council do to stop it happening again? Also, Ku-ring-gai councillors divided over whether St Ives shopping centre’s offer to run a shuttle bus around the suburb, in partnership with the council, is community mindedness, or just a grab for more customers. Declan Gooch speaks to Gordon Benny, the 81-year-old Thornleigh resident with a collection of 5 vintage speedcars that he still races. He'll be attending this Saturday's Triple H motor show at Berowra. And the North Turramurra Action Group had some big ticket guests at their AGM - the premier, the planning minister and the mayor. So was it all for show, or are the state politicians taking the group seriously? James Elton-Pym finds out.
