Overcome your fears and start that podcast, with Becca Ingersoll
What if no one listens. What if my friends turn against me? What if, what if, what if. As a podcaster I’ve had these thoughts, and I’d bet that you have probably had something similar. My guest today is Becca Ingersoll, she is the host of Finding Joy Through Life’s Trials, a podcast which she describes as a safe place for us to share our stories. She had those what if thoughts too, but you’re going to hear what Becca did to push past these and to get her podcast off paper and into our ears. We’re going to talk about being brave and sharing scary parts of life, about taking the leap when your head is full of what ifs and about Becca’s reading retreat. Becca is a former high school English teacher, a stay-at-home mum to twins who were born prematurely, one of whom then underwent treatment for leukaemia, and she’s also a keen crafter and reader. What I would do if I were starting all over again
Hey podcasters, what would you do differently if you were starting all over again? This is the topic of this week’s show. I’m going to go through what I would do differently, what I would keep the same and share what other podcasters would do. I asked in my free facebook group what other podcasters would have done differently. Thanks to Penny Fitzgerald from Penny For Your Shots and Mare, co-host of Connection Project 360, for contributing. So dear listener, if you already have a podcast, what would you do differently? You can join the conversation in my free facebook group, Women Who Podcast or you can email me at [email protected]. Cultivating a Community Off-Air with Carla Ward
One of the best things I did last year was fly from New Zealand all the way over to Perth in Western Australia for a podcast listener meetup. I’d met just a couple of other people who I knew would be there, but everyone else would be a new connection - including the people I was sharing an air bnb with. Was I worried? Not at all, in fact I was so excited to be meeting people who had the same interest as me. That trip, and the people I met, will stick with me for as long as I live. My guest today is Carla Ward, she is the host of the Everything ECE podcast and in this episode we’re going to talk about building a community off the air. I’m Alison Fraser, host of Women Who Podcast, the show for side-hustling women who are ambitious but time-limited. Meet the women who keep me accountable, AKA why accountability groups are amazing
Welcome back to another episode of Women Who Podcast. This is the podcast for side hustling women who were time limited, but ambitious, and who wants to have some podcasting in their life, whether that's guesting or as I like to promote, having your own podcast. This episode is a little different to the others. You're going to hear a call that was held between myself and three of my other podcasting friends. We get together every week in an accountability group. Every Thursday morning or my time we meet. And we thought it would be fun to record a podcast about each of us asking a question that kind of relates to our own podcast. You can get to hear the kinds of people who have a podcast. And if you haven't yet dipped your toe into podcasting yet, give you the courage and inspiration to do so. You might find another podcast that you would like to listen to. This episode features Robin Hackney host of Spandex & Wine. Penny Fitzgerald, host of Penny For Your Shots, and Becca Ingersoll, the host of Finding Joy Through Life's Trials. Links to shows: Spandex & Wine Penny For Your Shots Finding Joy Through Life's Trials Are you letting your mind monkeys get in the way of starting your podcast? Are you paralyzed by over analysis of all the steps you could be taking when there is an easier path for you? Are you stuck, but need someone to give you a gentle nudge to take action? I'm trialing a podcast accountability group because I have experienced for myself what you can achieve when you have others alongside you in the same situation. It's going to be small, so as not to overwhelm you. We'll meet weekly for a month, starting the week of April 8th to get you some wins. And as my time zones going to be changing soon. I'm going to try to make it work for everyone who wants it. This will be at a special beta price of $50. To secure your seat send an email to [email protected]

How to repurpose your podcast content with Emily Aborn
I bet if you asked your non-podcasting friends all they think you do is record and publish. By now you’ve probably realised there’s a bit more to it than that. I find this bit a piece of cake, the recording is the fun part, I enjoy the editing process and getting my podcast out into the world. But what I have found difficult was all the rest. The emails, social media, blog, all the other bits that help your content get seen and found by ideal listeners. And then I got chatting to Emily Aborn, host of Content With Character and She Built This. I asked Emily to come on to help us with repurposing our content so that it doesn’t take a million brain cells and can be done reasonably quickly. You’re going to hear a lot of suggestions, don’t worry about taking notes as they will be in my extended shownotes. How bilingual podcaster Ydaiber Orozco chose which language to use
“This podcast for me is about sharing stories of resiliency and stories of grit and creativity and hardness in purpose in the wake of darkness. And you experience that in any language. “I am someone who functions equally well in both languages and I want to not miss on a story because of a language barrier that I don't even have.” Our featured podcast host in this episode is Ydaiber Orozco, host of Rekindle Your Light. What Ydaiber says about Rekindle Your Light: Ever had those moments when life felt like it drop-kicked you into the depths of rock bottom? Well, I've been there too. Mikki Williden on how to get back on track after Christmas
“So often people don't feel great this time of year. They do let a lot of their habits go and feel guilty and ashamed and like they're not worth it and they've failed. “Whereas instead you can sort of feel empowered and confident in your food decisions and also not deprived, like an element of restriction. Trying to maintain certain habits will probably always be required because otherwise it would be a free for all and you'd be eating all day. “But it doesn't mean that you have to be deprived.” Our featured podcast host in this episode is Mikki Williden, host of Mikkipedia. What Mikki says about Mikkipedia: Mikkipedia is an exploration in all things health, well being, fitness, food and nutrition. I sit down with scientists, doctors, professors, practitioners and people who have a wealth of experience and have a conversation that takes a deep dive into their area of expertise. I love translating science into a language that people understand, so while some of the conversations will be pretty in-depth, you will come away with some practical tips that can be instigated into your everyday life. Adventures with Cat Caldwell Myers
