008: Liberating the Martyrmom, Loving Yourself Better & Dropping the Façades

from Young Honest Mother: The Podcast

Ashleigh's comment on @elizabeth_gilbert_writer's post stopped me in my tracks, and I knew immediately that I wanted to chat with her on the podcast. So, in this episode, Ashleigh reflects on how she began tirelessly seeking praise in order to feel valued as a child and how that led down a path of taking on more and more responsibilities. Without realizing it, Ashleigh was signing herself up to do things in the most challenging way possible, and before long, she felt like she was struggling to tend to everything on her plate. But it wasn't until her marriage reached a crossroads that she was forced to reckon with her own emotional needs. As she discovered writing as a form of healing, Ashleigh also started to face her own vulnerability and self judgment.    Press play to listen to Ashleigh's thought provoking journey of doing the things she most judged other women for doing set her on the path of liberating the Martyrmom, loving herself better & dropping the façades. Follow Ashleigh's journey over on Instagram @ashleigh_renard and on her website at ashleighrenard.com   YOUNG HONEST MOTHERHOOD FB COMMUNITY: https://www.facebook.com/groups/younghonestmotherhood/ YOUNG HONEST MOTHER INSTAGRAM: https://www.instagram.com/younghonestmother/ YOUNG HONEST MOTHER SHOW NOTES: https://younghonestmother.com/008-liberating-the-martyrmom-loving-yourself-better-dropping-the-facades/
