0056: moving colours

from looking into people's windows - a sound collage by nate schmold

What a week! Im taking a brief moment to reset before getting back into the swing of things. Since last sunday Ive been at the local theater doing sound design for a nightly community theatre production of Lucy Kirkwood's "The Children". It was intense and exciting and incredibly fulfilling to be part of an amazing group project like that. Theres something about being a small part of a bigger project that is just so satisfying and confidence building for me -- focussing on and being trusted with my area(s) of expertise while everyone else in the production does the same, like a well-oiled machine. Most of my life's creative work has been very... independent... just me focussing on what i do and trying to handle all sides of it. It's a cool weird freeing to just have to do my focussed part while so many other amazing people are handling everything else.and i honestly cant believe it's day 56 of this weird lil podcast.... Also submitted a new HUGE alcohol ink piece (Called "Cosmochoria" in honor of my 2015 game) to an upcoming art show... so we'll see how THAT goes 😃looking into people’s windows is an abstract audio podcast devoted to exploring minuscule moments, fragments of a story and frozen vignettes told through sound. Imagine strolling through a busy neighbourhood at night. Mysterious lives spill out from windows as muted light filters through rippling curtains. TV screens flicker and project misshapen shadows across unfamiliar walls. Celebrations and obligations keep focus sharp behind the glass as indiscernible silhouettes dance to a silent rhythm. These sound fragments attempt to capture the memories of these human moments before they are lost to the next day’s hustle.
