Wax and Wane: A Post-Punk Journey

Mostly trip hop with various synth-based songs mixed throughout.

A mix of slower synth and dark wave for the most part.

In honor of the last Friday of Black History Month, all songs in this set are by Black artists and bands that feature Black musicians.

Mix of post-punk, dark wave, and mellow synth that divide the show into thirds.

Kind-of, sort-of love songs for a Friday the 13th before Valentine's Day.

Mostly dream and synthpop starting out with some newer songs, also features a mix of Japanese and Mexican artists. We end off the show with a celebration of the last Monday of January with "Blue Monday" by New Order.

A bit of a mashup of genre but some classics and a few of my favorite songs sprinkled throughout.

Mostly synth-based dance music with a bit of industrial, dark wave, and new wave sprinkled throughout.

A bit ghostly, kind of spooky, but most definitely dramatic sounding vocals and instrumentals. The second hour transitioned over into some 80's that had a similar tone to the first hour without some of the drama. Ended the night with a "I am the Resurrection" as a tribute to the Stone Roses bassist Gary "Mani" Mounfield who passed away on the 20th.

Mostly 80's new wave with some modern synth mixed in. from artists we all know and love like Duran Duran, Gary Numan and the Thompson Twins.

Host Gianna took listeners on a two-hour musical journey through the worlds of post-punk and new wave. The first hour was packed with high-energy 80s vibes, featuring classics from artists like Depeche Mode, Talk Talk, and New Order.As the show progressed, Gianna slowed down the tempo, transitioning into a more laid-back, yet equally atmospheric, second hour. She also took a special request from a listener named "Big Al," playing The Smiths' "How Soon Is Now." The show closed with the Cocteau Twins' "Wax and Wayne," the very song that inspired the show's name.
