The Kingdom of God Is Within You by Leo Tolstoy
When Leo Tolstoy's War and Peace was published in 1869, his genius was immediately recognized by people all over the world. In the later part of Leo Tolstoy's life, however, he began to share his deepest thoughts about Christianity in his writing. His definition of Christianity was not the same as the priests and bishops of the Russian Orthodox Church where there was so much pomp and pageantry. Tolstoy could care less for all that ceremony. He was a radical follower of Jesus Christ's teachings, particularly as found in the Sermon on the Mount (including Christ's controversial admonitions to "resist not evil," to "love your enemies" and to "turn the other cheek.") This book you are about to hear shares Tolstoy's thoughtful commentary on where TRUE Christianity lies and why and how the Church has gotten Christ's teaching so wrong. Special thanks to JewelBeat.com for the theme song, "Russia, Russia, My Love." The Kingdom of God is Within You by Leo Tolstoy is in the public domain. The coverart is by Russian portrait artist Ivan Kramskoy. Produced and narrated by Vic Zarley

Next Christmas in Girouette by Michael Welch
Next Christmas in Girouette is a full-length novel for people of all ages—nine to ninety-nine—who want to share a heart-warming literary adventure at Christmastime. Set on the eastern slopes of the Rocky Mountains in Montana, this is the story of a brother and sister—Autry and Oxana Quinn—who find themselves stranded in a Girouette, a virtual ghost town, from Thanksgiving through Christmas when their father is taken ill. Their grandfather, a Marine Captain long retired, plus an eccentric old café owner, a Blackfeet Indian horse trader who was once the town’s mayor, a couple who published the local newspaper and an ancient deaf-mute trapper are the only remaining inhabitants of Girouette. These self-styled “diehards” all seem to have one thing in common. Thanks to a mysterious event 60 years earlier, they still believe in Santa Claus. Next Christmas in Girouette features something for everyone: carefree cowboys who race their horses over snow-covered country roads, a team of wolves trained by a mountain man to pull a sleigh, a stroll that nearly turns tragic on a treacherous buffalo jump, a serialized newspaper story titled “The Adventures of Rocky Mountain Santa,” a desperate attempt to escape from an abandoned copper mine, a night-time journey through the mountains on a frozen river and finally the miracle that delivers wayfaring strangers to Girouette during a white-out on Christmas Eve. The book revels in the solitary beauty of winter in Big Sky Country, the enduring wisdom of the elderly citizens of Girouette, the excitement of frontier history coming to life, the inspiration of a family healing itself and the magic of an old-fashioned western Christmas. Read Next Christmas in Girouette with your family this year, and you’ll want to revisit it for years and years to come at holiday time.

Song Gifts from the Holy Spirit by Vic Zarley and Eva Zarley
My wife, Eva and I, Vic Zarley, are songwriters. We each had written many songs before we met each other and continued to write songs once we were married. After our marriage, we found that often God would use each of us to write a song together. I would be working with the guitar on some interesting chord progression while humming, thinking, "Where did this come from?" and Eva would stop me and say, "I've got lyrics. Play what you were doing again." Often the lyrics are practically dictated to her by the Holy Spirit, coming faster than she can write. And then, to God's glory, a song would be birthed. Truly a gift from the Holy Spirit. This Podiobook is a bit different from any of the others I've produced as it incorporates three of our songs into each episode. You will hear how each song got its life, what each song means to us, and, when applicable, the life lessons present in the lyrics. These songs were written by myself (Vic Zarley) and/or Eva Zarley. Most of these songs have been uploaded to Jamendo.com and you can get to our material that way as well by searching for Vic and Eva Zarley. Every song is available through Creative Commons licensing and can be downloaded and enjoyed at no charge. We pray that you are blessed as you journey through these 12 episodes exploring 36 of our songs, as we share their stories and related inspirations then the actual songs themselves. The theme song is by Vic Zarley. The coverart is by my brother, Karlan Zarley, with much appreciation! Produced and narrated by Vic Zarley.

