01/14/2024: Ep 2.2: "Parable of the Sower"
In the Parable of the Sower, Jesus compares various responses to the gospel (or the message of his kingdom) to various soils as environments for the growth of seeds. The “path” represents the “hard heart”, the “rocky soil” represents the “shallow heart, and the “thorn-infested soil” represents the “self-indulgent heart”. However, the “good soil” represents the heart that receives the word of God immediately, deeply, and exclusively, and reaps a fruitful harvest, which represents the evidence of a life of faith. How can you ensure that when you hear the Word of the Kingdom, it doesn't just remain on the surface of your heart but penetrates deep within?Identify areas in your life where worldly concerns and the pursuit of riches may be choking the Word. How can you prioritize the Word over these distractions?Evaluate your life based on the fruits of the Spirit (love, joy, peace, etc.). How can you bear more fruit in your daily walk as a disciple of Christ? Hosted on Acast. See acast.com/privacy for more information.
