006 The Addiction to Busy & How to let it Go with Abigail Barnes

from The Time Management Podcast · host Abigail Barnes

Have you ever stopped to question why you're ALWAYS busy?   This Episode is for you if: → Everyone around you is busy, so shouldn’t you be busy too? → You either make up work, or make things take longer to look busy! → You think you might be addicted to the adrenaline rush of being busy, but are over the anxiety that usually follows it!   In this week’s episode we explore the ADDICTION to busyness, where it comes from & how you can let it go!  Building on our previous conversation about the Astonishing Power of Action Taking. Every action you take in life stems from a belief.  Beliefs fall into two categories: When I do X I will get Y  I must do X because of Y In this episode we discuss both types of belief. Starting with the most common belief, that busy people are successful people, a belief I held for decades. We also discuss time freedom and the beliefs about what you need to do in order to be worthy of having it. What we cover in this episode: The belief: Busy people are successful  Time Freedom: Choices not chores  *The questions I ask you to think about at the end of this episode are confronting, but nothing in your life will change until you do. Who are you trying to impress by being busy?* What are you trying to prove by being busy?*  How is being busy helping you?* I can’t wait to hear what you take away from this episode, your ah has & questions.
