Training out of the San Diego Combat Academy, Juliana Miller is a part of one of the toughest teams on the planet. Miller is a talent in her own right as she was undefeated as an amateur and currently 1-0 as a pro. We talked to Miller about her missions to bring self defense to women and kids and her passion for fighting.

Two female pro title bouts are set for King of the Cage's Natural Instinct card in Lac du Flambeau, WI July 30th.One of Minnesota's best fighters Heather Bassett will look for her first world title as she takes on Nicco Montano for the vacant belt in the main event of the card.Aspiring fighter Chelsea Rae will be our co-hosting as we will talk to Bassett about preparing for the biggest match of her career. 

Currently at 4-1 as a pro, Jenny Silverio has been heating up the atomweight division.She will be looking for a 5th when she takes on atomweight star and wrestler Kyra Batara on Combates America April 25th in Los Angeles. A talented ainger-songwriter, she has been training across the country with a lot of up and coming talent.

With so many great bouts, it took several votes to wind it down to one.The winner of the bout will join us to accept her award. We will also announce the winner of the other 3 unannounced awards including Fighter of the Year.

For the WMMA Press Committee, it was hard to pick just one Inspiratinal Fighter of the Year. Both earned the honor for different reasons.One is a dedicated law enforcement officer who was on the frnt lines of one of the biggest riots in the country's history. Only weeks after it had settled, she went on to fight at Invcita. She not only keeps the street safe, but offers help to animals and people alike.The other has had the greaest cmeback in female fighting history. Opening her career at 1-11, she went on to go on a four fight win streak and has won six of her last eight.We will talk to one of the winners and annunce both.

Each year, the WMMA Press committee, made up of six journalists that cover the female divisions in MMA, pick their favorites of the year.We will be giving away two awards on the show. The first is Sponsor of the Year, which honors the business that helps support the female athletes throughut the year.The second is Amateur of the Year. A book just published takes a look at the expansion through a scientific and scholastic view.Dr. Alex Channon along with his colleague Dr. Christopher R. Matthews has complied research and have published "Global Perspectives on Women in Combat Sports: Women Warriors around the World". The book looks into why women are starting to be accepted in these sports, and the hurdles they are facing as the sports grow globally. Channon is a Doctor of Sports Sociology from the University of Greenwich and has researched the topic for several years, including publishing papers on women competing in the sports, and how it in itself has a psychological and societal impact.  In part two, we discuss marketing in female fight sports, how technology has helped expand acceptance of female fighting, the expansion of the sport globally, and why MMA seems to be leading the way in getting women accepted in combat sports across the board.

It's been a decade since women's boxing hit a ppv inside a ring. Mosley Productions has stepped up with a solid title match for their August 29th. We will talk to one of the best in the world, Maureen Shea, who looks to add the IBF World super bantamweight championship to her mantle. Shea (24-2) won her past 10 bouts, with half of her wins by TKO or KO. The current IBA super bantamweight champ helped Hillary Swank train for the movie “Million Dollar Baby” and was featured in the documentary “Fight Like a Girl”. 

Having a solid 6-3 amateur record, Texas's Jianna Denizard has decided it was time to turn pro.Before she takes on her first pro MMA fight, she will hit the boxing ring in September.Denizard is an accomplished striker with a 4-0 Muay Thai record and is an up ande coming prospect in one of the deepest divisions in MMA.We will talk to Denizard about turning pro and her successful amateur career.  

Ireland Moran already has three MMA fights under her belt and has won two at the age of 17. Her latest fight say her win at Fusion Foght League in Montana, which showed her maturity in the cage and talented striking.We will talk to Moran about her career so far and her aspirations for the future

Even though she isn't on the upcoming InvictaFC card in Vegas, Charmaine Tweet is staying busy.June 27th she will have a grappling superfight with fellow Canadian Amanda Kavik at the Slyvio Behring class in Winnepeg; and will take part in the Grapplers' Quest event during International Fight week.Tweet will also test her acting chops in the upcoming movie "Four Months Until Fight Day".We will talk to Tweet about her busy summer and the flood of featherweights coming into Invicta.

The world of Muay Thai has opened up to female competitiors worldwide and in some places are more popular than MMA.Prairie Rugilo, who has been a guest on this show, is someone looking to make her mark with a revolutionary gym "The Girl Fight". The all female gym helps develop talent, like DeAna, to feed their hunger for compeition. Matthew Kaplowitz, the editor and cheif of FightNerd.com, has started an Indie go-go campaign to get help document their story.We will talk to Kaplowitz about the documentry and growth of women's muay thai.