“It’s true that there are going to be certain places in certain spaces where you're even more alive and more aligned with the people around you. The things you're talking about, the things you're prioritising, the things that are important to you are going to be different in a community that you're really aligned in versus it's a community where you're finding alignment, but you're having to work really hard to find it.” Our featured podcast host in this episode is Cat Caldwell Myers, host of The Adventure Paradox. What Cat says about The Adventure Paradox: This Podcast returns us to the wisdom of our great grandparents and ancestors who lived bravely and simply without all the extras of our modern day world. Our work and conversation stems around approaches to adventure, and the mundane, for both are the great paradox of life. Each guest and episode will bring you to a new level of understanding and ever closer to the adventure that is seeking you, inside your soul, regardless of your current circumstances. Many have forgotten that the adventure is NOW - wherever we are, whatever is happening, and whoever we do it with, as much as it is all that we have done and all that we will do. Mothers, Caretakers and Women who crave elevated relationships and love animals and nature will especially resonate with our message, community and offerings. Welcome! How to podcast and build a community with Allison and Julie from the Podlander Drunkcast
“We're a niche market, but the opportunity to connect with other people, was a really big draw. It certainly increased our support level, but also was just such a boon to us personally, and to a lot of other folks, to have this community of weirdos who wanted to joke around and do all kinds of wild things. “I'm so grateful to Patreon for making it easy, not only to offset the costs of making the show that we love doing so much, but also for making it so much easier to connect with the community. I don't know how else that would have come about. I'm so grateful for it.” Our featured podcast host in this episode are Allison Shoemaker and Julie Starbird, hosts of Podlander Drunkcast. What they say about Podlander Drunkcast: A slightly tipsy exploration of each episode of the STARZ series OUTLANDER This is a slightly longer episode than normal and one that I actually recorded a couple of months ago but due to my own episode time limit of 25 minutes I didn’t want to edit this one. Brandi Kelly is The Sober Bartender
“I think the most important thing that I needed to hear over and over and over, because I would hear it in the course that I took, but I needed to keep hearing it, is I am absolutely, you are absolutely qualified, like the world needs what you have. And even if there is another podcast on whatever it is that you want to talk about, no one can do it like you.” Our featured podcast host in this episode is Brandi Kelly, host of The Sober Bartender. What Brandi says about The Sober Bartender: The Sober Bartender is a journey through recovery. Not just from alcohol, but recovery from life. Every day we face circumstances outside our control. Women Who Podcast Trailer
Welcome to Women Who Podcast the podcast for women who have something to say. My name is Alison Fraser and this podcast is for women who are either already podcast hosts or are just starting out. Each episode is aimed at giving you the confidence boost you need to get started - and to keep going - as well as to create a sisterhood of women already doing it. I’m a firm believer in leaving the ladder down, in helping women take the shortcut to success so they can change even more lives. Women Who Podcast, and the podcasts that came before it, has always been about voices and helping them get heard. But after speaking to so many podcasters and hearing similar stories of having the courage to just start I know that Women Who Podcast can help even more. You can expect to hear interviews from women already podcasting but also other experts in their field who can help you and your podcast have an even bigger impact. As women we often have something to say, but not always the courage to say it. This is your time. This is your permission to use the voice you have to help others. So give Women Who Podcast a subscribe and if you want to join our sisterhood look us up on patreon.

Raising Athletes with Kirsten Jones
“I like to say competence builds confidence. So at first you don't have any confidence so you feel like an imposter because you’re new, you're a beginner, but the more reps you do, the more you feel strongly about it and the less bothered you are about it cutting out or whatever, you know, whatever thing might happen as it does. And the more you just kind of get on with it and let it go. “And then I feel like it kind of takes on a life of its own. And it's now really just fun.” Our featured podcast host in this episode is Kirsten Jones, co-host of #RaisingAthletes. What Kirsten Jones says about #RaisingAthletes: Sports Parenting podcast. Unlock Your Child's Full Potential with Billy Ivanova
“I have such an imposter syndrome about that, like I'm feeling like an imposter because I make a few mistakes from time to time. I have an accent. I'm taking action anyway. And I'm proving to myself that it doesn't matter if you have the goal and you're consistent.” Our featured podcast host in this episode is Billy Ivanova, host of Unlock Your Child’s Full Potential. Billy’s free summit is October 11. Boost Your Child’s IQ and EQ. Sign up here: subscribepage.io/QZ7bMB What Billy says about Unlock Your Child’s Full Potential: This is the Unlock Your Child’s Full Potential podcast and I am your host Billy. I am a mom of 3 lovely girls and I’m looking for answers. I am looking for ways to fill the gaps left by the school system and teach my kids the lessons that are going to prepare them for real life. I want to learn practical tips that I can put to practice so that I can raise capable and confident young people who are kind, caring and authentic and who bring value to the world. I know it’s a lot. But I think as parents we have the unique role of nurturing the potential of the special human beings entrusted to our care. We can’t expect school and the teachers to do everything and we don’t want to let the environment decide who our kids become. It's up to us to coach our children on how to be successful and fulfilled. That’s why I practice what I call intentional parenting. It all starts with creating a clear, compelling vision of what you and your family are all about and asking yourself questions like “what kind of strengths and abilities will our children need to have in order to be successful when they grow up?”. Every one of us will have a different vision, what’s important here is to have some kind of a plan. Because the window of opportunity to influence our kids' development is small and we better lay a good foundation early on. That’s my goal here. To talk to as many parents, educators, experts, you name it, and ask the questions, look for the universal principles, find as many tools as possible to be a better parent and give my kids a head start in life. If that resonates with you, join me every Wednesday and let’s inspire each other to create an environment where our children can blossom into the best versions of themselves.
