Okay, so are we gonna go for this like yeah, let's just let's just chat all right Job it up. It's been a little while are we just gonna ditch the intro and just go and just go with more like All the other podcasts that are really sentence. Yeah. Yeah, yeah, it's just like it.

This is a New Year's edition New Year's edition new year new year new format new everything Cool. Well, I guess the the question is is what your home is bigger better? So I mean I have opinion on it. I don't know how you guys feel I do feel in certain circumstances bigger is better but I guess it also depends on what exactly we're talking about are we talking about penis eyes or we talking about Technology and different devices.

Well, I don't know about you know you guys but like I don't think like the penis I think doesn't matter to me too much, you know, I mean it might matter to my wife, but I don't I could care less Yeah, I think of another group Adam there. I think the physics of it is more important Gross physics, okay, how much force does it take no it's all about the angle of inclination I Would a good start, you know, well I guess kind of the reason for the topic is this is something that kind of sparked my interest because you know I just upgraded or graduated to a big boy phone So I'm in the you remember the turn that was going a couple years back the faplet size Oh, so they're bigger than 4.7 inches or something like that or what right? I think so something like that Which I think before the bigger phone started coming out It was like only the Asian markets that really joined that club and it spread our direction the Americas joined the club The Americas joined yeah, well, that's because they only use one computer But anyway, so what why did you do a big boy phone? You know, I I think it was time, you know when the larger phones came out I think I was like most people who said oh, you know, this is way too big There's no reason why I would want to phone that large But as I kind of started thinking about it and being more exposed to it I mean we say that I think because we still look at smartphones as just a phone So we think about oh it looks ridiculous holding it up against my face, but in reality, we don't use phones like that anymore We use them like portable computers in our pocket So the extra screen size now that I'm used to it makes sense It makes sense for me to be able to be more productive typing and and viewing and resizing and editing Does it fit in your pocket?

It does in my pocket Yeah, I think totally fits in my pocket in fact. I sit on that thing So you got a big way phone to you Lou? Yeah, during the big boy club from day one I wasn't really afraid of it and I have to say the thing that surprised me the most Is when it comes to big way phones and big boy tablets is that they tend to you tend to adjust very quickly I find that within usually a couple weeks I'm holding a In-vere ear phone and it's not working as well or I don't like it and it's too small I'm ready to go back to my phone or my tablet Yeah, so right now we're still talking, you know like big big-sized phones right fabulous or whatever you call them So you guys had smaller phones before this I'm assuming obviously I did it wasn't much smaller But it wasn't it wasn't what you considered a fablet size. So why did you upgrade?

You know it was I think I got to a point where in Don't get me wrong I enjoyed my previous phone. It did everything I needed to and it did it very efficiently but You know the larger phones now just have more to offer I like the idea of being able to view more on my phone screen than I have you know than I ever had before so That makes sense. I guess I like to say oh especially with photos and videos. Oh so much better so much better I will say that there's nothing like watching video on a a tablet phone It's so much better than watching on like the tiny little screens that we used to and I mean I'm the only one who hasn't said if I have a fadlet or not, but I definitely joined the big-boy club And my most kind of the same reason is like you know They've been around for a while and it wasn't actually until I used one for like a good two weeks before I actually realized it was going to be a Good decision So I was lucky enough to at least be enough for this more I could just borrow some ones for two weeks and then use it You know and once I figured out where I could put it because I couldn't put in my pocket because you know skinny boy skinny jeans thing here Once I forget like how I could make that a part of you know my wardrobe so to speak It was awesome because I mean yeah, you just end up doing so much more on it You know you like your own use I didn't be getting like oh, you know these are just be phones That's all I did now they're multi-function devices and their computers You know they do all sorts of stuff and I found myself you know actually doing more and more on it because it was So much bigger and so much easier to manipulate and so much a nicer experience to mess around with right I think when we switched from some smaller phones to the larger phones What really changed for me was it it turned from more of a consumption device to a creation device And that's what's really altered it for me is the ability to create new content on my phone Right yeah, like making movies or editing movies or editing photos and stuff like that.

Oh geez so much better Oh, yeah, you know and then also just kind of the The multiple the multitasking along with it, you know switching between creating something and then maybe creating an email or Text messaging or being able to view multi-me to just all that so it makes more sense with a larger screen Yeah, definitely does You mentioned it looked funny or general that he said looked funny I mean now those since I've had my my big voice phone for like, you know, I think it's like a couple months now, right? And now when I hold a quote unquote like normal size phone They just feel so tiny and I like I look ridiculous holding it or holding that it's not like what is this? What is this thing right you almost feel bad for the person that owns it? Yeah, right like you look at them funny like wow really?

