01 Self Righteousness

As unbelievable as it sounds, it is in man's nature to want to be God: we like to think that we are the originators of good. In essence, man likes to take glory for himself. This is one major evil of the fallen man that God wants to deal with. In this message, “Self-Righteousness, Part 1”, Pastor Jeffrey delves into the subject of “Merit”, starting off with an explanation of what it means. He goes further by showing how the evil man inherently considers himself as the source of good and desires to take glory for himself. He links the subject of “Merit” to “Reward”, and explains how one can wrongly feel a sense of entitlement, regardless of whether or not one takes steps to receive the good that has come to them. To end, he points out that God wants to deal with the evil of “Self-Righteousness” in man, so that he can truly be rid of self and totally be dependent on God.
