The Bummer of Job Suck & What To Do About It
How's work?I've asked that question a lot over the last few years. And you know what strikes me? The number of people who answered with anything better than "fine" is depressingly small. So much so that I named the feeling these folks were feeling: job suck.Job suck is a subjective experience of discontent arising from a job, or facets of a job, that fail to meet psychological needs, expectations, or values. The biggest problem with a discontented workforce, in my view, isn't the harm it does to an organization's productivity, but the resulting waste in human potential that comes with just getting by, and the unrelenting toll that takes on our spirits. So I recorded an introductory podcast to explain it. Listen and then explore the get-to-it guide at worthywork.work to begin fortifying yourself against it."The Five Fatal Habits" by Geoff Marlow (pdf) Hosted on Acast.