I'm sorry, you know, it's funny because I kind of started observing that with all of people I guess the people that haven't upgraded yet to the big boy phones, you know They don't want to join the big boy club yet And a lot of them are kind of in the same boat that I was they say oh I don't need anything that big or you know Blah blah blah blah and when it really comes down to is that it's our human nature to adapt yes It's gonna feel awkward because you're not used to something that large But once you start using it once you notice that it does everything you need it to the size becomes irrelevant You just adapt to the size well not necessarily I mean there has to be a benefit, you know, otherwise, you know, you just reject it You say like no, this is just as bad as I thought would be But if there's a benefit like you're saying right like oh, yeah Well, this is now much easier for me to do these things or it's much nicer It's a much more pleasant experience, you know, you start seeing the pros and they're still cons, right? I mean like it's bigger. It's heavier. It's you know tougher to fit into skinny jeans whatever it is Those are all cons but you outweigh those and I think yeah once you start using it It's it was just for me, you know, personally, yeah, I was a no-brainer I was like, well, what have I been doing all this time because I always used to be like the one saying I don't want to have to carry something that big But then I started using it and I got to use it for a couple weeks I was like wow, what have I been doing with my life and why didn't I do this in there?

I think it's important to point out too that it really can be dependent on what you're doing with your device Because there are a lot of people that still use a smartphone for basic tasks Like maybe email and phone calls and they don't go beyond that But if you're somebody who does venture to creation and you know step out a little bit or are willing to research a Problem or something you run into to find a solution such as an app or something Then the big way phone may be the right phone for you because you're gonna be someone who's going to be willing to spend time on the phone To really make it sort of the center of your electronic life Yeah, I think that really makes sense because we are as a society spending more time on our phones and makes it easier a Better viewing experience by having more stream real estate So you can be even rooted in the theater when your phone goes off and you go to answer it because there's just that much more screen lighting up in some of my face in the middle of Star Wars Well, right because how are you gonna tell people, you know, you have to social network to people that you are in the Movie so that they know where you are because we got to tell everyone on the planet what we're doing in every moment of our day Apparently people can't figure out that there's a do not disturb or like a silent function on most phones I don't want to go to the other ramp, but dear Lord. It is really the entire thing I was so happy that I got here and now in two seconds you've ruined my entire experience Thank you person sitting to rose in front of me. I maybe totally you know Someone who doesn't go to the movies very often, but I cannot recall the last time I went to the movies and someone pulled it out pulled the phone out You know, pulled something out in front of me that was an electronic device at the screen was visible Is this happening? If I had someone pulled out an electronic device in front of you Yes, I figured I should clarify Well, no, what's the last time you went to the movies though?

I mean like you don't go to movies very often. Yeah, I go to the movies probably three or four times a year Okay, come on three to four times a year. Okay. How many times I probably go at least once a month now.

Yeah, same here So your your probability if you want to get into the numbers here is way lower So okay, so back to the whole thing, right? I mean without pulling things out in theaters and you know giant screens or whatever we're talking is bigger better So is a bigger screen on a phone better? The general consensus on this is yes. Yes.

Yes I also really like kind of what what Lou was talking about where he said it's it makes sense for when you're actually using your Phone for creating, you know, it's not just viewing. It's not just receiving information We're using it to edit and create which which makes sense so my next question is because I agree I think you know we're all kind of agreeing with that and we've also the same thing that you know Yeah, using it to create things and multi-casking be more productive is amazing on a bigger screen phone So for everyone else out there and we said like, okay, you know, once it's a consumption device It's a lot better. It's better for doing this but for the people who do basic things maybe maybe not so my question is where's the line? Where's the limit like how big is too big?

I knew that was coming. I know you know me Man, that's really hard because is there just a definitive number or does it after just a certain point? It just becomes a tablet and then after certain point it just becomes a full-fledged computer It's but the interesting thing is the market is just changing especially the tablet market I feel like there is newer tablets entering the market that are growing bigger And so what we used to define a tablet as is easily growing, you know, 30 percent in screen size Regardless of platform and will that continue to happen? I'm not entirely sure but I think it's interesting to note that because is the boundary for too big for a phone actually being pushed as well So here's my here's my three you guys ready go for it.

All right, so remember when we first got cell phones, right? Like the very first cell phones. I mean we've probably never owned one because you were yeah, so anyway those ones were how big? Yeah Huge so what was the first complaint everyone had for too big, right?

Yeah, so then all the next ones their whole goal was getting it smaller and smaller and smaller and smaller and then we kind of hit the peak of smallness Do you ever remember what like phone that was? Oh my god those tiny little like candy bar phone kind of things and little candy bar ones And the first one was like kind of like really pioneer the old account did it is, you know, it's as thin as a The razor. Oh, yeah, right like back in the day, right? Everyone had those Adam had a hot pink razor It wasn't hot pink.

