    This episode celebrates Italian Cuisine and Culture. Erin heads to Carbonara in Arlington for a pasta-making lesson with Chef and Restaurateur Mike Cordero. After having fun in the kitchen, they stopped in the walk-in freezer for a tour. Then, they sat down to discuss Mike's incredible career while enjoying signature dishes like the chicken parm, tableside carbonara and tiramisu. Come hungry!

    A Springtime spotlight on Vagabond in DC! For this episode, Erin heads to 18th St NW to meet the team and learn about their personal connections to the surf inspired menu. Partner Eric Heidenberger walks us through the food menu, and then we head upstairs to the rooftop to go over the Spring cocktail menu with Partner Frank Wilson. His favorite cocktail on the menu was inspired by his honeymoon travels. Erin ends the episode behind the bar with Beverage Director Giovanni Maramis whipping up a signature drink.

They started with a special tasting of wine and cheese that both come from the 400+ Acre farm and vineyard. From there, they head to the Bakehouse to make some pizza and meet the happy cows that make that fresh cheese possible!

    Erin heads to Snallygaster in Washington, DC to experience one of the biggest beer festivals in the United States!! She kicks things off with a taste of tequila and a chat with the team from Mosto Tequila with Founder Nelson Benavides, and Regional Sales Director, Antonio Fonseca. From there, Matt Tarpey, Founder/Brew Master of Mosto Tequila and Veil Brewing jumps in because it's time to talk about all things beer and get into all the amazing tastes you can experience at this unique festival. Lastly, Co-creator of Snallygaster Michael Babin who is also the owner of Neighborhood Restaurant Group jumps in to tell us all about what makes this festival so special! Her motto is "Food is Fashion" and that philosophy shines through in all she does, including her new addition to Black + Forth - Something Suite. There, they serve up coffee, tea, and sweets. Angel joins Erin in her kitchen to make some tea mocktails and talk about her inspiring journey.

    Erin continues her travels this week on Martha’s Vineyard and explores a brand-new restaurant in Oak Bluffs, Black Joy Kitchen. Chef Ting and the team are serving up delicious food and drinks that tells the story of the Black Diaspora. The atmosphere is warm and welcoming - and the culinary experience takes you on a flavorful cultural journey from around the world. The team blends fine dining with a warm environment. Every dish is perfected with love. It was one of Erin’s favorite dining experiences in Martha’s Vineyard.

    WCWC #017 - Fish Sandwich Tour (On Location at Martha's Vineyard)

    Erin looks forward to the beautiful beaches, incredible sunsets, fresh seafood- especially oysters and lobster rolls- every summer when she visits Martha's Vineyard. She has done the drive and taken the ferry in the past, but this year took a direct flight from DC to enjoy the best of what New England island life has to offer. Since Erin is on vacation, this episode isn't from her home kitchen, rather we took the show on the road to experience a fish sammie tour of the vineyard! AND WOW... it did not disappoint. Erin adds, "After eight stops and eight different sandwiches - I didn't find a bad bite - just depends on your preference of fish type, preparation, roll, and toppings. The fish is just so fresh the entire tour was a treat full of fresh catches making this experience a foodie's dream."Come join Erin on the tour from Menemsha to Edgartown, through Vineyard Haven and Oak Bluffs, tasting what each town has to offer!

    WCWC #009 - Patowmack Farms (On Location in Lovettsville, VA)

    We took "What's Cooking With Como" on location to The Restaurant at Patowmack Farm in Lovettsville, VA. Located about an hour and half drive from DC, it is such an amazing destination. We tour the farm with Chef Colby Janowitz and talk with farm owner Beverly Morton Billand about her vision for the experience. The restaurant serves earth-to-table cuisine where the team uses the fields as the chef's pantry. The menu is a beautifully crafted tasting menu with optional wine or mocktail pairing. I opted for the mocktail pairing and my producer Christine went with the wine pairing. The experience and meal were absolute perfection. The dishes were flavorful and fresh and artistically plated. Chef Colby Janowitz and Pastry Chef Mykel Winterstine prepare the most thoughtful and unique dishes.