The Old Man by Beverly Carradine
A Christian Holiness Collection presentation. Beverly Carradine was a holiness preacher in the early part of the 20th century. The title, "The Old Man" refers to a remnant of sin that dwells in the soul, even after regeneration. A reference to the phrase, "The Old Man" in this context can be found in the King James Version of the Bible at Colossians 3, Ephesians 4 and Romans 6. There is something, found symbolically in just about every horror story every told, that seems embedded in our souls--a Mr. Hyde that Dr. Jekyll cannot control. In the days of Beverly Carradine's popularity, many Christian leaders preached that regeneration alone eliminated The Old Man but Carradine insisted that only entire sanctification, the 2nd blessing, a gift from Jesus Christ, through the Holy Spirit, can wipe clean the slate and offer perfect freedom and a peace heretofore unknown. Produced and narrated by Vic Zarley. Special thanks to LightByDesign.net, Northwest Nazarene University, and the Wesley Center online for their invaluable assistance in the production of these audiobooks. Special thanks to Kevin Macleod for the theme music, "This Old Man." And special thanks to Flickr.com for their Creative Commons collection of pictures. Of Such Is The Kingdom, A Novel of Biblical Times by James M. Becher
Step back into New Testament times--to Ancient Jerusalem at the time of Christ and of the historical Roman Empire, and ask: What could a cynical, non-conformist dry-goods salesman, a disgruntled blacksmith, and a musing mendicant all have in common? The answer: Down deep, they all seek something better. But will they find true fulfillment they are seeking? The non-conformist, Manaheem, Herod’s foster brother, is hired by Herod to foment an insurrection against Pontius Pilate, whom he distrusts. Manaheem recruits the blacksmith, Barabbas, to be the insurrection leader, to the dismay of Barabbas' Godly but fearful wife (when he finally tells her). The mendicant, an unfortunate but pensive young man named Timotheus, joins with an older beggar completely unsympathetic to his musings. Pontius Pilate sees himself as a weak ruler, but his wife pushes him to be stronger and to even take over Herod’s territory. After another visit to Barabbas, Manaheem re-unites with his former wife, Claressa. The Little Dragons by Rowan Starsmith
Once the People of the Land had an Agreement with the Dragons, negotiated by the Order of Dragon Priestesses through their Familiars, the Little Dragons. Everything changed, however, when the King’s People came. The Kings knew only the way of the sword. They carved the land into warring Realms and tried to kill off the Dragons, including their smaller cousins. They saw the Priestesses dedicated to the Dragons’ care as evil and murdered them as well. Angry and hungry, the Dragons struck back. Now both peoples live their lives at night, by the light of lanterns and torches. In the daytime, they must shut themselves and their livestock into their homes, be it a tiny cabin in the wilderness of the Northlands or a Castle in the midst of one of the King’s capital cities. Both peoples search for a solution in their own way. The Healing Order, which barely survived the Kings’ conquest and the terror of the Dragons, investigates the old rumours claiming that the Healers who sheltered fleeing Dragon Priestesses recorded their secrets. A young generation of Princes, armed with new weapons, wants their turn to make war upon the Dragons. An aging King schemes to consolidate his power while struggling with his secret fear that warring with the Dragons is just a way to give them a feast of dead soldiers. Meanwhile his Queen sends their daughter to an elderly Healer, sure the girl is pregnant despite her insistence that she has never lain with a man. A young woman who desperately wants to apprentice as a Healer is forced to become her Teacher’s servant. A newly dedicated Healer worries about who will care for his beloved elderly Teacher when his Apprenticeship ends, and a pair of young servants in the Women’s Retreat House follow their contrasting dreams. The fates of these very different people entwine in surprising ways as, one after another, they are drawn into the search for the Little Dragons.

Remarkable Incidents and Modern Miracles Through Prayer and Faith by G. C. Bevington
A Christian Holiness Collection presentation.G.C. Bevington was a holiness Methodist itinerant preacher who was based in Kentucky but traveled far and wide across America in the 1920s. His penchant for praying for EVERYTHING made for this series of incredible testimonies. If these testimonies are true (and I can’t think of why a person would make this stuff up), then Christians are not spending enough time praying. The reason Bevington had so many breakthroughs and answered prayers, as found in this book, is because he took the Bible at its word that we are to “knock and keep on knocking, seek and keep on seeking” until God comes through (because, as Bevington’s testimony attests, amazingly God will come through with strong, persistent prayer).Story after story confirms this. Bevington’s many hours (at times, many days) of prayer and fasting, were quite pragmatic and dramatic in obtaining a breakthrough in a problem. Yes, Divine intervention was quite the norm when it came to Bevington and his deep pleadings and petitioning to the Lord.May this book be a blessing to you!Produced and narrated by Vic Zarley. Candy from Strangers by Mark Coggins
Caroline Stockwell has a secret: she and her best friend Monica are "cam girls."Soliciting cash donations and gifts via Amazon.com wish lists from anonymous admirers, the young women have put up a web site featuring still photographs, video and blogs to help pay their way through art college. But when Caroline goes missing and her mother Ellen engages jazz bass-playing PI August Riordan to find her, Riordan discovers her secret and it appears to everyone that someone she met through the Internet is responsible for her disappearance.Set against the real-world backdrop of Internet predators using social networking sites like Facebook to find and ensnare their victims, CANDY FROM STRANGERS is the first novel to explore the phenomenon of teenagers and young adults displaying themselves online in exchange for material favors—often without their parents' knowledge—which some are calling the newest form of prostitution."Coggins recreates the private eye novel from scratch, breathing new life into it, standing every cliche of the genre on its ear. In turn fall-down funny, then dark and brooding, [it] ends up being a sly examination of all that's wrong—and right—with today's youth-driven society ... [it’s] a hell of a read."—Joe Gores, author of SPADE AND ARCHER"I've been waiting a long time for a fresh look at the private eye story. Mark Coggins has delivered it here ... It’s original, its smart and it was good to the last page."—Michael Connelly, #1 New York Times bestselling author"Yes, [this] is a fun, enjoyable, droll and snappy page-turner—but it’s more than that, too. This little gem of a book has a very human heart, revealing a keen understanding not just of how and why young girls go missing, but how and why all of us keep missing each other."—David Corbett, author of BLOOD OF PARADISE"[A] gripping ... hard-boiled exploit... Riordan's street smarts and witty asides will make him a familiar—and welcome—figure to fans of Robert Parker's Boston PI, Spenser."—Publishers Weekly"This third outing for Coggins's private investigator August Riordan proves him a worthy successor to the iconic Sam Spade... [A] volume that fits comfortably alongside those of Hammett and Chandler. Heartily recommended."—Library Journal"A mystery that puts on paper the problems modern society has with a need for instant gratification and a social structure more and more based on computer screens and keyboards. Coggins makes human and real what is to many just a story in the news. And he does it with humor, skill and depth."—Crimespree Magazine"Crackling and whip smart ... Coggins' novel reincarnates the heady excesses of earlier chroniclers of debauchery in the Golden State, such as Roger L. Simon and Arthur Lyons."—Mystery Scene Magazine
