In the period, the national index changed -0.2%. The biggest declines occurred in Amazonas (-3.5%), Ceará (-2.5%) and Rio de Janeiro (-2.2%). The biggest increases were in Mato Grosso (14.6%), Santa Catarina (5.0%) and Pará (3.5%). According to the research manager, Bernardo Almeida, Rio de Janeiro had the greatest influence on the national result, with a drop after accumulating a gain of 1.5% in three months of positive results. “This decline is attributed to the negative impact of the oil derivatives, metallurgy and pharmaceutical industries. Amazonas is the second biggest negative influence, mainly due to the drop in the beverage sector. Bahia had the third largest weight thanks to the low performance of the pulp and other chemical products sector”, he explained. The fall in Bahia came after two months of high, when it accumulated a gain of 5.4%.
