01 Shukriya

The notion of Shukriya, or "Gratitude" as a title to this CD, was inspired by the emotionally charged inauguration ceremony of Mawlana Hazar Imam's Golden Jubilee year on July 11th, 2007. This day stirred a deep sense of love and gratitude towards Hazar Imam for all that he has done and continues to do for Ismailis and the world at large. The album's first track, also entitled Shukriya, poses the question, "How will I thank you?" The answer lies in the final track, "Waqt aur Ilm" meaning "Time and Knowledge". That is, by giving Hazar Imam the gift (Nazrana) of Time and Knowledge.
