Divine Intervention Saved My Husband’s Life
When the Treatment I Feared Became the Doorway to His Healing Caption: This part of Glen and Debbie Kirkpatrick’s story stopped me in my tracks. After surgery, radiation, chemotherapy, and a mental health crisis that brought them to the edge, ECT felt terrifying to even consider. But after prayer, multiple medical opinions, and surrendering the decision to God, what they once feared became part of Glen’s healing. Debbie said it saved his life. Glen said it did. And through that season, he also began studying the Bible and came to faith. Sometimes the road to healing looks nothing like we expected. Can We Change the Mental Health Story for the Next Generation? | Unshaken Voices
New episode of Unshaken Voices is now live. This is a conversation for parents, grandparents, caregivers, and anyone who loves a child and wants to help protect the next generation. In this episode, I’m talking about the genetic component of mental illness, the role environment can play, and why education matters so deeply. My parents did not have the knowledge we have today. That is one reason I use my voice now. If we know more, we can do better. I often say mental illness may load the gun, but environment can be the trigger. This episode is about awareness, wisdom, prevention, and hope for the families who come after us. Please listen, share, and send this to a parent, grandparent, caregiver, or educator who needs to hear it. #UnshakenVoices #MentalHealthAwareness #BreakTheStigma #GenerationalHealing #ParentingWithPurpose

Audio Version What Mania Took From Me (And Why It Still Scares Me) Episode 3
What Mania Took From Me (And Why It Still Scares Me) In this deeply personal episode of Unshaken Voices, Denise Pimentel speaks honestly about the part of bipolar disorder that frightens her most: mania. Mania is often misunderstood as energy or productivity. But in reality, it can blur insight, distort perception, and create a dangerous sense of certainty. Denise shares lived experiences from her journey, including moments of psychosis, relational strain, and the impact mania had on her marriage and family. With clarity, faith, and responsibility, she explains why understanding the illness changed everything for the people who love her. This episode is not about dramatizing mental illness. It is about telling the truth with care so that others may recognize warning signs, seek support earlier, and know they are not alone. If you love someone living with bipolar disorder, or if you live with it yourself, this conversation is for you. If you or someone you love is struggling with suicidal thoughts, help is available in the United States by calling or texting 988.

Mania Almost Destroyed My Marriage, But Hope Saved Us
Mania Almost Destroyed My Marriage, But Hope Saved Us Mania didn’t just affect me. It entered my marriage. It changed how I spoke, how I acted, and how the person who loved me most experienced me. There was a moment my husband Ryan almost walked away, not because he didn’t love me, but because I became someone he no longer recognized. In Episode 3, I share what that brink felt like and how treatment, support, and faith helped bring us back from it. If you are loving someone through mental illness, you are not alone. Hope is still possible. Episode 3 drops this Wednesday. #bipolarawareness #mentalhealthmarriage #caregiverlife #faithandhealing #unshaken

How My Mother's Death Pulled Me Away From My Faith
How My Mother’s Death Pulled Me Away From Faith I was born and raised Roman Catholic. Church was routine. Faith was familiar. But when my mother died, everything changed. Grief made it easy to walk away not just from church, but from trusting God’s plan altogether. What I didn’t understand then was what a real relationship with Jesus actually looked like, or what surrender truly meant. This episode of Unshaken Voices speaks honestly about how loss can quietly pull us away from faith and how God remains present even when we step back. If you’ve ever questioned God after loss, this story is for you. 🎙️ Unshaken Voices with Denise Pimentel Episode 2 coming Wednesday #UnshakenVoices #FaithAfterLoss #GriefAndFaith #ChristianTestimony #WalkingThroughGrief #WhenFaithFeelsDistant #HopeInTheDark #ChristianPodcast #PodcastTeaser #FaithJourney #HealingThroughFaith #GodInTheHardMoments

When I Finally Surrendered | The Moment That Changed Me #podcast #unshaken
Episode 2 | Unshaken Voices “I think when I really surrendered myself was last December.” She speaks honestly about a season marked by grief, loneliness, frustration, anger, and bitterness. A time when faith existed in theory, but not in priority. Prayer was occasional. Hope felt distant. And then, in an ordinary moment, something shifted. A return after years away. A quiet surrender. A simple sentence overheard in a parking lot: You don’t have to do this alone. God’s there for you. That was the moment it clicked. Not that God had arrived, but that He had been there all along. As the storm silences the world and keeps us home tonight, stories still speak. Episode 2 is coming. Episode 2 of Unshaken Voices is a reminder for anyone who feels worn down, disconnected, or unsure how to find their way back. Surrender doesn’t come with perfection. It comes with honesty. 🎧 Episode 2 coming soon. 🤍 You are not alone in this. #UnshakenVoices #FaithJourney #Surrender #Testimony #ChristianPodcast #FindingYourWayBack #GodIsNear #HopeAfterGrief #YouAreNotAlone

I can't handle this — then someone showed up
There were moments when everything felt like too much and I knew I could not handle it on my own. In those moments, faith became more than a belief. It became a lifeline. This is a real story about reaching a breaking point, walking without direction, and experiencing God’s intervention through another person. It is about fear, surrender, and the quiet but powerful way God meets us when we cannot move forward alone.

Episode 1 of Unshaken Voices releases Tuesday. In this first episode, Ryan and I have an honest conversation about what it’s really like to live with bipolar disorder from both sides. We talk about how mania can dramatically change behavior, how painful and confusing that can be for a spouse to witness, and the difference between who a person truly is and what mental illness can do.
