Mike and Tyler return with another round of I Still Can't Believe It's Not Star Trek, this time talking about Project Hail Mary, the recent film based on the novel by Andy Weir. Tyler and Mike give their thoughts on both the book and the movie as they still can't believe it's not Star Trek.

This week on Yesterday’s Star Trek, Mike and Tyler kick off Season 3 of Deep Space Nine with Episodes 1–3, and the show wastes absolutely no time shifting gears. In “The Search, Parts 1 & 2,” the Federation rolls out the Defiant, Sisko goes founder-hunting in the Gamma Quadrant, and DS9 dives headfirst into paranoia, power plays, and the uncomfortable reality that peace might already be lost. Then, just when things couldn’t get heavier, “The House of Quark” swerves hard into Klingon politics, honor culture, and one deeply inconvenient marriage. 

Tyler and Mike kick off For Your Consideration by revisiting Star Trek: The Motion Picture, slow, strange, and undeniably ambitious. This episode introduces a long-term project: reviewing all 13 Star Trek films and nominating them in original, Trek-specific award categories to determine which entries truly deserve top honours in the franchise canon. For our final episode of 2025, we answer fan questions we left behind, mainly about our music bracket episode. We also discuss what 2026 will bring as we look at finishing Deep Space Nine for Tyler, a new trek with Starfleet Academy and a fourth season of Strange New Worlds...we reflect, look forward and discuss some new and old Star Trek. 

For a festive special, Tyler and Mike discuss how they would convince certain people that select Star Trek films are Christmas movies! 

This week, Tyler and Mike put all the openings of every Star Trek series into a bracket and find out which one comes out as champion! Thanks to some cast feedback, we decided to include all the Star Trek series as we go from 11 to 1! 

We're back with another edition of I Can't Believe It's Not Star Trek! Tyler and Mike discuss The Martian, based on the novel by Andy Weir, reviewing the movie and discussing the Star Trek elements within the film. 

This week, Mike and Tyler close out Season 2 of Deep Space Nine with Episodes 25–26, and the stakes are higher than ever. In "Tribunal," Chief O’Brien finds himself swept into the cold machinery of the Cardassian justice system… where guilt is just a formality. Then, in "The Jem’Hadar," a quiet camping trip spirals into a dangerous first encounter with the Dominion’s ruthless soldiers. As the quadrant shifts into a new era of conflict, the guys break down courtroom dread, Quark’s survival instincts, and just how looming the Dominion threat really feels. This week, Mike and Tyler head back to the darker corners of the Bajoran wormhole for a dive into Deep Space Nine Season 2, Episodes 22–24. From Garak’s mysterious brain implant in “The Wire,” to a hostile trip into the mirror universe in “Crossover,” and finally the political intrigue surrounding the election of a new Kai in “The Collaborator,” the station is not short on drama. The guys unpack conspiracies, alternate realities, and just how many secrets one tailor can reasonably keep. 

This week, Mike and Tyler beam back to their TLDR run of The Original Series but this time, they’re not alone. Armed with fan reactions, hot takes, and a whole new list of “How did we miss that?” episode suggestions, the guys put together their definitive dream season of TOS. From cult classics to deep cuts, join us as we rewrite Starfleet history one wild debate at a time.

We’re back on Deep Space Nine, and the stakes are getting personal. This week we look at Season 2, episodes 19–21, “Blood Oath,” “The Maquis, Part I,” and “The Maquis, Part II.” From Jadzia Dax’s fierce loyalty to a Klingon pact of vengeance, to Sisko’s moral balancing act in the face of Federation rebellion, these episodes test where duty ends and conviction begins. Join us as we talk honor, politics, and the messy heart of the DMZ.

It's time for TLDR (Too Long, Didn't Read) Star Trek: The Original Series. Mike and Tyler attempt the impossible: building the perfect season of Star Trek: The Original Series. With only ten slots to fill, they debate which adventures make the cut,  from iconic classics to underrated gems, in their quest to create the definitive TOS viewing experience for fans old and new. 

Tyler and Mike press on through Season 2 of Deep Space Nine with a trio of fascinating episodes. In Shadowplay, Odo and Dax uncover a village where residents keep disappearing without a trace. Playing God challenges Dax to mentor a skeptical Trill initiate while facing the discovery of a fragile new universe. And in Profit and Loss, Quark’s past collides with Cardassian politics when the love of his life arrives on the run from the military.

Tyler and Mike continue their journey through Deep Space Nine with a trio of standout Season 2 episodes. In Armageddon Game, Bashir and O’Brien find themselves caught in a deadly conflict with no way out. Whispers throws O’Brien into a paranoid nightmare when everyone he knows seems to turn against him. And in Paradise, Sisko and O’Brien face the harsh philosophy of life without technology. 

It's time to finish Strange New Worlds, finally. Tyler and Mike review the season 3 finale "New Life and New Civilizations". We discuss the entire 3 season and where our podcast will go next as we leave new Trek...for now.

Now that we have a Season 3 release date for Strange New Worlds, we continue our first watch through of season 2, We give you our thoughts on Tomorrow and Tomorrow and Tomorrow as well as Among the Lotus Eaters. 

We are on to season 2 of Strange New Worlds! We discuss the first two episodes and some obvious comparables to classic trek. We review The Broken Circle and Ad Astra Per Aspera as we continue our quest to finish our first watch of Strange New Worlds before the new season begins. 

We move on to Season 2 of Deep Space Nine this week as Tyler and Mike discuss the first 5 episodes! Tyler is going through his first watch of DS9 to rank the 5 episodes and we discuss the political unrest in Bajor on the eve of elections in Canada. 

We introduce a new feature to our podcast with an episode dedicated to shows, movies and more that are similar to Star Trek and that we love! This week, Tyler and Mike discuss Galaxy Quest from 1999!
