Welcome to the Witmer&Quake Podcast! A hockey podcast hosted by two friends Mike Witmer and Jeff Quake! The duo talk anything dealing with hockey, mainly the Philadelphia Flyers, but also the NHL itself. You never know what road they may go down, or what long tangent they will discuss, but you'll get it from two very devoted fans of the sport, who are not experts, nor insiders and give you their opinions on the Flyers, NHL and hockey as a whole. So, come along and listen to two friends passion for hockey and their hometown team!

    Our 2024 NHL Trade Deadline Special

    Mike and Jeff are back again, with their annual trade deadline special. Starting it off, they recap the biggest trades over the past couple days, like Thomas Hertl going to the Vegas Golden Knights and Jake Guentzel to the Carolina Hurricanes. Later on, they talk about the moves the Philadelphia Flyers made. Trading Sean Walker to the Colorado Avalanche and adding Erik Johnson from the Buffalo Sabres. They also give Danny Briere a rating on his first trade deadline. Lastly, we give our winners/losers of the deadline. Come along and hear our thoughts on this years trade deadline!

    A Short Talk About Hockey

    After nearly a year, the guys are back with a hockey podcast! In this one, as part of our last Underachievers Podcast episode, the guys talk hockey. Starting it off, we share why we haven't talked hockey in nearly a year. We also discuss the surprise season the Philadelphia Flyers are having. The guys also discuss how they were wrong when it comes to John Tortorella's coaching, as it comes to the Flyers rebuilding. His past coaching with the Columbus Blue Jackets, and how it feels he's adjusted some of his coaching style. Lastly, the two give a short preview of the upcoming trade deadline.     The 2023 Stanley Cup Playoffs Have Begun!

    Mike and Jeff are back with another hockey podcast! In this one, the guys are taking a look at the 2023 Stanley Cup Playoffs. Starting it off, they recap the four series from last night. The guys then preview the games to come tonight. Lastly, they give their predictions on the playoffs as a whole, looking over their brackets to see who will be going to the Stanley Cup Finals.     Mike and Jeff are back again, after months off, from crying our sorrows over the Philadelphia Flyers. In this one, they're having another trade deadline special. Looking at some of the biggest trades that has happened over the last week. From the Patrick Kane trade to the New York Rangers to the John Klingberg going to the Minnesota Wild. We also take a look at the Flyers lack of moves during the deadline and if they think this is it with Chuck Fletcher. Come along and hear this seasons trade deadline special!

    Our 2022 NHL Draft Preview

    Mike and Jeff are back with another hockey podcast! In this one, we are previewing the 2022 NHL entry draft. Starting it off, we preview some of the top prospects who may go in the first five picks. We then look at the New Jersey Devils and what they could do with the 2nd overall pick. Followed by the Philadelphia Flyers at the 5th overall pick, and just what is the Flyers biggest need right now. The two then transition to a little fun segment where Mike asks Jeff what he would want if he were GM and trading away a top-5 pick. Finally, we conclude this preview talking about the differences between an actual entry draft for the NHL and a fantasy sports draft.     It’s Officially NHL Offseason Time

    Mike and Jeff are back with another hockey podcast! In this one, we're recapping the Stanley Cup Finals, our thoughts of the playoffs in general and more. We then talk about the offseason starting off, with the Los Angeles Kings trading with Minnesota Wild for Kevin Fiala. Later on, we take a look at a couple trade bait boards, top guys on these lists and who we think the Philadelphia Flyers should target. Finally, we talk about the Flyers injuries issues following them into the offseason, from an update to Ryan Ellis' injury to Joel Farabee's recent surgery.     How Important Are These Moves for the Flyers?

    Mike and Jeff are back again with another hockey podcast! On a rare Monday, they start off the episode talking about the first two games of the Stanley Cup Finals. We then go to the Philadelphia Flyers and their offseason. In particular, they discuss Travis Konecny and James van Riemsdyk trade value going into the 2022 offseason. We then talk just how important it is for Chuck Fletcher to get a Konecny trade right, not only for his own job security, but also the Flyers going forward.     An Update on the Stanley Cup Playoffs

    Mike and Jeff are back with another hockey podcast! In this one, we give you all a quick update on the 2nd round of the NHL Stanley Cup Playoffs. Starting it off, they discuss the St. Louis Blues and Colorado Avalanche series, the Nazem Kadri running into Jordan Bennington and the fallout from it. They then turn to the Florida Panthers and Tampa Bay Lightning series and whether it is a loss season or not for the Panthers. They then talk about the Colorado Avalanche and their chances at potentially winning it all. Finally, they discuss how lame they feel the 2nd round has been.     Mike and Jeff are back with another hockey podcast! In this weeks episode, we are doing a live reaction to the NHL's Draft Lottery. Starting the episode, right as the lottery was going to begin, the two first give their predictions of who will get first overall, and where the Philadelphia Flyers will end up. After the lottery picks come in, the two give their initial opinions of the final results and the New Jersey Devils getting another top 3 pick.     Mike and Jeff are back with another hockey podcast! In this one, we're mainly talking the Philadelphia Flyers. In particular, Claude Giroux getting traded to the Florida Panthers for Owen Tippett and draft picks.     Mike and Jeff are back with another hockey podcast! In this weeks episode, they are discussing Bobby Clarke's comments on Ron Hextall when he was the Philadelphia Flyers GM. Breaking it down into three sections; the fist of which being our reaction to Clarke's comments saying Hextall picking Nolan Patrick over Cale Makar. They then look at Ron Hextall's tenure as the Flyers GM with signings, trades and draft picks. They conclude the episode looking at the 2017 NHL Entry Draft and looking at other guys who may, or may not have been a better pick than Patrick. In this weeks episode, the two discuss Gary Bettman with his response in the wake of the Chicago Blackhawks covering up the sexual assault back in 2010. They answer the question of is it time to fire Gary Bettman and everyone else who was responsible for covering it up and not giving the right punishment for it.
