PODPARLEY TRUST CENTER

Discovery and Ranking Methodology

PodParley combines public podcast-feed metadata with derived search and discovery signals.

Catalog ingestion

Podcast and episode facts originate primarily from publisher RSS feeds and podcast-directory metadata. Feeds can contain mistakes or become unavailable, so timestamps and counts may lag the publisher's current state.

Search and ranking

Search considers titles, descriptions, categories, episode metadata, and available transcripts. Trending and recommendation modules use recency, activity, and catalog-quality signals; they are automated discovery aids, not editorial endorsements.

Generated material

Some summaries, topic labels, FAQs, and collection introductions may be generated or assisted by software. We quality-gate generated landing pages before allowing indexing and distinguish publisher text from PodParley-derived material where it appears.

Freshness

Different sources refresh on different schedules. A page's publisher and publication fields should be treated as source metadata, while PodParley collection ordering reflects the latest successfully processed snapshot.
