A slave is anyone in captivity or an oppressive state that has been stripped of all fundamental human rights. Every slave belongs to a slave- master. During the slave trade era, human beings were sold like commodities in open markets. Slavery was widespread in Africa. Slaves were abused, brutalized and sometimes used as human sacrifices to local deities. It is estimated that over 75 million Africans died while being shipped to various slave trade markets in the Americas, in Europe and other destinations due to horrible conditions they underwent in transport vessels. During the arduous voyages by sea, they were usually packed like sardines in the most unsanitary conditions. Slaves were often in chains. Some even had their lips padlocked, while others were blindfolded for many days, weeks or months.The trans-Atlantic slave trade flourished for about four centuries. African leaders were also guilty of human trade atrocities. They sold their fellow Africans as slaves for a pittance to Europeans who invaded African cities, exchanging human lives for western artifacts, guns and other commodities. Coastal communities in African nations bore the brunt of those despicable activities. African leaders audaciously traded their sons and daughters for insignificant cutlery, alcohol and worthless trinkets. In very many developed Countries of the world, slavery was practiced extensively. Children were sold as slaves by parents who used them as collateral to secure loans, which they often failed to repay. Female slaves were used for sex. And when they contacted sexually transmitted diseases, they were discarded like garbage and left to die. Slavery is generally a crippling and dehumanizing act that brings about a sense of inferiority, fear, depression, misery, sorrow and pain to its victims. It causes premature death. It is evil, an aberration and a calamity to humanity. Some historians believe that the total number of Africans killed or abducted as slaves were over a 100 million.Racism is another blight of bad success. It is the shameful and appalling ideological phenomenon that surprisingly still rears its ugly head in many parts of the world and in various strata of humanity. It is the stereotyped and prejudiced belief that some races are superior to others in terms of ideologies, resources, attitude, power, technological advancement and so on. Racism is a primitive, crude, immoral, outrageous, unreasonable and unfounded philosophy of people who inanely opt to dwell in darkness in the midst of light. It is senseless to believe that the colour of a person’s skin affects his or her intellect or potentials. There is no human being on Earth that had a choice regarding the race, family or religion that he or she was born into. Racism is born out of hatred and self-deceit. It is an absurdity. The bid ended on the 24th day of October that same year and the highest bidder was a Japanese man who reportedly won the bid at a whooping seven hundred and eighty thousand US Dollars ($780,000). For weeks, this despicable online “virginity demolition bid” went on. It was shocking to see how unabashed men fought tenaciously to pay such a whooping sum of money just to dis-virgin a 20-year-old girl. What an incredible absurdity. It was also reported that the act was to be consummated aboard a private airplane on a flight from Australia to the United States of America. Her aim purportedly was to raise money to help poor families in her community in southern Brazil. It is indeed ludicrous that prostitution could be depicted as a legitimate instrument to help the poor.It was flabbergasting to monitor such bizarre online virginity demolition bid as several men had contended for that outrageous episode of a goofy contemporaneous prostitution. In this 21st century, absurdity has been subtly repackaged. How sad it is that a 20-year-old girl, devoid of all decency and dignity would condescend to such level of inanity. But why recount this sordid report? It is because success is indeed relative and means different things to different people, be it prostitutes, armed robbers, bandits, terrorists, corrupt politician, crooked entrepreneurs, despotic and cruel leaders like Adolf Hitler who only attract bad successes to their names.  While some people aspire to impact humanity positively and successfully, there are those whose success goals were or are steered at destroying lives and properties, and bringing misery to humankind. Undoubtedly, bad success attracts sorrow and often leads to destruction.Enjoy!

That has led many people to give up hope and to regrettably seduce the idea of committing suicide. When you hear stories about your peers who have become multi-millionaires flaunting huge amounts of monies, do not be envious of them, and do not consider yourself a failure.The saying goes that success and failure are on the same track. Someone can suffer humiliation when he or she commits an anti-social or illegal act like stealing, drug trafficking and fraud. Humiliation can demoralize an individual or people. It can distract and agitate anyone. It is the abasement of one’s dignity. Disgrace or humiliation simply means to be out-of-grace. It means: to lose honor, to disfavor, to bring shame, to lose reputation, to discredit, to degrade, to dehumanize, to scandalize, to lose respect, to lose a good name. Humiliation can ruin anyone. It is a raging emotional fire and a devourer of dignity. It devours the confidence and self-esteem of its victims. The impact of the humiliation can be absolutely shattering and withering. The tenth barrier to success is what we refer to as the sting of premature death. It is an artillery of adversity that blows up people’s destinies like a bunker buster bomb. It has terminated the goals of countless people and abruptly obliterated even those who are succeeding on various fronts. Enjoy!

Every human being suffers the scourge of delay and disappointments one way or another. Delay frustrates people’s dreams and leads to hopelessness.
