This podcast series accompanies the final preparations for the Archdiocesan Congress on Youth, Family and Faith in the Archdiocese of Armagh in March 2026. Through prayer, listening and consultation across parishes, schools and communities, a number of priorities and proposals have emerged to help renew the life and mission of the Church. Each episode introduces one of these priorities, exploring themes such as belonging, youth and family ministry, prayer, faith formation, liturgy and digital evangelisation. These reflections invite listeners to prepare prayerfully for the Congress and to consider how we can share the Gospel with young people and families today as we journey toward the 1600th anniversary of the arrival of Saint Patrick in Ireland in 2032.This Podcast follows on from the previous podcast that explored the priorities articulated in the Archdiocese of Armagh.

Episode 4: The Pastoral Area as a Key Structure for the Future
This episode explores the role of the pastoral area as an important structure for the future mission of the Church in the Archdiocese of Armagh.Pastoral areas bring neighbouring parishes together to collaborate in ministry, share resources and develop initiatives such as youth ministry, faith formation and family support. As the number of clergy declines, this model encourages stronger cooperation and shared leadership between clergy and lay people.The episode reflects on how pastoral areas and active Parish Pastoral Councils can help strengthen collaboration and support the Church’s mission in the years ahead.

Episode 1: The Importance of Youth and Family Ministry
In this episode we explore the reflection of Bishop Michael Router, Auxiliary Bishop of Armagh, on the importance of youth and family ministry for the future of the Church. Bishop Router highlights the growing disconnect between many young people, families and parish life, noting that the challenge is often not a loss of faith but a loss of belonging. With over 85,000 young people aged 14–35 in the Archdiocese, he stresses the urgent need for renewed engagement, shared responsibility between clergy and laity, and greater investment in youth and family ministry.This episode reflects on why accompanying young people and families is central to the renewal and mission of the Church today.

This introductory episode presents the purpose of the podcast series preparing for the Archdiocesan Congress on Youth, Family and Faith taking place from 20–22 March 2026.