Multiple time world champion and current WBC champion Diana Prazak is one of the pioneers in modern women's boxing.The Australian has racked up 13 wins in her career, having won 13 straight after her pro debut.She will enter a new arena with Big Knockout Boxing this week as she takes on  Layla McCarter in the "Pit" which is unenclosed with no ropes or cage.We will talk to Prazak aboiut her career, taking on a new chgallenge, and the idea of fighters having to go before commisions over the age of 35.

England's Iman Barlow is one of the legends in the art of the eight limbs.Having trained since she was 2 and having her first fight in Thailand at age 8, Barlow is a second generation Muay Thai fighter who has literally lived the sport. The early training has led her to multiple world titles and wins against some of the top fighters on the planet.We continue our interview with Barlow about how Thailand has changed with the popularity of Muay Thai expaning to the Western World, her taking up Judo, and the future of the sport.

It's Internatrional Women's Day - a day we recgonize women who have broke barriers in gender equality and celebrate those who are making strides to break glass ceilings.Out guests will be Vanessa and Sabrina Borquez, who are the hosts of WMMA Jam Live and a contributer to Fresh Start Entertainment. We will be disucssing current topics in MMA and other combat sports and how they are carving out her own path in the world of MMA press. 

A ten year vet of MMA, Jan Finney has faced a who's who of the sport.Having gone on a four fight win streak, she soon took up fights with Cyborg Justino, Liz Carmouche, and Holly Holm before taking an extended break from the sport. She returns to the cage to take on Valentina Shevchenko at Legacy this Froday on AXS TV.We will catch up with Finney to talk about her return to MMA, and some war stories. 

Documentry filmmaker Jill Morley documented her journey into boxing and tells stories of the many female pugilists she encounters along the way in the award winning documentry "Fight Like a Girl". Morley’s story of abuse and depression is the main focus of the movie, which proves fighting is not only a physical game but a mental one as well. Each fighter including Morely must not only fight opponents and fatigue; they also must overcome doubt, heartbreak, and past traumas.Among them, a boxer looking to snap a losing streak (Kim Tomes), one on the rise in the sport but fighting ageism (Susan Merlucci), and an undefeated pro recovering from mental stumbling blocks as she seeks gold (Maureen Shea).We will talk to Morley about the film, and the reaction she has been getting from fans and fellow boxers.

Lynn Le is hoping to spark a revolution in women's combat sports.Her new fight gear line, Society Nine, is taking a new approach in developing training gear for female fighters. With many companies not comforming to the female form, Le has took it upon herself to design gloves, rashguards, and other products to help these athletes perform at their best, but be comforatbale as well. She also looks to bring in looks that are both stylish but not over done as many other companies try to do.We will talk to Le about her inspiration for her gear line and the observations she has been getting from female athletes who are looking for a better set of gear to train with 

WMMA Press Awards 2014 continue as we give out "Sponsor of the Year" and we will reveal the "Mighty Mia Hayes Inspirational Fighter Award".

The WMMA Press Awards 2014 has already had a great start and we will continue to give out awards this weekend.This time we will be giving away the "Flyweight iof the Year" awards, plus announce the "Headline of the Year" and Promotion of the Year" Awards.

The 2014 WMMA Press Awards is the longest running awards of it's type to recognize the women's MMA divisions.The comittee is made up of seven reporters that are experts in the WMMA community who cover the sport not only nationally but internationally. We have the honor of awarding this year's Amateur of the Year Award to Amada Lino, the first international fighter to win this honor. The South African went 6-0 in 2014 and won the first ever IMMAF featherweight tournament.Lino has talked to us from South Africa to accept the award.

The WMMA Press awards is the longest running awards for the women's division of MMA.A honor that is given on a deserving basis is the "Legacy Award" an honor that goes to an individiual who has helped shape and pioneer women's MMA. This year we will give that honor to Barry Meyer (posthumously) through his brother Jeff, who both helped run Tuff-n-uff MMA helping develop amateur mixed martial arts and develop stars such as Ronda Rousey.We will also talk to Jeff about the finals of the InvictaFC contract tournament and the outlook for the promotion in 2015.