It was totally the great one. Um, I'm all titanium all the way, you know I'm not gonna lie. I wanted a hot pink one. I thought actually it doesn't make a lot of sense They came out with a gold one and uh that was pretty good looking.

Yeah, you like you you person you Yes, I do. Um, thanks for giving away where we live. No, you could just that's just like the general statement you person you Um, dude, we're eating it doesn't matter. No one cares.

No one will put you down or anything like that because you want both phones Yeah, they're gonna narrow it down so now that they have an idea of what county you're in they're gonna totally narrow down You're gonna knock on your door in the next 20 minutes. I'll believe out the county you live in. Okay So anyway, so the razor came out and then that was like the pinnacle of like theness and everyone trying to get that phones as thin as they Good and then what happened they started getting bigger and bigger and bigger and bigger So what I think's gonna happen is the phones gonna get so big and the screens guys don't get so big That's just gonna implode on itself and then it's eventually just gonna go back down and be smaller Because I think I think eventually we'll have other devices like we were saying that will kind of fill in each of this or we'll be able to fit Also the functionality that we use day to day that we would want to carry with us in a smaller package and other, you know, forms of Computing or devices will become, you know, so much more versatile than they are now that we'll start using those So I mean the way I kind of picture like phones is if you guys ever watch future on when they have their iPhone that went in their eye Oh, yeah, you just put something in your eye or like you put in earbud it and that does all of like your calls and stuff like that now That's only phones and you know, who knows maybe in a while technology is gonna be used, you know Or phone calls at least are gonna be like obsolete. I mean everyone else has messages anyway, you know, and Instant messaging and everything like that, but I mean even something like like google glass, right?

You saw something like that where they start to you know projecting things in front of you're finding new ways to interact with things I think eventually we're gonna get to that so yeah that whole kind of wearables You know, that makes sense. Yeah, so we can throw another part into this so we're talking about like how you know It got bigger. It was so big and it got smaller than bigger again, you know, but I think a lot of it There was kind of a balance with that so as the technology and phones got better We started demanding that our phones do more things so with that that's when it started getting larger in the screen But I think what also started making bigger too was because people always wanted more battery life with it because the more the phone did the Quicker the battery would drain. I really think that you know, where's the kind of the balance with that?

It's like Okay, you know, every time a new phone comes out and it could even be the best battery life that any phone has ever had people still want better And no matter how thin it is or how large it is they're like, you know, I'm willing to make it If you guys can make it better battery life, then go ahead and make it larger And it's just kind of like man, where is the limit to that? I don't I don't subscribe to the battery argument very well because My particular fatlight. I mean, I do a fair amount of usage with it every day, but I don't really think it's something that I need to Constantly monitor my battery or look after that. It's something that if I I can easily get through a day I don't really seem to run into that problem of oh darn, I'm running out of battery.

Where's the closest plug? I do think that many of the people that do run into those problems though Are people that go to bed and don't put it on the charger and get up in the morning and pull it off I think they're kind of the occasional charger if you will that in passing they throw it on for half hour and it never really gets all the way to 100% I don't really subscribe to the battery thing either Battery life has always been fine for me and if it's you know, if it's not up to you through a day, then we have a problem Because 90% of the time that's what I at least needed to do I need to get me from you know In the morning when I wake up to you know 12 o'clock the next day when I go to bed, right? And if I have to charge it in between there I at least has to get me to where it's convenient to charge and now they have so many other things on the market too that allow you to charge on the go or Extend your battery life that I don't think it's yeah, but who wants to carry around all that extra stuff? I will I will tell you this it's really convenient to carry something like that sometimes I mean it depends on what you're doing It's the whole thing, you know, like if I'm gonna be gone for three days And I know I'm not gonna be reliably next to a charging folder if I'm on an airplane flight or whatever it's going to be right And they don't have a charging station.

I at least know I have something on my person that's actually not that bulky I mean they're pretty small now too, right? Like yeah, I can't even win around that has like I think like five times charge in it or something Just in my backpack in case of you know really emergency or something comes up and they're like you said they're very inexpensive today So it was one of those things and passing I think I found it on sale and I just bought it Thoroughly in there and I occasionally just make sure it's charged But I can count on one hand the number of times last year. I needed it at all You know, that's how infrequent that that thing really comes out of the bag and usually when something like that happens I've already used it from like 6 a.m. To you know eight or nine p.m.

