Morning Market Weather For Wednesday, July 16, 2025
WORLD WEATHER HIGHLIGHTS FOR JULY 16, 2025 Weather has not changed dramatically enough to seriously change world crop development potentials overnight; however, a little more ridge building over the U.S. Midwest for a little while late this weekend into next week brings a little heat and less rain and that has some of the market trade a little more interested The high pressure ridge does not stay over the Midwest for more than a few days, although it will be present long enough to induce much warmer temperatures and less rain which will firm the topsoil and induce a little moisture and heat stress to crops that have seen the lightest rainfall and the most limited soil moisture in recent weeks Most computer forecast models shift the high pressure ridge back to the west toward the end of this month bringing back some “cooler” conditions and inducing a little more shower and thunderstorm activity in key Midwestern crop areas The pattern looks very normal for summer and subsoil moisture is favorable enough to carry most crops through the period without too much difficulty, but it will be important that rain and cooling return as advertised to maintain crop integrity The change in U.S. weather will bring total predicted yields for corn and soybeans under a little more scrutiny; though corn is far enough advanced that the impact should be low as long as the high pressure ridge retreats to the west and stays out to the west as advertised The changing weather pattern over North America opens the door of opportunity for rain to fall across Canada’s Prairies late this weekend and briefly later next week and that could improve crop and field conditions for better canola, corn and soybean development The change will come a little late for some of the wheat and barley that has already been seriously stressed, but crops that have received some periodic rain will benefit greatly Drier and warmer weather will resume as the high pressure ridge shifts to the west in late July and early August Very little weather change of significance was noted in Europe, Asia, India, Australia or South America today relative to that of Tuesday except….. Australia’s forecast has a little more rain in Queensland and New South Wales than that advertised Tuesday morning Greater cooling in South America during the second week of the outlook brings cooler air back to northern and eastern Argentina, Uruguay, Paraguay and southern Brazil Some of this cold is overdone and there is not much threat of damaging cold expected for sugarcane, citrus or coffee areas in Brazil The temperature change does increase the rain potential in parts of southern Brazil briefly during mid- to late-week next week

WORLD WEATHER HIGHLIGHTS FOR JULY 7, 2025 Flooding rain in central Texas was horrific in urban and some minor agricultural areas, but the impact on nationwide corn and sorghum production should be minimal Tropical Storm Chantal’s heavy rain had no serious impact on crops in the eastern Carolinas or Virginia No other tropical cyclones are expected to threaten North America for at least the next week with the tropics calming down Drought continues serious in parts of Canada’s Prairies and that is not likely to change in this coming week with hot temperatures likely in west today and in central and eastern areas during mid-week Some opportunity for rain will evolve next week, although southern and eastern Manitoba is most favored S. weather is expected to remain very well mixed with timely rain and seasonable temperatures east of the Rocky Mountains Drought will remain in the U.S. Pacific Northwest Monsoonal rain in Mexico will continue over the next ten days, but its intensity is expected to slacken a bit as the tropics quiet down for a while East-central and southeastern China is trending much drier and that will linger for another week before some partial relief is possible Central and eastern Inner Mongolia and China’s Northeast Provinces received welcome rain during the past few days maintaining good crop conditions for areas near and north of the Yellow River and throughout the northeast Too much rain is expected in central India over the next week to ten days resulting in some flooding and at least a little potential for replanting of some summer crops Central, northern and eastern India will remain wet biased through the next ten days while the interior west-central and south stay drier than usual Thailand sugarcane, corn and rice areas will experience another week of restricted rain before rain chances improve Central and northwestern Sumatra, Indonesia still needs greater rain along with a few areas in Peninsular Malaysia Too much rain may fall from the Alps through Poland to parts of the Baltic States over the next ten days; flooding is possible Western and southern France, the U.K. and lower Danube River Basin will continue anomalously dry through the next ten days Western Europe will begin heating up again late this week and the warmer than usual conditions will last into next week while expanding to the east Russia’s Southern Region, western Kazakhstan and eastern Ukraine will benefit greatly from dry biased weather supporting good winter crop maturation and harvest progress Southern Australia received timely rain during the weekend and more is expected in the south which may improve soil conditions for winter crop establishment when warmer weather arrives in the spring Rain is likely in western wheat areas of Argentina which should induce improved soil moisture for better crop establishment Western Luzon Island experienced some flooding rain during the weekend from Typhoon Danas and more heavy rain will fall this week Typhoon Danas also produced heavy rain in western Taiwan Sunday and will turn into southeastern China this week producing some heavy rain The typhoon is small and its impact on agriculture is not likely to be tremendous

Morning Market Weather For Thursday, July 3, 2025
WORLD WEATHER HIGHLIGHTS FOR JULY 3, 2025 Portions of the U.S. southeastern states will trend drier than usual over the next ten days A tropical or subtropical disturbance is expected to evolve off the lower east coast of the United States late this weekend and/or next week The system will be far enough from the coast to limit its potential influence to coastal areas in the Carolinas where some heavy rain is possible, but it the interior southeastern states will trend drier because of this system Canada’s Prairies are still expected to be drier than usual during the next ten days except possibly in far western Alberta and southeastern Manitoba where some timely rainfall is possible Showers elsewhere will be too brief and light to offer much change to the limited soil moisture and crop stress that is dominating many areas across Saskatchewan and northern Manitoba S. crop weather east of the Rocky Mountains is still advertised to be plenty moist over the next ten days supporting most crop needs Temperatures will be seasonable as well S.
