Self-awarness is 50% of life
Let's be real. 90% of people have no self-awareness. They waste half of their life not learning the lessons given to them and displace the pain from the void created by a lack of self-connection. They pin the blame on external factors and people, sending more pain into the world. How does the world heal? The first step is easy. Just ask yourself, "why?"

8. The beauty in not fitting in
Why can't you ever find someone who gets you completely? Who has all of the same interests, mindsets, and goals? Maybe you grew up jumping from friend group to friend group because one never stuck and you're still searching for people more like you. Well, I've realized there's beauty in that. If you can't find people like you, then find people you want to be like.

7. Nothing matters
When you lose something meaningful in your life, a person, an identity, or your innocence, you realize nothing really matters anymore. The small things in life, like materialism or stress, don't compare to the meaning you find in purpose and alignment with yourself. You stop caring about excessive things like your appearance or other people's perception of you, and you resort back to your basic, intangible needs. Your desire to feel good & have purpose in your life.

A 19 year-old's guide to living
Why are we always chasing our idealized version of the future? Why is it we have to imagine our happiness when we reach our goal to get us out of a rut in the present moment? You're single, so start dreaming again
Sometimes when you're in a relationship, you forget that you used to desire more. The hopeless romantic ideas about love you grew up watching in movies and reading in books fades the moment you fall for someone--even if they don't meet all of your expectations about love. Then when you get your heartbroken, you feel like you're going crazy and are never going to find someone like them again. But remember how you used dream about love? Remember having ideas of what love is supposed to look like? You get to do that again. Being single means you're allowed to want more & more is yet to come...and that is EXCITING!

Your boundaries are valid. PROTECT THEM.
Boundaries are one of the few things in life that will never change. They make up who we are because they stem from our core values and experiences in life. But with people we love we tend to bend our boundaries. And when we meet the wrong people they will invalidate your boundaries and turn you against yourself without you even realizing it (gaslighting). From relationship boundaries to friendship boundaries, you're not crazy for having them.

Be selfish with your energy
STOP helping people. I mean it. You are wasting too much energy on helping other people fix their issues when you could be fixing your own. People will call you selfish, okay, fine. Be selfish with your energy. It's the only way to start getting closer to living the life you want to live.

Your intuition is right about that person
If you have an eerie, gut-wrenching feeling about a person and their true intentions, you're probably right. I wish when I told my friends how I thought my ex-best friend was making moves on my ex-boyfriend, they would've told me to listen to my gut and get the hell out. It would have saved a lot of heartache. But since no one ever told me to stand strong in my intuitive feelings (and often downplayed my instincts), I'm here to tell you to listen to yourself at all costs. From one intuitively aligned person to another, BELIEVE YOUR INSTINCTS, NO MATTER WHO ELSE DOWNPLAYS IT.
