008 - Margaret Skinnider

from Stories From 1916 Podcast · host Stories From 1916 Podcast

Margaret Skinnider came from Scotland to join the Easter Rising. A crack shot, she was garrisoned in the Royal College of Surgeons and sniped from that position. She was the only female wounded in the fighting, and continued to fight for Ireland's independence and women's rights for the rest of her life. In this original recording from 1955, she tells a first hand account of the week.