That night and was very heavy usage You know, it's it's something that I don't expect more than 12 to 14 hours of heavy usage out of my phone any more than that And I think you're just kind of being unrealistic. I Think you brought a kind of really important keyword there, Lou is Is actual usage and I think that's something that a lot of people overlook, you know when someone says oh, you know a day's worth of Battery life on it. I mean that's different for different types of people, you know A phone could easily last you a day or even two days if you literally are doing absolutely nothing on the phone but if you're constantly streaming videos or Checking email or having your screen on full brightness or listening to music and things like that You know and people go oh what the heck why isn't it giving me a full days better like I was promised a full days Batter like well, no you got about eight nine hours of it You just used it that non stops since it got off the charger so do people still really complain about battery life though I mean I feel like yes, yes, never mind And I think the other thing is important too is like people's understanding of of what that battery expectation is I mean because people assume all day battery life or full day battery life mean 24 hours and that's not the expectation I think most manufacturers are going with the manufacturers are assuming you know Basically you can leave your house in the morning and get back at night working a normal You know nine to nine hour day and get through the day without charging your device And I think that measurement we can do that currently and another thing I think that is important to notice I see this mostly with with women I see them sometimes put the phone in their purse but not lock the screen And and so that perception that the device is technically out of sight out of mind And so it's not using energy or using any of its battery right now It is a hundred percent wrong and it's something that I that is probably the most frustrating thing to me when I see that happen because I know Their expectation is that you know, hey, it should last longer probably but simply because they didn't lock the phone it doesn't Right, okay. We've ranted about batteries for for a while.

So we're seeing The whole the whole thing is a bigger battery better So we're at the consensus said yeah, a bigger battery a bigger battery is better But having a bigger battery is gonna be a bigger like weight-wise Heft-wise device is that better? Personally, I think if I could take my current smartphone and add 10 to 15 percent to it that'd be awesome I'd be okay with giving up that amount of weight Additionally just to say it's longer But I really wouldn't want to give any more than about 10 to 15 percent more weight to my device At the expense of extra battery. I mean 30 to 40 50 percent That's just a little ridiculous to me in terms of excess weight Well, you know, I don't mind My device is having a little bit of have to it when it comes to phones I think one it just kind of gives it a I feel like weight does give it a sense of value sometimes I have come across phones really nice phones that almost felt too light which almost gave it a feeling like it was cheap And I always thought that was kind of felt weird. So can I ask a question though?

We didn't exactly answer how big is too big for screen six inches six inches six inches more than six inches. That's too big Okay, I actually physically can't say that I think I've held anything six inches and just off You have never held anything that's since six inches. Oh my gosh. No, let's not open that argument I just play that is more than six inches, but I was going to guess in the 6.5 inch area Would be my hand can't even hold that.

I'm sorry like my hand cannot physically hold a screen That would be 6.5 inches diagonally Well, I think it also depends on the aspect ratio though, right? It's going to be 16 by 9 or some equivalent of that does it does it have to be six inches? Well, then you're in a tablet form and then if you want to go four by three sure, but no no, that's too big All right, too big. It's too big.

I do have to agree though. It definitely is below 6.5 It is not anywhere past that you are you're way pushing your luck saying This is this is the right screen size for us to walk around with inner pockets and old door faces and all that Yeah, that's that's tablet territory there. Yeah, definitely. All right.

So battery life back to that real quick And we'll get off of that subject then can we just say batteries and dinner or bigger batteries better? I think there's there's a line there's an intersection where it's like, okay This is this bigger battery is better, but then it's too big or this battery is too small It doesn't give you enough and I think right now I think my my thing is as long as I get through the day with mixed usage However, you want to classify that right as long as it gets me personally with my workload through a day And I know how I'm using it. I'm not using it incorrectly. I'm happy Yeah, as long as I can get from like six like if I had a really long day from 6 a.m to you know 10 p.m at night with mixed usage and not have any problems I'm not expecting any more out of any phone or any electronic device really as long as it lasts me that long Yeah, you know, I agree All right, I actually have a question for you guys So when you were talking about with the larger screens allow you to be more creative as far as creating and editing Um, what do you do as far as storage size?

Do you guys tend to go larger on the storage capacity or do you go a little bit less? You know what features like the cloud and stuff like that that's really interesting You asked that because You sort of answered my question at the end there. My old trajectory was bigger was better Um, you know, I used to I sort of started out with like a like a 100 gig hard drive in one of my machines our fifth I mean only had a 60 gig as my first laptop or something and we went up from there and um, and I think I talked out of like 750 gigs at one point And I'm in a laptop and then now I'm on a 500 gig solid state drive And I'm sort of in favor that if I were to replace my machine right now, I'd probably go down to 250 I don't need 500 especially with new cloud platforms coming in and in off-site storage. Um, I am Certainly under my reign is probably a couple terabytes of just different cloud storage I've got you know, uh certain companies, but it's all mixed if you add it together.

