About Being UniqueHow Rapper Unique crafts Life Into Lyricsby Alicia R ThomasYou've heard his tracks on iTunes. You've seen his videos on YouTube. You've purchased his albums and admired the cover art, even learned the lyrics. Maybe you've even seen him peform. Idryis Muhammad, known as Unique, is one of the very few flourishing rappers Harrisburg can claim as it's own. He worked with artisits like 12'o'Clock, Prodigal Sun, and Rza, making music that was a mixture of rap, soul, hip-hop and R&B. "a li'l bit of everything," Unique said. He created two music videos, each at least year long projects, for the songs "Someones at the Door"and "Get off Me" both of which are now up for public view online. And even as his rap career skyrocketed, Unique stayed grounded, performing for his home community; he and the other half of his rap duo Secret Society wrote inspiring lyrics at the Harrisburg AIDS Prevention Society, using music as an educational tool to inform younger people of the risks

Real Rap "Skit"
Real Rap Skit” is speaking on real life to put away the guns. A gun isn’t always the answer to your problems. Sometimes, pick up a book or pray. When you are in an argument to learn how to walk away, not lead into the negative vibes that could send you to jail. And it also talks about having respect for other people. Acknowledge and take care of your responsibilities, and learn how to live in unity and also have a humble heart and be at peace with yourself. Never let no one take you out your circle of being focused and comfortable on your destiny.

Stand Up feat. general jazz ,black dutch
“Stand up” I featured “Black Dutch” and “General Jazz”. The main idea of this song is going out having fun, pulling the people that don’t like to party into the party, by pulling your mans up. Then I tell you in the chorus that we making moves because the clans up. “Black Dutch” started off as a live wire. “General Jazz”, he holds down the middle, while “Ra Da Sunlord” verse is the straw that breaks the camels back with a unique finish and an ill flow to the beat. We performed this like we were in front of a live audience. The beat pounding, that’s what’s going to have y’all head knocking through the whole song. Just like this song, it was a Ra Da Sunlord Production; most of 85% of the album was produced by Unique as Ra Da Sunlord.

N da city feat. blesz ,heavenly earth asia ,
“N Da City” was a song that I produced and wrote the chorus and idea. “N Da City” means no particular city. “N Da City” is for all cities, small cities and big cities. When secret society comes through to do our thing on the mic, we are coming to do it in your city. And with that song, I wanted it to sound like we were actually on the road, in different cities. That’s where all the city sound effects play there position. To give you that real life feeling of standing on the corner in the city, city noise in the background, cars passing while you are listening to your iPad, mp3, iPod, etc. I featured “Heavenly Earth Asia” and “Ish” on this track, and I mean we all were like on the same level as far as the idea of the song. This is a real special song, just like all the other songs throughout the album, I felt like I gave you a little bit of a description of each song, so when you listen it, see it, or hear it come up, by reading this before or while listening to the cd. It will give you a better understanding of what was on “Ra Da Sunlords” mind while working on this project, song for song, break down by break down

i do what i wanna do
I DO WHAT I WANNA DO is one of those songs where Ra Da Sunlord kept it real. Is was like one of those FUCK IT songs (excuse my language), but i was upset while i was writing it. It was like I could do what I want, when I want, how I want, figure it out. Unique felt like he could do whatever he want, he had no one to listen to except his parents. And then at certain times he didnt listen to them. Also this song has a lot to do with the way i was living, my frame of thinking, my pattern, technique, and dressing, you couldnt tell me nothing. No bodys word could go against me, Im stingy, i want all of the energy. I was surprised at the end that a lot of people ended up loving this song. I had a friend of mine that i hadn't spoke to in a while. And when we spoke, within the conversation. he told me someone told his cd. He was going through hard times at that moment. He told me he just wants to hear "I do what i wanna do" and he cant do that. I told him to calm down sun, look up the album name on youtube and there you go. I then sent him a copy. He was so happy and thankful. He said i made his day. And that is all im trying to do with my music, make everybodies day happy. ENJOY!

S 2 S DA SHIT full version
S To Da S Shit is one of my hit songs. My brother Blesz did the production. of this song. Oron Da Wicked Warrior and I sat back, writing and working on our verses to the beat. My brother just started chanting, "S to da s shit, s to da s shit, carve it in your chest bitch!" By the time we were done writing our verses, we joined in on the chorus, and then song was made. A lot of stuff i said in my verse was true facts, mixed with fiction. Oron did his thing as a strong artist coming behind in after my verse. He moved his chest peace on this song well. Enjoy!

chrome wheelz with rza,12 oclock, prodigal sunn,ft. ra da sunlord
Chrome Wheelz is a song that was recorded in 2000. My cousin RZA was working on a few songs so i got a chance to hop on this song Chrome Wheels. With Rza, 12 o'clock, Prodigal Sunn, and with a singer who i can't remember her name right now. Rza was working on a few albums around that time. I thought it was going to be on one of the Sworm albums but he used it in the album Iron Flag. He took my verse out and put Raekwons verse where my verse was. When i heard the song a few years later, I didnt hear my verse in it so i asked my cousin why. He told me at that time they were working on the Wu-Tang album and they chose that song to be on the album. So he put one of the non members verse there. No disrespect. They came out with the album in 2011, i came out with Sharplikasword in 2009. I used the version of the song with me in it and released it on my album and spelled it Chrome Wheelz, with a z not a s. You can look the song up on youtube. Chrome Wheels, with a s, is there version. ANd then look up Chrome Wheelz, with a z, and listen to my version and my verse. Ill let yall be the judge. Enjoy!

Beats out da basement ft. prodigal sunn
Beats Out The Basement was produced by the RZA and I featured Prodigal Sunn. Every studio always start in an attic, garage, closet, basement, and even bathrooms. So basically everyone that has done music started somewhere in one those places, before or if they had a chance to record in a live studio. So writing this song I had my studio in the basement and i wanted to write a song about where I did my music, which was the basement. Sometimes. when your working on music, you have to turn it up a little bit and the base from the speakers will blow the basement door back. Now my mom is screaming "turn it down" and my sister screaming "Turn it up", My dad saying "Make it". Everytime i came with a hit, I had to bake it. Everytime I made a fat beat, I had to take it. So i talked to Prodigal Sunn and he came in with his verse. Now you might hear his verse on GhostFace Killas album on a song called "STREET CHEMISTRY". He used the same verse that he used on BEATS OUT THE BASEMENT. So that verse originated From Beats out the basement. If you hear it again on STREET CHEMISTRY GHOSTFACE KILLA. ENJOY!
