We’ll talk with Professor John Edgar Browning who studied self-identified vampires in New Orleans who drink human and animal blood to sustain themselves. Then Eva will read an excerpt from her forthcoming novel, A Hellish Fury. Finally, Dan will review a 1990s film that uses vampirism as a metaphor for drug addiction.

    Coming up on Vamp Chat with Dan & Eva: New York Times best-selling author, J.R. Ward, will join us for the final episode of Season 3. J.R. will talk about her Black Dagger Brotherhood series of novels which has been adapted by Passionflix. Is the series as steamy as the books? We’ll find out.  And Eva will review the new Dracula A Love Tale, currently out in Europe and to be released here in the States in January. It’s a great night all the way around!

Then Eva will delve into accounts of revenants in 12th Century England. Finally, Dan will review a Swedish vampire film about a bullied boy and his mysterious new friend who appears to be a 12 YO girl.

    He's the great grand-nephew of Dracula author Bram Stoker. He also wrote the sequel and prequel to that gothic masterpiece. Dacre Stoker is our next guest on VampChat and we're excited to talk about the aforementioned, plus the tour he'll lead this June to Transylvania. Then, to close the show, Eva will review a TV adaptation of...wait for it... Dracula!

    Season 2 of VampChat will be extra fangtastic and we’re starting it off in Ep. 1 with James Heberger, author of Legacy of the Moon. This novel is about a mysterious psychiatric patient who, during therapy, reveals his true hybrid nature. Then Eva will share folklore about a grotesque blood-sucking creature from southeast Asia. Finally, Dan will review the highly anticipated film, Nosferatu.

    What makes a good vampire tale? Andy Boylan reviewed hundreds of books and films for his blog, Taliesin Meets the Vampires. We'll ask him on the next episode of VampChat. Also: Did you know William Faulkner wrote a vampire screenplay? Prof. Michelle E. Moore will share details about the script for Dreadful Hollow. Finally, Dan & Eva review the film and TV versions of What We Do in the Shadows. It's a special All Hallows Eve-Eve edition of VampChat with Dan & Eva.

Then: "Sticks and stones may break your bones, but bricks will stop a vampire." Eva’s Fanged Folklore segment explains how a simple brick can save you from a vampire. Finally, Dan reviews a TV miniseries that scared the wits out of a generation of children.

    We talk with Jacqueline Holland, author of a vampire novel which wins our award for Most Ominous Title: The God of Endings. Then Dan leads the "fanged folklore" segment by delving into a series of mass exhumations that led to the first mention of vampires in an official document.