It's over a couple terabytes now Mm-hmm, and it's more than enough. I don't need anymore than that. That's like ready now. Like, I'm sorry.

Excuse me Running out like eight different storage units and putting crap in like each one Yeah, I mean it but I think that comes back to you like what are you doing? You know, what do you what do you need to store certain cloud services? They're really good at storing one thing And so I will rent from that one to do the one thing that they do really really well Um, if if I can do that like these guys hold my drugs really really well. I'm gonna store all my drugs here These guys they do like we need like checks and I got like dogs everywhere like no, this is where I store all my like legit stuff Right, you know I guess I'm kind of a weird breed though because while I fully trust the cloud and I have a lot of stuff in the cloud like including my photos I still will go as bad as large as I can with any storage capacity on any of my devices I second that I'm kind of the same way.

Um, I'm not pushing for like the largest I can get but I'll usually go like if there's if there's an upgrade Like a middle tier that's usually what I'll do if there's storage capacity because it's nice to have local storage for other things I mean, yeah, the cloud's great, but not everything's stored in the cloud yet quote unquote, right? And there's even been times when I've been in the process of migrating or moving So I have to pull it off of the cloud and it has to be held somewhere temporarily So I'll have it on you know locally on the device and then I can push it somewhere else. Yeah, for sure So I think having it's almost like a buffer right like having this buffer the larger the buffer the better Um, so that's that's my opinion on that. Like is there any one thing though that you couldn't store in roughly a couple hundred gigabytes?

I mean even I don't know personally I have a photos collection and yes, it's fairly sizable And I think it's maybe in the like hundred gigate area, but on a 256 gig machine I think I could still if I had to download it all put it on there and then move it to wherever it needs to go I don't know that it's much larger than that and what we couldn't you do with an external drive? Are you editing all of the shows on your computer? Because call me when you need to do that because Yeah, there once you get this like audio production or like anything that has like a large amounts of video content Stuff like that. You kind of need that space and having it in the cloud is great and everything But so work on that stuff like it needs to be local for me and um, yeah Not but once you have kids and stuff like videos all over the place and yeah, the cloud's great And I know that eventually everything will go up there But I still like the idea of if I'm on an airplane all the stuff's on here and I'll be honest Like I have a 512 gig right now and uh, it's probably halfway full and that concerns me Because I'm like, hey, you know, things are only getting bigger.

I mean file sizes are only getting bigger Um, so eventually I'm gonna need that space. So oh, I have a 512 gig and it's probably four-fifths full And you know what um to kind of piggyback on what you were saying at them, you know, sometimes it's not even feasible really to loads up Things in the cloud because how much 4k video are you guys shooting? Uh enough to make it down, you know, but Yeah, I think the 4k debate I played with it a little bit when it when I first got my first device that would shoot 4k, which was my phone Uh, and I blew through three or four gigabytes in just one weekend at an air show and I think it was combined total of like 15 minutes a video And I was like, okay, I think I'm good if we're 4k for a while. I don't I don't need it immediately Right But the bigger gets more expensive it gets Yeah, I think it's really funny to note though that so you guys we all have uh around a 500 day, you know, sse I'm 512 as well, but we're at very different uh storage capacity because uh, jerel, they think you were the one that uh brought this up And you were the one that is the most full uh adam your swimmin in the middle Uh and I am at a cool 113 gigs used on my 512 week SSD So I could certainly fit in uh 256 with only half full Mm-hmm and I'll tell you exactly what's taking on my space.

It's movies now. Could I put all the movies in the cloud? Yes, but I think a lot of it is just I'm just too lazy to load it all in the cloud and then download it if I need to I just I just keep it on my computer because I can so Yeah, that's right like I can do it, you know, it's the It's like well, you know, like if I could look my own balls, I would look my own balls. Why because I can Um, yeah, I don't know I think the with everything that we've been talking about so far is like there's there has to be a why and there has to be a reason and there's always a Like this moderation of this line that will look up on two words like oh no, that's too much because that's too expensive Or oh no, that's too big because it's too uncomfortable or oh no say so I think right now like constraint wise Right, like so what's what's too big in storage?

I do give me as much local storage as possible because it doesn't affect me in any way shape or form like Once you get into like it affecting like physical like weights or power consumption or anything like that sure But right now we're not seeing anything like that. I mean storage has come a long way Um, so until there's a lot of negatives on getting more and more storage. I'm not going to complain if you give me more So adam, do you think that Um, larger storage capacities will always be available on devices or with everything kind of starting to go to the cloud Like we were talking about do you think that um companies will start manufacturing devices that just don't have that much space anymore because it's not necessary Similar like how computers now don't most of them don't have um CD drives on them anymore because it's just not necessary Yeah, and I think you know technology is all going to be replaced at some point time by something better, right? But until that technology is widespread and better I don't foresee that happening So until they give me the biggest storage size that they can awesome And then when they don't offer that in a computer because that's our size like oh the cloud I'm gonna pick the cloud that has the biggest storage size So I think storage size, you know is you have to give me the negatives to bring me down from from doing that Otherwise, I'll say give you the biggest possible um unless they're the big negative like okay You know if you want the biggest possible drive that we have that's you know $8,000 like no alopass I will take the biggest drive that is under you know x amount of dollars Um, but I think eventually who knows right um it really depends because we've looked at all these markets and we can predict how things are going to go And I think yeah more stuff is going to go to the cloud But unless there's a good reason to get rid of the storage on there like it brings down the price by $300 or it brings down You know the power consumption, you know now it'll last like eight days, you know But it's supposed to be connected to the internet so i'm gonna drop power So if if the storage size goes down there has to be something that i'm gaining from that because i'm giving something away I have to be getting something back and that either has to be price weight power consumption something that I can say is worth it Okay, okay So I have a quick question uh sort of a combined topic Is more processor speed and memory always better or is bigger memory processor speed better Can I just insert the same blankest statement that I said for the last one and for this one too Okay, I'm just say you know i'm on i'm on the bandwagon of like what I did with my last computer that I that I upgraded to More RAM not so much on the processor um power because I think with a lot of our devices now We're just beginning to multi-task more which is really essentially what the RAM is for is how many things can you really do simultaneously And I think processors now are just are powerful enough even at the base, you know base end to do Virtually anything that you really need it to it's just a matter of how fast do you need it to do it?

All of them are capable of doing it just how fast you want it to go Yeah, I think I tend to agree with you Gerald. Uh, I really don't know I think i'm a fan of uh The i7 processors. I don't know that I necessarily need a i5. I like the i7 series But I definitely am much more favoring more RAM just because I I sort of envy a world where every single application on my computer is able to be open at the same time Um, and I could just multi-task back and forth you use to close every application on your computer You use I did and then you look at this Money like man, how many programs you have over like all of them because and then you opened a window for me and you realize that And I came to terms with the fact that I have 16 gigs of RAM in this thing So I might as well use them so I now we've quite a heavy lot open and I like that I think it's pretty awesome having all this stuff open.

Um, I am still terrible with uh management of window management Which is the thing in the first reason why I used to close everything but I'm getting better at that and I think I envy a world where it's like All right, it's more like a phone where everything is just open and technically the system is kind of just managing the memory as it needs to But everything appears as though it's open in reality. It may not be But you know what has to see too. I mean you can write stuff to disk and it's not you know super intensive to bring that back So I mean you don't have to store a lot of stuff in memory anymore Um, so once your memory fills up even this swapping is you know so fast on especially SSDs So I think the buying a lot of RAM thing is like if you have a lot of memory intensive applications and you need to run them simultaneously next week other sure But everyday stuff. I mean four gigs is this plenty for a lot of people Yeah, I think I think the uh programs that are being written for these devices are just becoming so much more efficient They're not hogging all the resources You know like they used to so you don't have all the issues that we used to see, you know a few years back That's that's not a necessity though.

I mean that's because they they constrained the memory so much that people had to make their shiz work on You know these these low memory devices I mean if it had all the memory in the world like you wouldn't have to care about it You know like oh whatever there's just tons of memory anyway, so I don't have to worry about it So it's because they had like zero available memory people had to be smarter people had to find out better ways to do things So I think a lot of ways that constraints push us forward, you know That's why I think the storage thing, you know like you ask like oh well when it's like well Unless it gets super expensive to manufacture, you know more storage I don't see people being forced to do that, you know Unless there's a real true benefit of doing that which I mean sinking and having your data available everywhere is awesome But until there's a nice clean reliable way for me to do that every single time how might it be there within seconds I mean once it parallels or is close to parallel with the performance and availability and capacity of you know solid state Then sure but I don't see that coming for a while Um, sorry I went back to this storage thing, but you know blanket statement Okay. Oh, hey, uh, have you guys ever heard of three dead trolls in a baggie? No, no, what is that? All right, so it was this Canadian comedian like group and they did uh, they did a thing of like buying computers and stuff like that It's a lot of really just random off the wall just comedy sketches And one of them is like how much computer should you or how much ram should you get for your computer?

Buy a lot of ram And then it's like why does ram come in bits of eight? Because the tiny elves inside the computer that manipulate the ram only have eight fingers Wow Dude you guys have no soul you guys have no soul I guess I have to actually watch it. I don't know I'll put a link in the in the show notes so everyone can give a taste of three ditrels in a baggie Yeah, please do that. They have Darth Vader's like um performance interview or performance review for the Death Star And like we've had some incidents of uh choking people So that happened one time.

Yeah, maybe I'll watch that as a palate cleanser after the last episode of Game of Thrones, so Yeah, well, private priorities, you know This is way low so I think it's a fair assessment that um in terms of internet speed uh megabits per second Anyone is or everyone's in favor of faster is better or bigger is better. Yeah, no they could slow down the internet I don't think anyone needs fast internet Yeah, I'm actually for bringing back dialogue. Yeah, give me give me edge like that was legit I dream of the days when I'm like 500 500 or something like that. That would just be amazing 500 k down Yeah, that's awesome.

Yeah, that's like DSL. Yeah, those were simpler times when kids actually played outside and Hey, you made things with our hands. Yeah, we're gonna take two months on the road so we gotta go outside and do something Yes, yeah, I remember watching a Camera in uh like it was like windows 98 or something in like africa like pond with like animals walking by it and the refresh rate was like One so every like minute so an animal would walk into the frame and then like walk out of the frame All by the time the camera refresh once it was great. Yeah Go outside look up at this guy.

It's blue joy. Yeah on a side note This is not even relevant. Um, I asked one of I brought up somehow with one of the kids that I I work with um on the side I'm in gymnastics. I said so do you know who bugs bunny is no idea who bugs bunny is?

Yeah, dude. That's ancient like loomie. It's because there's nothing anymore But they knew who me mouse was. Oh, yeah, because I was freaking dizzy around forever There's not a bug bunny part.

What do you choose has been around? I want to say is about as long it's been around since the 30s. What's the new winded loomie teams go to die? I can tell you when it was there's still loomie tunes are still on the air on the air reruns Nope, they actually in an age when kids don't have cable and instead they just use netflix and other forms of no video watching the The day the new tunes died.

Let me get my rabbit errors. Oh, I'll get my rabbit ears out Yeah, the day the day the day the new tunes died was space you Mmm. That's why the new tunes was like that was like the last nail in the coffin That was like them filling the grave in on top of themselves They like have the shovel they put the shovel up and they're like the bulldozer like all right. Just just dump it.

Let's go Mmm. Yeah, but come on. Did we all pretty much enjoy space jam when we were a kid though Yeah, but didn't hold up when we were an adult we tried it There was that time we came on television or we decided to sit down and watch it as an adult We're like wow, you know what this doesn't really hold up There's actually a good handful of movies that I can think of that I watched as a kid and now I watch it now I'm like mmm. Yeah good good for me good burger Not good burgers.

I like that movie. I watched it the other day and I was like this is not as good as I remember it Yeah angels in the outfield No, never watched you never saw the movie. Well, don't watch it now because you just think it's lame Adam Yeah, don't worry Yeah, you had to watch as a kid that would be oh, you know what teenage mid-tirtles Those movies actually held out the first one at least the third one was awful. Oh, that one was so bad Yeah, they clearly didn't care.

They clearly did not care Is another one where April's character was in her character change like each time too Yeah, they didn't even match up the the talking with the with a mouse It was so it was so bad so bad Feudal Japan You can see like it hits the water and still visible or something or It's just bad So bad turtles in time like they tried to take the arcade game like hey, what if we actually need this like a movie Or we can't just take the arcade game and make it a movie. Well, I'm gonna go back to like Japan because they're ninjas Oh, yeah, I think that could work. It didn't work. You know movie does still hold up the labyrinth Yeah, I have a lot of movie either.

Yep, David Bowie and Jim Henson puppets. Yep, still awesome. Okay, okay So you're all the soundtrack super AD though You're all confused by looney tunes stopped running and you're like, oh, but these things all have a little bit of a little They all have things in common like Mickey Mouse. Do Disney is still making good original content.

I don't care who you are There's a lot of time you saw something with Mickey Mouse. Okay, you need to have kids or something like that because Mickey Mouse is your choice kids Uh Mickey Mouse. Oh, man so much. I don't know what that is.

Yeah, see so it's a it's a thing for like preschoolers But it's Mickey Mouse Donald Duck Daisy Duck oofy Pluto and the gang right Mickey and friends and they just do fun learning stuff Do you remember Mickey Mouse Club? M. I. C.

K. E. Y. Where all of the good child stars went and all the female ones went off in the wrong direction And some of the male ones also went off in the wrong direction.

They all became famous pop singers. It was great for them I think wasn't that like the one that came out of that oh like Bernie Spears Christina Guella and And trust me. Yeah, we see some values, right? I think Justin Timberlake was still in there.

Yeah, Justin Timberlake was on there Lots of people. Yep Well, we got we got we derailed his train so we got so off topic That's why I was getting tired of talking about like how big is too big. I'm like well, there's pros and cons Just like anything. I don't know Gerald and I could probably do like a movie thing Lou what kind of movies you watch?

I have an absurd amount of content, but I don't watch movies. So why do you have all the content if you don't watch it? Because it's order big digital order. Yeah, you're seeing that your orders Lou No, no, no It's the serve the content to family to other people So you need to watch the show hoarders and then you can talk to us next week Because once you watch that show you will realize the wrong doing A professional organizer to your house to help clean up your drill bow.

Good. Okay. If they have like a digital hoarders Like episode where it's just people who literally won't delete anything. They just keep my external hard drives They have like kind of like that Ridiculous like you meet those people every day in the tech industry.

They're like oh yeah I've got like way too many files on this or like I think what's worse is The sign of a digital order is like when you've created like you open up a hard drive and there's like 500 folders Like at the very first level like you open up Lou you are a hoarder. You can't talk about hoarders because you are a hoarder No matter how organized you think it is. I mean you are a hoarder. You need to watch the show watch the show Just watch the next week.

We'll talk about it Yeah, Lou because if you actually watch that like these people's houses are just wrecked But the hoarders always know where everything is Yeah, everything has value everything But see that's the thing for me. It's like there is no serious attachment to it. I could delete it and it really wouldn't bother me too That's a mental breakdown. Yeah, because at the same time I could just be like screw all of your family just pay for netflix and pay for hulu and pay for all these services and you can get all my content It's according to the seriousness.

So I'm not laughing at the disease. I'm just laughing that you are a hoarder and you just don't realize it If you say the first party the first step to getting better is admitting the jump problem Adam did you know I sold the robo? Oh, no, that's cool. Yeah, I downsized.

I just have hard drive now one hard drive that plays does the rest Yeah, and then you just put all your hoarded content on the hard drive because I've got bigger than your drobo No, the hard drive is way smaller than the robo Well, so you just want to house and move all your crap with you. Did you delete any content when you moved it or you didn't move everything? Yeah, I did. I left some stuff behind.

I got 100 gigs or so. Oh my gosh, man. You got so much joke Anyway, uh, literally when you open up that hard drive. I'm not getting you.

It says movies is the first folder tv and then personal That's the only cool like I open the door to my house and then there's you know the kitchen the bedroom But then when I open the door to those rooms, there's tons of crap in there Dude, you just need to watch the show and then you'll understand I would if you do ever watch it though, I would not recommend watching while you're eating though. Yeah, it's kind of bad Well, you're definitely like have animals. Yeah So Wow, well, is there anything that we want to kind of wrap up with before I uh, I really want to watch this last episode of Game of Thrones Yeah, that's more than we're talking about because like Oh, man, um, well, I guess the moral of the story is like, can we answer the first question? Is big is bigger better?

Yeah, no, but the first the first one we talked about. Do we do we answer that one? About screen size? Oh, penis size.

Yeah. Do we answer that one? I answered that one. I think I did.

Yeah, you just said physics and then you'd stop Yes, I know I think I said something to the degree that uh, it I don't think size matters I don't think it's fair for me to comment on this. Oh, whatever geez That's making the high road you're old. Yeah You're a bigger man than both of us God Have you ever seen like, you know, like uh, when people are compensating for, you know, maybe they're they're lack of size in a particular area and they uh, They have other things to like make up for it Yeah, like a really big truck or these lifted trucks I will never forget the moment where I was thinking about like, uh, like maybe 14 or 15 and um, my mom had picked me up from work And we were going to like the bank and there was this giant truck that pulled up like this big f250, you know lifted, you know, huge tires Everything like that and then the tiniest guy you've got something like, you know, five foot nothing, you know, gets out of the truck I'm almost like you can tell he's really confident for something I'm like mom Wow when did you get so cool? Yeah, man, so maybe that's all I have big phones Maybe I mean as far as like the car I drive I drive a small coupe, so Okay, the car You have a big phone and you have a big car drive Maybe he's compensating Yeah, you know, you know, I'm also the only one that's married and has kids so clearly this argument doesn't really need to uh, go that far with me Well played Put up or shut up and I just put it Hey, someone yeah, someone liked it enough to do to marry me.

So hey, I hope she doesn't listen to this because this is uh, this is going down there Don't you probably never thought we'll go down I'm speechless right. I don't even know what to say. It was just a checkmate. I don't know Alright, so Adam one lew and Gerald zero is bigger better says Adam Alright, well same time next week same time next week beautiful
